When your partner works a late shift for the holiday, and there's nothing waiting at home except the damn Christmas tree, why not stay at the office yourself? Tim doesn’t care much for the holiday anyway, and there’s always more paperwork. A push out the door, a pot of stew, and a little holiday magic lets these two lovers find time for Christmas.
Liam Grey is a numbers and data nerd by day, an aspiring author and hopeful romantic by night. Both his parents and his teachers fostered an early love of books, though it's doubtful any of them imagined it leading to him writing gay romance. He currently resides in the Pacific Northwest, and is in love with the mutable weather and landscape (though his sinuses politely decline to comment.)
This is a great story with a very neat little twist not just at the end, but beginning to weave through the story from the first few pages onward. That way it wasn't a complete surprise, but a nice confirmation when things did clear up, hints adding up to a total picture like snowflakes dropping onto a winter landscape and giving it a touch of Christmas.
Tim is a very busy man, never, or so it seems, taking any time off. I loved his colleagues' admonishment to celebrate Christmas, but he simply doesn’t seem to care. When he finally does go home though, it becomes obvious that he just has his own way of celebrating. And whoever is his partner, revealed only much later, does seem to care about Christmas – a lot. Everything Tim does is geared toward making sure he gets to enjoy the holiday, even if Tim doesn't particularly care. That is true love!
I can’t say a lot about Chris without giving away the nice surprise, but things cleared up for me the moment he appeared. All I can say is that these two men are obviously very much in love and make a perfect couple!
If you like sweet stories with a touch of mystery that will dissolve into a smile on your face as soon as you understand the full genius of this story, then you should not miss reading it. I totally loved it.
