Overall: 4.5/5 Spice Level: 3.5/5 Recommended: Yes, if you read the previous books in the series
I am so sad to be leaving the Nightshade vampires behind. I have been insanely excited for Malachi's story since he was featured more in book 2, and I was not disappointed! I loved this book! Malachi has always been viewed as the playboy of the group, so it was fun to see him give in and accept that Blake was his mate. I loved Blake's personality so much in this. She was independent and protective of her daughter, but she also had a vulnerable side that made her a really well rounded character. The plot was simple but kept me hooked from start to finish. I loved seeing all of our other Nightshades, too. The author left a little teaser that she may have more to write for the Nightshades in the future, and I would absolutely love to see that. Was this series perfect? No. There were inconsistencies with some of the characters throughout, but I was able to overlook them. This whole series was just fun, vampire mafia. I loved all of the characters with Malachi and Blake becoming my new favorite couple!
This is book five in the Nightshade Vampire series. I have enjoyed this series and the Alpha males and their mates. This story features Malachi, the General for Ambrose and team. Malachi could not understand why his brothers changed their lives for their mates. Then Malachi saves Blake (lead female) from some thugs and makes sure she gets home safely for her daughter Charlie. I enjoyed this book until the last scene between Malachi and Blake. I am not sure why the author had to throw a twist into their happily ever after, but Rowan Hart did and it felt unnecessary to the storyline. Ambrose and Eloise did not have this complication, neither did the other brothers with human wives. So why even add this complication to this book five? The epilogue is two years later whilst the couple is in Paris, France. Disappointed after being taken through their history, falling in love, and forming a bond, that they do not get their happiness.
I loved this book. As someone who had been a single mom, I appreciate how Mal formed a relationship with Charlie instead of just dating/mating her mom. The twist of Blake not being able to be turned was brilliant and Mal still was able to live out the rest of his days with his little family. I love this for him. He will never be too old to steal Lans Count Chocula, though. Let the man retire from this life with gray hair and pettiness (like any other old man)
This book had everything. HEA, action, found family, spice…the list goes on. They even get their trip to Europe at the end! I read parts that made me misty eyed, made me cackle and made me rage. Thank you, Rowan Hart for this series and for bringing me along for the ride!
Another winner in this series of books. Good characters and storyline along with action and suspense. Lots of twists and turns. Keeps your attention from the start. I really hope that the author will write more of this series it is so good.
One of my favorite vampire series. You’ve got smut, action, plot, alpha males, dominance, and twists. This last book I felt like the author was repeating themselves several times and could have just left areas out. Overall, great book!
I enjoyed the whole book of each of these series especially the fight scenes. You really had some good detail going with those. I’ll be back looking for other books. Thank you for sharing your stories.
