The Sin of Duty series is a post-apocalyptic romance and adventure with some disturbing themes set in a dark, dystopian world. Perfect for fans who love romance with intrigue and danger and an arrogant anti-hero who may just turn out to be a hero after all.
Claire Vale lives in a small town outside London. When she's not thigh-deep in real life, you'll find her head-and-heart-deep in the tangled lives of her characters.
Well I’m not sure how to feel about this series it just doesn’t end how I would of imagined I thought there would be more to the story and ending but a lot was left out and I felt like Roman was a force of nature in the beginning then just kind of gave up all aspersions and became a side character maybe the author became bored with this world but I felt there was so much more that could of been told
This didn’t have as much romance as the second book of this trilogy I feel, or had it? I’m not sure, the books swim a bit together in my head. But I loved Georga and Roman’s relationship in this, with finally no more secrets. Instead we saw them powering through hardships together as a solid and trusting team, and I adored it. Also, probably don’t even have to say that, but this reads smoothly and easily, as all books of Claire Vale do. I loved loved loved Roman. He’s so supportive and just tries to keep Georgia safe while she runs along her wild adventures lmao. He’s like really likable, personally, I loved him as a male lead. I liked that Georga came clean about absolutely everything, (did Roman though? Not sure haha) and that they could resolve their relationship troubles so well. I don’t know if it would be that realistic, but with Roman’s personality it might as well be? I love his approach to things, I relate funnily enough. Georga grew once again, and I liked it. She’s still so reckless but I guess that’s just her character. At least, which I LOVE, she’s in cahoots with her husband now who will always protect her, cue *swoon*. (Sorry - romantic) I have always liked Lisa to be honest, but I really adored her this time. Also, can I just say her second driving lesson while teaching herself was kind of, really good? I had to laugh so much. Wow girl, you’re amazing. I loved her humor. Also, Jessie girl, I loved her, too. What a friend and joy. Daniel, too! A good friend and he strikes me as a sunshine and just a kind-hearted person. I liked his ending. I felt some things or plot points weren’t tied up properly or as much as I would have liked, personally, and the ending was maybe perhaps a bit rushed? I was already wondering how all of the conclusion would fit into five pages. Sometimes characters were introduced and I didn’t know if they even served a purpose, or it just didn’t feel tied up properly when they had already served it and were done with their part. Though I didn’t mind this much, it barely registered for me. Nevertheless, I liked this conclusion. I would have liked an epilogue to close things properly I guess, but it’s okay like this too, no regrets whatsoever.
4/5 Stars 7.5/10 after thinking things through.

This series was fun and a lot like other dystopian books I’ve read before. I loved the somewhat original characters and disliked the quick end, as if the author was rushing it. I hated the resemblance to Hunger Games : Catching Fire, as to the flame if you know what I mean. The friendship of Georga and Jessie may have needed a little more detail and overall I feel it was a great break from my time reading the Twilight series, yeah like a decade late. I wouldn’t recommend for hard core dystopian readers but for new ones.
I liked that problems weren't solved with violence, however unlikely that might be. Where this fell down for me was the relationships aspect, this left me a cold in that respect, everyone seemed a little wooden and too perfect. Roman became an echo chamber, and while I appreciate the author making the FMC autonomous and not puttng a male in leadership, he was so insubstantial by this point he may as well have been absent (and mostly was).
Thank you Claire Vale for a beautifully written book. The characters were all believable and very well drawn. I adored the blossoming romance between our heroine Georga and her husband and the strong bonds of friendship she formed with her peers. The plot was riveting and I couldn’t stop reading, not even for a break. I will miss all the characters and their world.
2.5, rounded up. A short, fine enough read. No spoilers in my review.
I enjoyed the story, but the world building is so poor that it left me wanting more. There are so many cool things that could have been built upon but it feels like Claire (who has other books that are GREAT) lost any passion about the story and it shows. There were careless mistakes made, which isn't surprising since book 2 was filled with them.
This series is so worth reading! This author is truly a master! This story draws you in from the first book to the last. I started reading right after the first book was done, something I try not to do because it's so hard to wait. I had just finished another of her series and just couldn't wait. Enjoy
This just didn't hold the same level of interest as the previous books. I found it rather slow and somewhat predictable in its conclusion. I still will read more from this author.
I am addicted to dystopian stories. This has become one of my favorites. I love the message that one person can make a difference if they only speak up. Excellent series!
I was both happy and disappointed in the last book of this series. Georga fought hard for her people and their freedom while also pushing through some adversity and hard times with Roman. I thought it was rushed a bit towards the end and more could have been done with it in the last 20% but I’m happy it ended the way that it did.
