---

Aisling thought she’d been hired to be a secret agent – then found that Dragonfly required new recruits, even skilled witches like her, to prove themselves.

One clue leads to the next, and she’s assigned to work with Lance Stone on a mission.

Small crimes herald larger ones, and the larger ones suggest a mysterious organization lurking in the shadows.

When an ally turns into an enemy, Dragonfly has to send a new agent into the field. The mission is Infiltrate, discover and escape.

But in the secretive world of international crime, nothing is ever really simple. And simple never meant easy.

Fortunately, Aisling’s newest creation of technology and magic - a mechanical Dragon about the size of an eagle - has just been improved by her infomancer coworker and given a cutting-edge artificial intelligence. Cait’s little sister will need all the help Shimmer can provide.

Despite the workload, she’ll still need to find time for family and her coven. A danger is on the horizon, and the coven’s guardian is worried. Will it get in the way of Aisling’s new job?

The investigator-turned-agent wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.

I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.

My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.

Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

Entertaining fantasy listening

This kindle box set is from my Kindle Unlimited account

I listened to these individually. Each story was different with interesting characters lots of action, misdirection, and violence leading to each conclusion.

I would recommend this series and author to reader of fantasy family and friends relationships novels. 2024

Really enjoyed this series. I am now starting another of the witch series in the same world. The only thing I had a problem with that kept bugging me was the follow through with some threads. The principle of introducing a gun on stage, the gun needs to go off. There were a few slow burns that worked themselves out through the next book or two. The Magical metal, I felt could have been used more considering how significant finding it was and all the interactions around it seemed like in the end it wasn't a big deal. The magic sparring teacher telling the main character to practice more, but at no time did the magic seem to fail due to fatigue directly related to failure to practice. Just things that stuck with me. It did not subtract form the books at all, it was just like a scratching in the back of my brain waiting for something related to happen. Good read can't wait to read about the rest of the family in the other series.

Perspective is everything

Right from the start I knew I was going to love Shimmer, that smart mouth personally that is both humorous and engaging adds so much to the characters.
Aisling really does come into her own and the different perspectives offered by the spy settings are great, both fun and subtle comment on what political games are played by those who are supposed to be keeping countries secure.
I love that Aisling encourages Victoria, supports Mia and gives Lance as good as she gets.
Mia is developed so beautifully, the hard choice she has to make at the end of the series was so bittersweet. She is the ultimate able-disabled icon, total legend.
It was good to get some Oriceran time in, nothing like a fight off world to relive the stress.
How can anyone not want to lose a few days of their lives immersed in books books as amazing as these.

Interesting!

I love omnibus series!! I wasn't sure how I would like this series, but I figured I could dump it if I didn't like it. The authors take the dragon in a completely different direction than I expected. The family members of Aisling have been previously featured in their own books. There is a lot of action and the dragon adds spice to the series. The ending of the last book was quite a surprise, but wrapped everything up while adding room for additional books.

Sean Connery

Sean Connery nd Miss Monster Jenny in Gold finger are classics. That classic scene where Ursla comes out on the surf is well known. To think Robert Wagner was offered the part, but turned it down because he thought a Brit should play it was a good move.

Jungle Book is my favorite, maybe because it was the first time I went to a drive in, I must habe been 5 or 6.

Agents with magic

Several Agencies around the world are sometimes friendly and other times not. This series is based on the premise that magic is real some are so afraid of it they want to eradicate everyone who has it. Trouble is not all magic is bad and are fighting to keep them safe. The war is undeclared and undercover. Good Read.

Good series

I enjoyed the characters. However I became bored with all the fight descriptions plus the details of getting dressing in their fight gear.

After the first couple of books, I began skipping those parts and just read the actual story.
