Lady Victoria Spencer has loved one man her entire life. Of course he never notices her. Why should he? She’s a wallflower and no one pays the unwanted ladies much mind. Had she been a bit plump? Yes. Now that she no longer is, she has a plan. She’s going to become a rogue wallflower, and only one man will do as her first lover.
David Brooks, Earl of Foxcroft had led a charmed life. Right up until his father died and he was forced to take responsibility for his family and the estates. His father had run the coffers nearly empty and it had been up to him to restore their fortune. He could have married an heiress, but felt that was a cowardly way out. Instead he focused on rebuilding his fortune. Now that he feels secure enough with his family’s status he has decided to take a wife. Only one woman will do, but now that he can claim her would rather take a lover, not a husband.
All Victoria needs is a gentleman well versed in everything roguish to give her those lessons. David seizes upon the opportunity. He is more than willing to use her curiosity to his advantage. As long as in the end, he’s the only rogue she completes those skills with.

Lady Victoria fell in love with Viscount Dalton, her brother's friend, when she was four and ten. Dalton's father died and so he became Earl of Foxcroft. She got her man in the end.
I very much enjoyed this story. I will read more about the conclave of wallflowers, especially when they get their revenge! 5☆

How To Become A Female Rogue

I enjoyed this amusing novella with its entertaining plot, very likable characters, humor and spice.

Lady Victoria Spencer has been infatuated with her brother's friend, David Brooks, the Earl of Foxcroft, since childhood, but she thought he never paid any attention to her.

Victoria, who is on the verge of becoming an old maid, at least wants to experience what it feels like to be a rogue and indulge in passion with David. If he doesn't love her, perhaps he could become her lover. She decides to lure him into a scandalous liaison at her house party.

David inherited his father's penniless earldom years ago. He is also in love with Victoria, but is focussed on filling the family coffers.

Neither of them is aware of the other's feelings. When Victoria tells him of her plans to become a female rogue and take lovers, he is shocked, but offers to become her tutor to keep her away from other men and make her fall in love with him....

If you like quick to read historical romances with determined wallflowers and tricked heroes, you're sure to enjoy this book!

A delightful novella in the multi-author Revenge of the Wallflowers series where I’m not sure revenge was extracted and just who was seducing whom. Dawn Brower manages to take what Lady Victoria Spencer deems revenge and creatively turn it into a fabulous romance of a reformed rogue, David Brooks the Earl of Foxcroft, teaching a want-to-be rogue, Lady Victoria herself, how to be a rogue. The results “unfortunately” for the revenging wallflowers looks nothing like revenge but more like two friends finally finding their happiness.
This is a short novella but the author does a wonderful job of developing the storyline and her characters. The rogue lessons are, of course, the defining elements of the book with the interactions and banter between the two ranging from humorous to steamy.

Another great novella, well written, full of love, revenge, romance, society, light steam, lessons learned, feelings and emotions. Lover the cover. David is an Earl , when he inherits, finds that his coffers are just about broke. So he starts to invest to bring it back, causing him to restrict himself from being a rogue. His best friend is the brother to Victoria. A young lady that he has liked for years. She has become a wallflower as no other man can stand up to her dream but now she wants her "revenge" on him. She feels this way due to the fact that she has loved him for years and he doesn't even notice her. Her plan is to have a house party and get him her how to be a rogue and seduce a man. The lesson they both learn is to more open about how they feel for each other. An enjoyable book to curl up with. Well done, can't wait for the next one. Would recommend to everyone.

This novella was so much fun. I just finished reading the previous "Wallflower Identity" and I had to keep on going and read this interconnected story. Wallflower Victoria has always had a thing for her brother's friend David. Unbeknownst to her, the feeling is mutual. Unfortunately, David has had financial issues he's had to deal with before declaring himself to his future bride.
Victoria lures David into her trap by getting him to tutor her in acting like a rogue. David hasn't actually been a rogue for many years, but he'll do whatever it takes to keep his woman from throwing herself at another man. Not realizing that they shared a single goal, both of them were adorably afraid of failure.
This story was sizzling and quite humorous. I read it in one sitting.

Victoria has loved David since she was fourteen. He noticed her then and fell in love with her over the years. He didn’t mean to ignore her, but his father left the estate with almost empty coffers, and he was working to bring it back to rights. Now that he is back in Society, Victoria, who has become a wallflower, has a plan take her revenge for what she sees as a slight. She plans a house party where she plans to appeal to him to teach her how to be a rogue. Will her plan work? It looks promising. This is an enjoyable story with lots of fun and romance. I love David and Victoria together. They were full of surprises for each other. The biggest being that their feelings had been mutual for a long time. Too bad it took them so long to realize it.

For the story itself, I would rate it 3.5 stars. It is short and sweet, and the epilogue is endearing. David and Victoria are well-matched, and I liked their story. An interesting premise, but very predictable.

The narration for this story is 2 stars. It didn't work for me - it was like listening to your grandmother talk about sex and desire in detail. If you have ever watched the Miss Marple series with Joan Hickson (whom I adored in this role, but still!) playing the title character, then you can fathom what this narrator sounds like. And even though sex and desire would not have surprised Miss Marple in the least, it didn't put me into the romance frame of mind.

If you are going to embark on this Revenge of the Wallflowers tale, I would recommend reading it, rather than listening (although it is a short 2.5 hours). You might enjoy it more than I did.

This was a sweet novella with a little steam at the end. Victoria had loved David since she was a young girl, but she thought her brother’s best friend would never love her back. David secretly loved her but thought she would never love him. They both thought they were using “rogue lessons” to make the other fall in love, but they soon realized they were both already there. They got their happy ending, but they could have gotten their sooner if they just took a chance and told each other how they felt.

This was a good story. I loved them together, and their interactions were sweet, and the novella didn’t drag out there relationship with unnecessary obstacles.

This was a fast paced and fun read.
Having never read any of the others in the series, I appreciated that the book stood very well on it's own as it was fairly focused on the main pair of Victoria and David.

That being said, I thought it odd that a chapter titled "The Revenge Pact" was listed before the prologue, introducing so many characters to never see them again. Maybe it's something done with the other books in the series, but I felt it was unnecessary because it didn't do much for the story and there was no "revenge" in this novella to warrant it.

If you love the "I'm in love with my brother's best friend" trope, with witty dialogue then definitely give this a try.

3.5 stars.
Although this was an entertaining read I couldn’t understand why Lady Victoria Spencer wanted her revenge against David Brooks, Earl of Foxcroft. All he had done was to say he didn’t think they would suit, at a time when she was 14 years old and he was 19. ( she was eavesdropping ). Now, they are at the house party she has organised with her brother. Of course feelings and circumstances are bound to change in 7 years, especially at that age. David and Victoria both want the same thing but will they ever get to admit it to each other. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Super romantic, super fun

Victoria had loved David for years, now it was time to get a little revenge and tempt him until he couldn’t resist her.

David had loved Victoria for years but he had to deal with his finances first before he was in a position to claim the love of his life. When Victoria approached him about lessons in love, no one else would be giving her any lessons but him.

A short novella with some steamy moments and a romantic HEA!.

This is a very short read. This is Victoria and David’s read. She was young when she fell in love with him. He had lost everything because of his father. What will happen when he decides that he has rebuilt what his father lost enough to maybe have Victoria? What will Victoria do since she thinks that he has never wanted her? Follow the charade as they come to know each other again.

Loved Victoria and David's story of passion and romance. Victoria has only ever had eyes for one man David Brooks. When David inherits his title he also inherits it's debts instead of marrying wealth he works at regaining in. However by the time he is secure enough to marry Victoria she decides she wants a lover not a husband. Is David up for the challenge, can he change Victoria's mind to only having just the one lover him.

Rogue Wallflower, by Dawn Brower, and part of the Revenge of the Wallflower series was a fun and ravishing read! Victoria has been in love with David, the Earl of Foxcroft since she was 14. She’s not a little girl anymore, and she’s tired of being ignored. So she hosts a house party with the intention of seducing David, not realizing he wants hers as his wife. This story was steamy fun, and you’ll love it!

It was funny how both Victoria and David have romantic feelings for each other but they don’t say it out loud so he’s forced to convince her through the lessons on how to be a rogue she wanted and he offered to teach her. They had been friends for years so this novella romance wasn’t insta love but it was still steamy.

(DNF) I was fairly close to the end of this novella when I just couldn't take how dry it was. The pace for romance/steam was more fitted for a full-length book, so you can imagine how bored I was. This was disappointing.

*Sidenote: I sort of like the dress on the cover, but it's much too modern for this time period.

This is a charming and original love story. A spinster, a house party, revenge, a brother's best friend, and an elaborate scheme of seduction were very entertaining. I enjoyed the humor, and with the schemes and the delightful, delicious passion. The ending was lovely. I highly recommend reading!

Perfectly 'Different'!
Take a 'Wallflower' and to this personality add the characterisation of 'Rogue' and then you get a very different kind of story - just like this fantastic one which I absolutely loved!
Honestly, the characters were perfect and the story just hilarious.
