Olivia Newman is now the Luna of the Pinewood Pack. Mated to Alpha Ethan Sullivan, she is the love of his life, and she’s carrying his child. Together, they have weathered any opposition that dared to stand in their way, with the power of their bond defying the odds.
But, when Olivia is suddenly and mysteriously torn from the life she loves, she’s forced to stand on her own. Relying on instinct and her love for her mate and unborn child, she has to do what is necessary to survive.
Ethan desperately searches for the woman who breathes life into his world. Distraught and vulnerable, he finds himself feeling as if everything may collapse around him. While a chance encounter with someone from Olivia’s past will ultimately reunite the mated pair, tragic circumstances will quickly turn Ethan’s relief into despair.
Every memory they made together is suddenly gone. Ethan feels like his heart is being torn from his chest all over again, but he refuses to believe their love can be forgotten. He is determined to awaken Olivia’s memories…even if that means making her fall in love with him all over again.
I was given an arc in exchange for an honest review.
I can’t believe how fast I read this book, I think I love this one more than the first!! 😍 which I didn’t think was possible. There’s def heartbreak but I feel this book has a more natural progression and I love that. It felt more realistic and now I’m stuck outside their world again. 😭 if you love werewolf shifter or romance books then this series is for you!!
I definitely saw that ending coming from the beginning 😂 as an alternate theory and I’m happy to see it came true.
𝔅𝔩𝔲𝔯𝔟: As before, this blurb will be rather short. Awakening is the 2nd book in the Pinewood Pack series by Bridget Nicole. The last thing I would ever want to do is spoil a book for someone. Awakening follows Olivia and Ethan after their happily ever after in book one (Beginnings). Things don’t stay happy for long though…the couple faces unbelievable issues that they never could have imagined. Is their bond strong enough to overcome everything? Or is this the end?
ℜ𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔢𝔴: Man oh man this book makes you feel like Olivia and Ethan can’t catch any breaks, but it makes for an easy read. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was nice to start with an easy read to get back in the swing of things. I have grown attached to not only Olivia and Ethan, but also their other pack members. That being said, there were several moments I wanted to shake Olivia for being so ridiculous. Also, as a warning this book does contain some topics that may be triggering. Please see Bridget’s website for a full list of trigger warnings. That being said the book overall is a romance and has a happy ending. The one thing I was disappointed with in the book though was one of the trigger warnings. I understand why it happened and it is a topic that needs to be discussed more frequently, however, I don’t think the couple ever truly dealt with it in the book. I understand why at points it wasn’t dealt with, but it felt like once that situation was resolved and they could truly deal with it they didn’t really. I also felt that the Ian resolution was a little underwhelming, but that is coming from someone who loves a good fight scene. But you can’t have everything and I did really enjoy this book. If you liked the first book or swoon for smutty werewolf romance books you will too. I can’t wait to see Bridget continue this series and am so excited to read the next book Devotion to finally learn Nick and Chloe’s story!
The Awakening by Bridget Nicole is book 2 in the Pinewood Pack Series and it was so good! If you like books about werewolves, fated mates, small town romance, found family, touch her and die, kidnapping, amnesia, dual POV’s, and is spicy then you will love this book.
In the Awakening, Ethan is dealing with Olivia being taken, knowing who did it and not knowing where to look. Olivia is dealing with being kidnapped by someone she knows and trying to protect her pregnancy. Then the unthinkable happens and they both trying to put the pieces back together. Ethan is determined to show Olivia the love they shared, how much he loves her and to what extent he would go to protect her.
I get that it’s in Ethan blood to be protective and jealous over Olivia but he drove me nuts. On the other hand I understand why he feels that way after what he lost and almost lost. His mom at their dinner infuriated me if I could reach through the pages of a book and slap someone she would’ve been that person. Olivia is so stubborn, she drove me nuts always jumping to conclusions instead of sticking around to find out the truth. I get what she went through was traumatizing and because she couldn’t remember anyone she wasn’t sure who she could trust but, Olivia just needed to stop and listen. This is how you know you are reading a good book when you find yourself arguing with the characters that are on a page in a book. Thank you Bridget Nicole for given me an ARC of this book for my honest thoughts and opinions. I can’t wait to see what Devotion has in store for us.
This is the second book in the series and man did I devour it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
This is a seductive and emotional paranormal romance! I did not want to put this book down and thoroughly enjoyed it. This book continues the love story of Ethan, the Alpha of the Pinewood Pack and his mate and Luna, Olivia. However, things take a quick turn and Olivia is ripped from the life she knew. Ethan is faced with only one choice, to do anything he can to remind Olivia of their love.
Ethan’s love and patience for his mate through all their hardships is heartwarming. You could feel how desperately in love Ethan is with his mate, willing to do anything and everything possible to fix and mend their circumstances. This story was an emotional one for sure and I am glad ending was written the way it was. I can’t wait to continue the story of the Pinewood pack!
✨“No one is perfect, and we don’t always understand the emotions behind someone’s actions.”
✨”The physical connection of our bodies fuses our souls together in a spiritual bond, and our love is palpable.”
✨”I need you to know how much I love you,” Ethan says. “There is nothing in my life more important than you. You’re everything to me, Olivia.”
This is the second book in The Pinewood Pack urban fantasy werewolf series. It picks up pretty much right where the first one ends. It kicks off with a bang but ends on a happy note. Olivia and Ethan have been through so much to finally be here at one of the happiest moments of their lives when she is suddenly taken away. Not only does Ethan have to find her, but once he does he basically has to make her fall in love with him all over again. The back and forth banter made me laugh out loud several times. There were several times I wanted to jump in the book and ask Olivia, “WHAT are you doing?!” That girl is stubborn 😂.
Definitely a fun read but do check the content warnings first as this book does have some heavy elements that may be triggering.

Thank you Bridget Nicole for the gifted book. I loved reading and reviewing it!
"Awakening" by Bridget Nicole offers an intriguing continuation of the Pinewood Pack series, and while it surpasses its predecessor "Beginnings," it still left me craving more depth. The story dives into the tumultuous relationship between Olivia and Ethan, with Olivia's amnesia adding a fresh twist to their dynamic. However, the book's fast pacing made it hard for me to fully immerse myself in the characters' journey.
Ethan embodies the quintessential alpha—possessive, sexy, and fiercely protective of his mate, Olivia. 💪❤️ While his dedication to keeping her safe is admirable, I found myself wishing for more poetic expressions of love. The "I love yous" felt repetitive and lacked the lyrical quality that could have elevated their romance. 💔 Olivia's character often seemed too compliant, primarily driven by Ethan's desires, though her amnesia did offer moments of resistance that hinted at her potential for growth.
Dialogue-heavy and character-driven, "Awakening" thrives on the interactions between its protagonists. Yet, the rapid pacing hindered deeper emotional connections and left little room for the world-building that could have enriched the narrative. Some secondary characters felt underdeveloped, making it challenging to invest in their stories.
Trigger warnings include attempted murder, kidnapping, pregnancy loss, and child death—elements that add a dark edge to the plot but may be distressing for some readers. ⚠️
In summary, "Awakening" is a solid follow-up with a gripping premise and compelling alpha hero, but it falls short in delivering the emotional and poetic depth I yearned for. It's a decent read, especially for fans of the genre, but it didn't fully capture my heart. 🌟
Sequels often fall short, but not this one! "Awakenings" picks up where "Beginnings" left off. If you haven't read "Beginnings," do it now because this second book is a must-read! I loved this book more than the first and that is not normal for me. The MMC continues to worship the FMC with intense "touch her and die" vibes and it’s hot! If you haven’t read the 1st book yet, stop reading this review.
This book's multiple POVs gave me a deep insight into the main characters. The story resumes with Olivia being pregnant and adored by Ethan as they prepare for their gender reveal party. During the party, Olivia goes missing, and Ethan finds her engagement ring on the floor, fearing the worst.
Olivia wakes up in a windowless room, knowing she has been drugged, and worried for her unborn child. Her captor brings in someone from her past to sway her from Ethan. They plan an escape, but this new mystery character has ill intentions. During the attempt, Olivia's deranged captor learns of their plan, catches her outside, and runs her over with his car. She wakes up in a hospital with amnesia, remembering nothing of the past years, including Ethan and her pregnancy.
Ethan and their mutual friends track Olivia to Denver, where she's with her ex, Anthony, who gives off major creepy vibes (she reunites with Anthony while he was her doctor in the hospital). Ethan's protective attitude towards Olivia is intense, but she doesn't remember him. Did the drugs her captor gave her affect her memory?
We witness Olivia’s strong pull towards Ethan, despite her not remembering him. We witness the despair Ethan feels when leaving Olivia and not bringing her back home with him. We witness the hotness in how he dates her and loves her in his attempt to jog her memory. Anthony's true nature is revealed as he confesses he still has feelings for Olivia. This guy gives off major creeper vibes for me.
Let’s pause mid review as I take a moment to compose myself after thinking about Chapter 15. Ethan claims her. I mean, he CLAIMS her. So hot…. I digress, back to the review.
“Awakenings” was is an emotional rollercoaster, making me feel happy, sad, angry, and everything in between. A gut-wrenching yet beautiful scene highlights Ethan and Olivia's bond and how they are there for each other. Bring tissues.
Olivia overhears Ethan discussing who she really is and who he really is and believes him to be absolutely insane. She questions her trust in Eathan, runs away, sleazy Anthony re appears, and my anxiety returns in full force for a heart-pounding ending that kept me on edge of my seat wondering if there would ever be a happily ever after.
I give this book 5 stars and 4 peppers for spice, indicating descriptive intimate scenes and sensual acts in multiple chapters.
I cannot wait to read more in book 3 because the ending left me with a foreshadowing of what was to come.
*I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This is a special ARC for me y’all. This is the second book of the FIRST ARC I’ve ever got to read. Miss will always be such a special author for me. So reading her book for a second time was an honor 🥇
🌙Werewolf 🐺 Small town romance 🖤 Fated Mates 🌙 Found Family 🐺 Dual POV 🖤 SPICE 🌶️😈
RELEASE DATE: June 26th 2024 - Thank you @bridgetnicolebooks for this opportunity to read for you again and be apart of your ARC team.
Ethan and Olivia are back!! I didn’t notice how much I missed them until I picked this baby up. This is the second book in The Pinewood Pack series. I LOVED that this story simply picked up right where it left off and I felt like no time has passed - Olivia and Ethan are fated mates. Expecting a wittle baby and they are announced to be wed. Memory loss, treat of an enemy, falling in love all over again… literally had me at the end of my seat not willing to put this book down!
I truly enjoyed the suspense of book two, I loved the spice, I loved the happy ending. Bridget you’ve done it again!
Another ARC review! I loved the first book, so of course I was stoked for this one. Thank you to the author, Bridget Nicole, for providing me with this ARC in exchange for a honest review!
Another fun read! The beginning started out a little slow, and some of the characters were pissing me off, but once the second half of the book came, I was hooked! I read this in a little over 24hrs😅 A few things: - Olivia has the worst luck - Ian sucks and he’s pathetic - Colin sucks and was delusional - Poor Evelyn - Austin sucks and $2k is literally nothing - Anthony annoyed me, but he’s redeemable - Ethan’s still a little too aggro for me, and I have mixed feelings about his and Olivia’s dynamic. I get that he’s Alpha and is basically programmed to be like that, but 🤷🏻♀️ - Chloe and Nick are still my favorites - I’m excited to hear more about Vanessa’s story!
Ethan and Olivia’s love story is a dream come true!
I love this story, and I love getting to see what Ethan and Olivia go through and how their relationship only gets stronger. Through everything they went through and continue to go through, from there loss, to almost losing each other, to Olivia finding out who she is as a werewolf and coming together once again as a strong couple, Alpha and Luna and a stronger family!
Bridget Nicole has done it again and I couldn’t have been more thrilled to get the opportunity to get to read her books! You get the werewolves, the spice, the dark romance and it’s amazing and so captivating! You just wanna keep reading till you finish because you need to know what happens!!
Pinewood pack book 2: THIS BOOK HAD ME ON EDGE THE WHOLE TIME! I truely forgot how book 1 ended on such a high strung note and book 2 picked up right there! From the start you are sucked in and i think i had as much anxiety as Ethan did for the first part of the book! I am interested to see how the newer characters brought into book 2, portray if they also made an appearance in book 3 due to packs and what other shady business may be hidden! Book 3 cannot come soon enough!
Just like the first book.. drawn out, fill of the same spicy scenes pretty much over and over (change up the techniques!) And when there is action is so fleeting it makes it almost not worth it. I really hoped the second would be better.
I want to know what happens with the characters at the end (saw that coming too), but I'm not sure it's worth it. I'll have to think about it..
Awakening was an emotional rollercoaster, making me very happy, sad, angry, and everything between. A gut-wrenching but also beautiful scene highlights Ethan and Olivia bond for one another. I can't wait to read more. I've been attached to their story since the first book. I would like to thank Bridge Nicole for the opportunity to read this masterpiece, and I hope others love this book.
This series is awesome. It was so exciting to read. Poor Ethan went through it in this one. Poor Olivia was put through some trauma. This book had me from the beginning to the end. I couldn’t put it down.
Nicole sure knows how to write a book that starts fast and keeps the pace moving. For those who do not like a pregnancy trope, this may not be the book for you, but I did feel like it fit the story direction and the couple dynamic between Ethan and Olivia. While this book focused more on the relationship dynamics of Olivia and Ethan and rebuilding that relationship, the story does lose a bit of the shifter/werewolf aspects of the story due to Olivia's amnesia.
I did appreciate the parallels and similarities between Awakening and Beginnings, though it did make aspects of the couple's story predictable as we had seen Olivia's previous decision making in book 1. This also give the reader the opportunity to see if our FMC or MMC will change their normal projections and grow in their personal narratives from book 1.
Overall, I enjoy Nicole's storytelling and can quickly get through this in one sitting. I have enjoyed Olivia and Ethan's story thus far.
I absolutely loved this book and it definitely made me cry and hit home over a specific circumstance. If you read the first book of this series you will definitelyove this one as well as we get to read more of my favorite characters.
⭐️4.25⭐️ Holy cow! Bridget sucks you in right at the beginning! I couldn’t put this book down because I had to know what happened next. This book puts you through the emotional rollercoaster. I went from anxious, to devastated, excited, to angry, to hopeful….I just wanted the main characters to have some peace and happiness.
Ethan is so patient, relentless, and shows his devotion for Olivia through dire situations. Olivia shows resilience and strength in light of all the trauma she’s been through. Both characters have so much love for each other and it’s beautiful to read about!
Ethan is every woman’s dream guy and Bridget ramps up the spice in her second book. Olivia is on lucky girl!!
I loved this book so much more than the first book. It was fast paced, descriptive, intense, emotional, and spicy! I can’t wait for book 3 to be released!!
