作者是在日韓國人第三代,並且具備在世界各地求學與工作的經驗,所以能夠以獨特的視角來描述日韓兩國的差異、互動與歷史淵源。這本書讓我特別喜歡的部份是在有爭議的議題上,同時描述兩邊的觀點、從文化背景解讀為何這樣的觀點會形成,讓人感覺到明顯的差異與代溝。另一部份則是不斷強調日韓兩國都在經歷時代變遷,民意與政治氛圍並非永遠不變,提醒讀者兩國關係可能持續發生變化。然而,總體而言,內容可以再更加精煉、整合,才不會有些訊息在書裡的不同章節重複許多遍。
