Wow... just wow. This is genuinely one of the best manga series I've ever read and the artwork is gorgeous, too! The characterization is amazing and it's them, the characters, who really drive this story forward and breathe life into it. It's romantic but without the romance feeling forced or taking up too much of the story. As you can tell, I loved absolutely everything in this volume – the character growth, the expanding mythology, the uncanny elements, the interactions between ... Can't wait to see where the journey will take Nina and her companions next! I wish we'd see King Noah again, I think it's so interesting that Galgada has a female ruler.
I love this series. I wish we had a liiiitle more emphasis on the romance aspect, but I am a character driven gʻirly... And the characters were definitely charactering so...
We love to see the teamwork, that was amazing. I'm nervous and hoping that my ship sails. Also, what is going to happen next?!?!
I did cry just like I thought I would (that's why this is a series I read when no one else is awake )
Now I'm back in the corner sitting in my waiting chair.
Plenty of Azure and Sol and ACTION so I will continue. "The result of everyone's wishes" was an exceptionally startling panel and I really enjoyed getting some real information. Also, Azure's hair. At this point Sett has no chance in my heart and that issss devastating
I feel like I don't really know what the story is anymore. I don't think it's because it's been too long between releases, I think it feels like the identity for the story has gotten lost maybe? I'm also not sure what the heck is going on with the love triangle and it's become quite unclear who is the true antagonist. It almost feels like things were resolving themselves so a new source of conflict was tossed in and yet some of this had to have been set up way in advanced. I guess I'm just getting confused and that's frustrating me. Maybe this particular volume wouldn't have been so frustrating if the next volume were ready to jump into already. Once the series is completed I'm going to definitely have to sit and reread the whole thing. I have a suspicion that a lot of it will come together and make more sense on a reread after the series has reached its finale. For now I'm just going to have to give it the benefit of the doubt and keep pressing on because it's been so good all along the way and I am very invested in the characters. Hopefully it won't leave me and confusion later.
In this volume, Nina learns more about the Star People’s lore. While some of the Sett redemption is iffy, he's showing some growth (and the author/story is aware Sett shouldn't be codependent on Nina for his humanity). We get the context behind Azure’s unemotionalism and plans for world domination. Honestly, very on-brand for his character.
The Sett and Azure team-up and heart-to-heart conversation was surprisingly mature though silly due to the timing. I think this is the first love triangle I’ve read where it could really go either way.
Alisha is going off the rails. At first, I thought she was a neutral party, but it’s clear she’s the new big bad antagonist.
Curious to see where things go
SN: the characters look so cool with those overcoats and cloaks and scarves and ahhhhh. They really look GQ. Royalty all in the threads.
It ended to soon! And my poor heart... what Az is doing. I'm totally team Sett and I wish he could get more interactions with Nina. I don't want to see Az for a volume. I enjoyed that we are expanding the lore and I hope that we will get more about start people / gods in next volumes.

Anyway, I'm now caught up on everything that's been released, and I'm gonna be insufferable about this series until the next volume releases. Sorry to everyone who has to see me in person!!!
It's very good! And the art is stunning!! Can't wait for more

Having done her good deed, Nina, with Sett in tow, is hosted by Starbia. But Nina’s new mission is to learn about the star people and their powers. But a chance encounter means Sett is set to kick Az and take names. Or vice-versa, except that makes no sense due to the nomenclature.
The more fantastical this story gets, the less I actually care about it, which is truly a darn shame because I really loved those early volumes when it was more political intrigue and mystery. Pulling the curtain back on this really did it no favours.
Thus, we continue onward with the real Alisha being some sort of fickle god-being who Az has to keep in check and pretend to be all chummy with, while Nina and Sett keep getting close. It’s rare that the second romantic interest wins over the first, but I do wish it would happen here.
The real meat of this volume comes in the mystical exploration of the star people, but not because of anything that gets revealed about them. No, narrative contrivance, and I assure you it is contrived, decides to have Az show up out of nowhere amidst Nina and Sett.
Az’s grasp of first aid is entirely questionable, though muy picante, but throwing him and Sett together is a fun recipe that should be done entirely more often. Rivals who are adept at battle make for a much more enjoyable butting of heads than the usual high school posing.
Too much of it is thrown together on the fly, although they finally reveal that Alisha is really pretty awful, after dancing around that fact for ages. This story never met a complication it couldn’t come up with, but I do like the way this one keeps Az away from Nina.
‘Not enough forethought’ is a charge I have frequently levelled against this series, and that’s largely my concern. It’s no different from many other manga that are written at such a crazy speed, but I had such a great time earlier on that it does sting.
(Even though the title of the series does imply that this was at least partially planned, the haphazard nature of the last several volumes makes me far less convinced.)
If I’m being perfectly honest, I do not care in the least for what the storyline is evolving into. But I also like the characters enough to stay with it. Sure, the headgear in this series can cross the line into fashion atrocity, but the people wearing them are okay.
If you were enjoying the last couple volumes, it’s still a good enough read. I’m extra harsh on this because it was so solid at the beginning and then faltered. It’s got some fun moments here and I would be lying to suggest otherwise.
3.5 stars - better than usual because of one heck of a kiss and the smart decision to have Sett and Az snipe at one another for a chunk of the book. Solid work there, the usual elsewhere, and continued proof that it should have only lasted around 7-8 volumes.
Je me lasse.
In terms of the romance arcs, I feel bad for both Azure and Sett because Nina is leading them on. I am also like a pingpong ball when it comes to this romance - in one volume I could be for Team Azure, in the next Team Sett! Both characters have their red flags and Nina could end up with either one (or none of them!) depending on the development of the story. I think I'm going to let this story marinade for a bit as Nina is starting to annoy me. Despite growing up in the streets, her mindset of saving everyone is very one track mind, without giving consideration to the consequences of her actions. While she kind of reminds me of Yona of Yona of the Dawn, Vol. 1 her character has a lot more growing up to do.

Nina saying Sett’s name when Az’s lips were on hers was amazing.
Recap: they’re in Starbia, sett comes onto to Nina when she says she doesn’t wanna go to whatever city they were going to. King of Starbia funds their trip to a windy land. There, Nina sees glowing rocks, they get separated, Nina is poisoned but Az is there and saves her, Alisha is bonkers, Az reveals he wants to be king of the world and disappears.
The art continues to be beautiful. I’m totally converted to a Sett girlie. I’m not sure I truely understand what is happening. I think Az is faking it or maybe the new Alisha has to be a wake to control him?
