Sinners and Saints #3

Tear Me to Pieces

Rate this book
First comes love. Then comes marriage.
We all know how the rhyme ends.

Except I don’t want love. I sure as heck don’t want another marriage.
But a baby? That I’m desperate for.
And I know exactly who can help me with that.
Simon has always been there for me. He listens to me. Supports me. Makes me feel like maybe I’m not as broken as I think I am. He wants me to be happy. To move beyond the pain of my past.
That’s why I’m shocked and more than a little disappointed when he doesn’t immediately agree to my offer.
Until he explains his conditions. Then, I’m downright terrified.
There will be no single-motherhood for me if we do this. Simon wants not only in my bed, but also in my life.
I’m not sure that’s a deal I can make.
And when the past comes back to haunt me, I might not get the chance to decide.

We are getting Simon and Myra’s story. These two are not strangers in the Saints and Sinners world. Simon carried Myra to safety, away from the cult that raised her, and knows she needs time to heal. She has grown in confidence and is awaiting the return of Simon, who has been away from Saints and Sinners for some time now.

As he has now returned, Myra has dreams. As she and Simon grow closer, danger is lurking. Simon goes into protective mode.

The story moves along with thrills, danger, and suspense. The cameos from Alaskan Security team, and the remainder of the found family these men and women have built. The ending is a bit of a cliff and some lingering questions, bringing the excitement for the next book.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Another piece of the puzzle

Wow! I really love this group of characters, and this interconnected series.

I am so happy to have Myra's story, and her happy with Simon. He is just so good for her!
The drama and dangers this found family faces kept me addicted to the pages from start to finish, and I didn't want it to end!!

While this does end up a little unfinished, with Butch and Becca gone ... and the dangers still present, I look forward to reading their story!

I recommend this author and this series.

How is it I’m back here gushing over another Janice Whiteaker book? Oh, right she rocked my kindle with another romance that’s equal parts heat, heart, and a gut punch of emotion. Tear Me to Pieces takes Simon and Myra’s slow-burn tension from the background of the Lost Boys world and turns it into a front-and-center firestorm. Myra’s on a mission for motherhood without the mess of love, while Simon’s been all-in on her for years. What happens is a tug-of-war that’s as tender as it is combustible, chocked full of moments that made me laugh, fan myself, and clutch my chest (or was that the spicy nachos…).

Anywhoo - Myra’s growth is one of my favorite parts of this book. She’s bloomed from someone trying to survive into a kick-butt woman daring to want more—and Simon is both her biggest supporter and her most tempting risk. He’s the definition of steady strength, all blue-collar grit (and abs – let’s not forget the abs) with a protective streak that’s downright swoonworthy. The way he balances letting her stand on her own with stepping in when she needs him? Straight up lethal. And yes, somehow a simple hair-washing scene manages to be one of the sexiest things I’ve ever read.

Now stick with me here, because I’m about to drop WISDOM on you. Janice doesn’t just give us romance—she slides it right into the bigger suspense plot so smooth you don’t even see it coming. BAM. You’re hooked. And while you’re busy falling, she’s teasing threads for Butch and Becca’s story in Desired Perception without ever overshadowing Simon and Myra. The emotional stakes are high, the steam is delicious, and the ending leaves you desperate for more. This is the kind of story that burrows under your skin—and if loving these characters is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Tear Me to Pieces is Simon and Myra’s story. It’s the third book in the Saints and Sinners series, which I’ve been eagerly waiting for. Simon has been thinking about Myra since he first physically carried her to safety. He knows she need time to heal, and even though it was hard to stay away, he did just that. Myra has grown into her own person after escaping an awful abusive cult background. She’s also been eagerly awaiting Simon’s return as she can’t stop thinking about him either. When he does return and gets a whiff of danger surrounding Myra, he right away becomes protective. Myra is not sure she’ll be able to have a relationship, considering her background and Simon’s not sure she’s ready for him. But as they get closer, Simon throws all those thoughts out of the window and realizes he’s all in for Myra. Myra does know that she’s always wanted to be a mom and hopes to enlist Simon‘s help in making that dream a reality. And while Simon does want that, he wants Myra too. These two will quickly win your heart, as the storyline progresses and we see how they get to know each other. The suspense in the story is perfection, and weaving Butch and Becca into the suspense just adds to this amazing story. While Simon and Myra do get their happily ever after, we are left with a bit of a cliffhanger. But that just leaves the reader excited to read about Butch and Becca and how they will be connected to the Alaskan Security series! Janice Whiteaker always delivers with wonderful romance and suspense!

Thrilling and emotional

Simon hasn’t been around the other Saints and Sinners for several months. He’s back now for a month before his next job takes him away again. Myra is one year out of the life she was forced into since childhood, and is feeling unsettled. When Simon sees her floundering, he wants to help her even though he knows he should stay away. Simon is the perfect hero for her. He’s strong, kind, patient, and not willing to give up. Myra has the right strength, feistiness, and humor for Simon.

Janice Whitaker’s Saints and Sinners series is gritty, thrilling, and emotional. These men and women have been through trials that would bring most people to their knees. They survived because they had each other. When someone sets their sights on Myra, there is no way Simon is going to let her get hurt. I loved the angst and longing Myra and Simon have, and how they try to bury it. The explosion that comes when they can’t, and the fire they ignite within each other. The found family that surrounds them gives community and support. I don’t want this series to end. I loved the cameos from the Alaskan Security team and am looking forward to finding out what happens with Butch and Becca and their HEA.

It finally happened! Simon and Myra have been on the back burner, simmering their growing attraction to each other through the Sinners and Saints series, but now it’s boiling over!

She’s focused on one thing: becoming a mother. A new relationship, not so much. Simon wants a commitment with Myra and fatherhood. It leads to some interesting conversations and steamy moments as they figure it all out.

The best thing about Simon is his willingness to balance taking care of Myra while still encouraging her new independence. Simon acknowledges his overbearing nature, but it’s all good because he uses it to care for, not control, Myra. And she eats it up like it’s chocolate! Why is washing her hair so hot?

Myra has bloomed since we first met her in the series. I love how her confidence has grown, and flirty lines roll off her tongue like this was how she’d always been. She completely came out of her shell in this book and surprised everyone in the best way possible, especially Simon.

Janice has delighted her readers lately by weaving together the characters and storylines of a couple of her series. I absolutely cheered when faces from the past showed up and teased us about a future book. I loved it all!

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. That said, there are interconnected characters in this book from other books in this series and in The Lost Boys series. Book one of this series might be especially helpful for readers to read prior to this book for background. Sensitive readers should consider the author’s triggers warnings prior to reading. Readers should also be aware that this book leaves things slightly unfinished in regard to Butch and Becca. Their story is coming in December as part of the Alaskan Security series.
Simon falls hard and fast for Myra, yet he doesn’t hesitate to make sure she has time to adjust and heal before he lets her know that. Meanwhile, he has his own baggage that taking care of Myra and her goals seem to heal. Myra has grown and healed so much in the year since she was able to get away from her horrible ex-husband and the cult where she was raised. I love her spunk and her will to be her own woman by reclaiming parts of herself that had been lost. The final piece of that puzzle involves Simon and the feelings they develop for each other.
This series is full of danger, drama, and heat. I have loved every second of it.

I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts are my own.

This series. Man. *deep sigh* While the HEA is satisfying, the emotional turmoil we had to get through to get there is *phew* Every book in this series is high tension, and the characters all have things in their past that aren't squeaky clean. They never hide their flaws, and they always have each others' backs. In this installment, Myra FINALLY gets her happy ending with Simon. Their journey is as intense as it is heart-wrenching, knowing what Myra had been through, how she'd had to live.

Before the boys rescued her, Myra was in a loveless, controlling marriage and kept in her place by the cult she was raised in. Simon is protective of Myra, and it's amplified by the fact that he is the one who literally carried her to safety. Now that she's free, Simon wants her to be ready to be with him. But when an unexpected visitor shows up, he's on high alert. He ends up staying at her house to protect her, and that space goes out the window. The more they try to stay away from each other, the more they fall together.

I loved the cameos from the Alaskan Security team! I love how all the worlds are tied up in each other. LFG on Butch and Becca's story!

Simon and Myra

FMC: Myra
MMC: Simon
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Pages: 285
Tropes: Romantic Suspense, He Falls First, Only One Bed, Slow Burn, Found Family, Baby Pact
Setting: Memphis, TN

Thoughts: This was a good book. It really focused on Myra and Simon’s relationship and the suspense took a back seat, which was a big change from most of Janice Whiteaker’s other books. I enjoyed the focus on Myra and Simon’s relationship and their introspection about moving forward and the walls they both had. I felt like they were a great match, both lonely after traumatic relationships in the past. Simon was so aware of Myra’s past and so careful not to push her when that has always been his instinct, and maybe downfall, in the past. I loved that Simon gave Myra all the power to move their relationship forward, it was exactly what she needed after the way she was raised in an ultra conservative cult. Although I liked the focus on Simon and Myra’s relationship, I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed and served as a set up to Butch and Becca’s book, which I now can’t wait to read. I did wish for a little more from Simon and Myra, but hopefully the end of their story continues to be a plot line in Butch and Becca’s story.

4⭐ | ✨ A story of healing, finding your strength, and learning that letting others be there for you isn’t a sign of weakness…

💭 This was my favorite of the series. I LOVE that there is a gap that allows growth between our first introduction to Myra, and where this picks up. Myra has a history of being oppressed by the men in her life, and she doesn’t want that to be her anymore. Simon wants to show up for people in his life and care for them in a way that his own family never did for him. This puts them at odds, but the chemistry these two have, along with their histories leads to great tension and storytelling. If you’ve read any of my reviews, you may know that I love an MMC who shows up for the FMC, who pays attention to who she is even if she hides it, and does small things to demonstrate his feelings for her. Tear Me to Pieces had that in spades.

📍I’d recommend starting with books 1 & 2 for more backstory and context. These are shorter, quick reads. This one also ends with one plot point on a cliffhanger as it will tie into a book in another series. But you could absolutely stop here.

"You're not ready for me.....

...for everything I want to give you"

I LOVE Simon for Myra, he knows just how strong she is, how much she has already fought to overcome and just how capable she is of doing more. But he also sees that she needs a little support or encouragement, she needs someone to confirm that what she wants, is ok. That it's ok for her to want, to need or to change her mind and most importantly it's ok to accept help. He tried to give her space, to allow her time, but when he returns this time he realises that actually she needs him as much as he needs her, not only that but she finally trusts him too. They are far stronger together than they are apart, they are steamy, sexy and deliciously dirty too! But they make an awesome couple who understand and accept the quirks of the one they love, and they love them anyway.
I love the crossover with Alaskan Security and look forward to Butch and Becca's book at the end of the year. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

This series just gets better!
I loved Simon, he showed a vulnerability that was so endearing! When he falls hard for Myra he is torn between being who she needs and letting her become her own person after the trauma she has suffered!
It’s a relationship that is built upon trust, protection and respect of each other’s imperfections!
Myra fights for Simon just as hard and Simon learns that his trauma is not a burden but a blessing!
Throw in some angst, suspense and new characters that leave you wanting more! I loved the deals they made and the epilogue was a treat!
This series revolves around a band of brothers brought together by circumstance and they have each other’s back in all the ways that matter!!

friggin love this series.

I absolutely love the Lost Boys and the Sinner and Saints series so much.

Simon is just the friggin best, he absolutely adores Myra and is willing to give her all the space and time she needs to recover from her ordeal.

Myra on the other hand has other ideas. It’s been a year since she was saved, and it’s time for her to start living the life she wants.

This was a fantastic story for this pairing, both have history that needs to be buried so they can move on, and they manage this together.

Their story does however have a huge plot twist when Butch turns up…..finding out where he’s been is a real smack in the face, for all the brothers!

Bring on Butch and Becca, I need this book so much, but also sad it will be the end too.

Test Me To Pieces is number 3 in the Sinner and Saints series by Janice Whiteaker. This book follows Myra and Simon. Myra has been trying to get her life together after being rescued from an abusive marriage and life. Simon is one of the people who helped rescue her. He had feelings for her, but knew she wasn’t ready so he has been traveling for work and trying to stay away to give her time to heal. He comes back just about the time that she feels like her life is stagnant and they start spending time together. This book is full of deep emotion and a bit of mystery. Simon and Myra are perfect for each other and I’m glad they got their story.

Myra finally gets her happy ending! And it’s all thanks to Simon. It took them a while, but eventually they managed to break down each other’s walls. And it all started with a plate of food followed by some renovations. Seeing the love progress between these two was awe inspiring. Simon knew he had to take it slow for Myra’s sake and Myra wanted to protect Simon any way she could, even if it meant grabbing Becca by the hair. Then, of course the book ends on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for Becca & Butch’s story!!!

Simon is one of The Sinners and Saints. He is a welder by trade.
Myra manages a day spa.
Matthias is Myra’s ex husband.

Simon and Myra met when she was rescued (from a cult)by Simon and his team .
There is definitely a an attraction and chemistry between them ( but both are dancing around it).
Simon is a planner and Myra just wings it.
Can these two overcome their issues and have a Happily Ever After?

This book has suspense , danger, intrigue ther is emotions, drama and is fast paced.

Great Job. Janice Whittaker !!!

Tear Me to Pieces, book 3 in the Sinners and Saints series by Janice Whiteaker was great. Slow to start but I fell in love with Myra and the back and forth between her and Simon was so fun to follow. Neither of them understands that they both want the same thing and with each other until things start happening in town. Simon’s angst about what to do with his life comes across as touching and Myra’s just trying to find her footing with her new reality. I loved how Janice ties them together and brings their stories out so they can move on together. 5 stars.

DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely devoured this book! I stayed up practically all night reading it, and then finished it the following morning after some much needed sleep. Worth it!

Simon and Myra’s story was everything I wanted it to be and more! I absolutely love a hero that has is gone for the heroine while the heroine is completely clueless. I would die if I ever met a man like Simon, and he turned all his attention on me! Swoon!

I do have to say, Butch and Becca almost stole the show for me in this story! I love how Janice teased their upcoming story in Desired Perception throughout Simon and Myra’s journey. Yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger, but it left me excited and filled with anticipation for Butch and Becca’s long-awaited story!

Thank you Janice and Julie for the advance copy!

Tear Me to Pieces is a fast paced, emotional read.
Myra and Simon have both been fighting their attraction to one another, since Simon helped rescue Myra from an abusive marriage.
When Simon returns from being on the road for work, and they start spending more time together and then strange things start happening.
This was an exciting read that I could not put down.
But be warned, it does end on a cliffhanger.

Myra and Simon are the icing on the cake for Sinners and Saints. Myra has overcome so much and still wants to be a mom and Simon has been ready for it all since jump and has a few plans. It takes her awhile to make the moves and him awhile to trust what she wants, but when the come together it's fire. We learn more about where Butch has been and connect more with Alaskan Security. The story is engaging and the source is just right. Enjoy!

4.75 stars. Oh man, this book just grips you from the beginning. I loved it. Simon and Myra are amazing. The flaws, the strength, the humanness in both of them. The way they interacted with each other. I started this book late one night and finished the next day. The kitchen scene made me laugh. I loved how we see another couple's book which you know is gonna be amazing as well. You will love this book!!

Loved Simon and Myra

Simon and Myra were meant to be together. This was a great story. Simon was patient, loving, protective, and everything Myra needed to come into her own. Together, they were funny, caring, and sensitive to what each of them needed. Their journey to discovering their love for each other and building a future together was touching and honest. Loved it!!!

On to Butch and Becca and more of Team Shadow. 🥰

Simon and Myra were very sweet together. I loved that Simon wanted to do all he could to make her life easier and to take care of her. When presented with her request, he was all in as long as she was part of the deal too, showing her what true love and devotion are supposed to be. There was some danger and a twist or two, but that danger was handled by Simon and the others, leaving Simon and Myra the chance to build a life and a happily ever after together.

Tear me to Pieces is an emotional book…..Myra has been rescued after an abusive marriage and life, she’s started the process of living her own life. Simon was one of the people that rescued her and this book brings their journey to life. He’d had feelings for her, but realised she needed to find her feet as an individual and give her time to heal. Emotions are high in this book and you catch your breath at the support he gives her, and when someone sets their sights on Maya, Simon and the team are there to help. This book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger – which is very unusual for this author but it leads nicely to the final book in the series.

This was a fun book to read. I’ve loved Simon and Myra from the get go and have been waiting for this one. It is H. O. T. And that’s just with the foreplay. When they get down to business it’s steaming! Simon has everything planned as usual but Myra throws him for a loop constantly. Dive into this one and soak up the goodness that is Simon and Myra.

I was looking forward to Myra's & Simon's story and Tear Me To Pieces did not disappoint. This is the last book of the Sinners and Saints Trilogy and takes place in The Lost Boys world. Simon & Myra have been pining for each other since Take Me To Church when Myra is rescued by Simon & friends. Their story finally comes together now -months after TMTC.

There is an arcing thread that is wove into this book. While Myra & Simon have their HEA; that thread will be woven into the next Alaskan Security book, Desired Perception) written by Janice Whiteaker's alter ego, Jemma Westbrook. If you would like some of the back story, I recommend reading Safe Haven from Jemma Westbrook's Alaskan Security-Team Shadow.

I did hate the cliffhanger we were left with. It happened so abruptly I was taken aback by it. ain't general the last parts of the book progressed quickly and moved too fast. Specifically around the attempted abduction.
