The story firmly stands on its own, but there's a common thread running through the three stories, too. Something that's building towards something. I just finished reading "Muñeca" by Marc Arginteanu, and I really enjoyed it. The story starts with Felix waking up with a broken jaw in some slimy catacombs. Felix has to solve a really strange case this time. His adventure takes him all over New York City, from the underground tunnels to the fancy parts of Manhattan. There’s even a part where he has to escape from a group of scorpions in the Hamptons!

Marc Arginteanu, who is also a neurosurgeon and a professor, writes in a way that makes you feel like you are right there with Felix. The book is exciting and full of surprises. I think anyone who likes mysteries and adventures will love this book. I learned a lot about different parts of New York City and enjoyed the wild ride with Felix. I give this book 5 stars!

This book is part of a series and as we read on previous books of this series, Felix is on an adventurous journey to find the culprits of the wrongdoings. Alexei and felix passes through a cave of shadows and find them selves in fight with out worldly creatures and Felix meets a sweet little girl named Evangelina who asks to get his help to resolve a mystery.
The description of the events is done like watching a movie, Their journey described like you yourself is falling and can feel the force of gravity. Story goes on to felix and alexei solving Evangelina’s and then her adoptive mother’s murder mystery and that leads to finding the book that controls the preta. If you want to read something different than the usual, then this series would be perfect.
