WHEN IT COMES TO UNSOLVED CRIMES AND UNMATCHED HEARTS, MISS ROXANNE SYDNEY IS ON THE CASE!
What begins as a trip to London to attend a wedding soon develops into a dangerous mystery for Miss Roxanne Sydney. Short of funds, she'd planned to give the bridal couple two exotic cat statues-artifacts from her father's Egyptian travels-which had been serving as regal doorstops. Yet only when one of the mysterious felines is stolen does Roxanne discover their true value.
Upon her return to the Sydney estate in Brighton, an attempt is made to steal the other statuette. Determined to unravel the puzzle-which has already resulted in one unexpected death-Roxanne joins her dashing boarder Robert Lymond in a hunt for the cat-napping culprit. For when it comes to unmasking a thief and a murderer, Roxanne knows there is more than one way to skin a cat...
I love a good Regency book, and very much enjoyed this. I love the dynamic between Roxanne and Lymond. It's clear he is sweet on her but she doesn't want to get married. The two of them have great banter. I also enjoy the supporting characters - Roxanne's sisters, Lymond's Uncle Harley, etc. I would read the rest in the series.
O.K., I am not a huge romance novel fan, but I do find this series charming with a bit of romance and mystery. They really are much more like cozy mysteries than anything else.
This is definitely my go to series when I am feeling stressed and a bit overwhelmed by life. There really are no truly terrible people as main characters, and they always have a good ending :)
I do think it is funny, that I read this series in March 9 years ago!!! And, it was a stressful time, and these books definitely were like a vacation for me!!!
