One scarred veteran in search of peace and a new life on King Mountain + One curvy yoga instructor with a broken heart = An age-gap, opposites attract romance with all the feels!
People tell me I'm a hero. How am I the hero if I'm the only one who survived the IED?
My VA therapist says my stress levels are dangerously high. His suggestion? Yoga.
It sounds ridiculous, but I go. I want to dig myself out of the darkness. The class is as difficult as I imagined. What I didn't imagine was the strong, curvy woman instructor. I nearly fell a** over tea kettle when she bent over and I saw her luscious thick thighs and...more...when she bent into one of these ridiculous positions. There's a lot of positions I'd like to get into with her, that's for d*mn sure.
I'm warming to the idea of yoga, but to say I stick out like a sore thumb in her class is the understatement of the century. Private lessons seem like the best option, plus I get to spend more time with the curvy instructor who makes me believe there's a way out of the darkness.
I tell myself a woman like her could never love a scarred man like me, but every time we meet, the look in her eyes tells me differently. She has shadows in her past, too, but a voice deep inside me tells me she's The One and that I have to put everything on the line for her. I can't bear the thought of losing anyone ever again, but the thought of losing her to another man? That hurts worse than my scars. Now that I've found the woman who gives me hope, I'm never going to let her go.
Rugged Hero is book 4 in Heartland Heroes: The Men of King Mountain. Steamy HEAs guaranteed, no cheating, no ex-drama -- always just two people who can't resist each other forging a new and loving future together.
I loved this so much. For such a short story it was well written and it flowed nicely. Both characters were great. He was a broken man that thought he was undeserving of love but she changed that. She was also a bit hesitant but they were perfect for each other.
Rugged Hero is the fourth book in the Heartland Heroes: King Mountain series and this one is about two people who have closed themselves off to love and relationships finding their way to opening their hearts to each other....and all it took was some yoga. Bridget is a curvy yoga teacher on King Mountain who has her own yoga studio. She usually teaches moms and college kids but one day she looks up and sees a burly man in the back row and her starts to wonder about him. Moses is a former Army Ranger who discharged a year ago. He is still healing physically and mentally, as he suffers from PTSD. He moved up to King Mountain and joined Waylon, living in the fire lookout by himself. His VA therapist suggested doing yoga to try and help with the PTSD and so he finds himself trying to breathe deeply and not fall flat on his face. But the one thing that interests him is the curvy teacher with the beautiful spirit and sunshine smile. These two may just find a HEA if they are able to open themselves up and bare their souls and more to each other. But that will not be before some axe throwing, a few wonderful friends, some riling up, and naughtiness. I loved this book ..... the characters are lovely, the story-line is quick and keeps your attention, the passion is sizzling hot and the writing is excellent. This is another wonderful book in this series and I can't wait to read the next.
An Instant Connection Worth Exploring - Bridget was in the middle of teaching a yoga class when she laid eyes on the most gorgeous hunk and felt an inexplicable pull towards him, but she was hesitant about pursuing it. Moses felt an electric current run through his body when he touched Maya, so he made it his mission to do everything possible to get her to go out with him. The longing looks and stolen kisses whilst they spend time getting to know each other, soon led to a steamy encounter.
Unfortunately, Bridget’s insecurities about her past relationships made her hesitate about being in a relationship, but she finally got the push needed to give Moses a real chance. Once Bridget finally admitted her true feelings for Mason, they got to have the amazing life they both deserved. This is a steamy, fun romance story, that pulled me in from the first page and kept me hooked on the story until the end. This book deserves a place on your TBR list.

Rugged Hero is book 4 in the Heartland Heros:King Mountain Series by Lana Love.
Former Army Ranger, Moses, needs a different kind of therapy to help him deal with his physical pain, PTSD and anger issues. So his VA therapist recommends he try yoga. When he attends class, he finds more than he is looking for when he meets Bridget, the instructor. She catches his eye and quickly fills a void he didn't realize existed in his life.
This sweet story was incredibly well written, and the couple was perfectly matched. The emotions were realistic, and the chemistry was perfect. There was some spice and a super sweet epilogue. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot. I plan to go back and read the previous books in the series while I wait for the next one.
ARC was provided by Booksprout, and this is my honest review.
This book is incredible! Bridget is a yoga instructor and Moses works on a nearby mountain. His VA therapist recommended yoga to Moses in place of meditations for his PTSD. One look at his instructor and Moses is feelings things he thought he could ever feel. Right away when Bridget sees Moses in her class, she is smitten but cautious having come out of a relationship because he ex told her that she was too big and not skinny enough. Both are vulnerable. Moses is scars all over his chest, abdomen and legs while Bridget still feels the sting from her ex. Moses decides to take a chance and be honest with Bridget. There was some wonderful insight in this book. In their own ways, both Moses and Bridget are heroes. Such a fantastic book!.

This was a great read to dive into for King Mountain.
Moses is a man haunted by his past in the military. He has scars on the inside to match. Joining a crew on King mountain is giving him a peace he’s been longing for, even its lonely.
He meets Bridget when he takes a yoga class that she is teaching. They seem drawn together right away and even get closer as they take private classes. Bridget can’t look away.
This story has so much love. I was blown away by the depth of pain Moses was experiencing and trying to find a way out that isn’t medication. The general connection from them turned into a real bond that allowed them to dive deep.
Don’t get me wrong Lana never leaves out the spice and fire in their chemistry, but a fantastic read on all levels!
I loved Rugged Hero: A BBW & Mountain Man Romance Book 4 of Heartland Heroes: King Mountain. Bridget is surprised to find the big mountain man in her yoga class but he’s determined to learn. Moses was told yoga could help his PTSD, so he figured he’d try. He wasn’t expecting the beautiful instructor to get his pulse going but now he doesn’t want to be without her. Bridget has been hurt but Moses seems different and she wants to give it a try. I l led the story and the characters. They have been hurt in the last but are ready to start new together. I would definitely recommend this book and the series.

This was an engaging and fun read that showcases compassion and healing as yoga instructor, Bridget, and veteran, Moses, find love together. These two had a strong and instant connection and I love that Moses, while uncomfortable joining a yoga class filled with women, did find stress relief for his PTSD. Bridget is still recovering her confidence from a nasty ex but, together, they can heal each other. I loved the group razzing each other and yet fully supportive of each other, too. Bridget found her place with his peeps and their partners, which was great to see, as well as seeing them get their wonderful HEA. Loved it!
Rugged Hero is beauty and sweetness, refreshing, and dynamic! I loved Moses’ character from the first time he was introduced in this series, and I’m so in love with his story! He is such a lovely, kind, caring man who is struggling to process and move past his traumatic experiences. Bridget is equally gorgeous in her awesomeness, moving through her own issues and working it out while helping others find their core strength too. Author Lana Love has done a brilliant job of crafting this world and these characters; I just absolutely adore her writing and I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Moses is one of the new veterans to join King Mountain. He choses fire watch to be able to be alone. He also ends up in Bridget's yoga class - merciless teasing from the guys ensues. Good news is Bridget is able to help Moses with his yoga and more.
I loved their group date. A great opportunity to see the rest of the gang. Loved how they welcomed Bridget so quickly.
These two were some of my favorite characters in the series. Both are afraid of how others see them, afraid of getting hurt, but also of loosing their chance at something great.
A wonderfully steamy and heart-melting read.

Scars. Some people have emotional scars or physical scars while others have both. Bridget has emotional scars that run deep yet she still has so much hope and love to give. Moses is a former Army Ranger with physical and emotional scars. He takes a chance to use yoga as a tool to heal and it leads him to Bridget. Together they heal each other through love and trust. It’s a beautiful story with the right amount of filthy fun. Love this sweet story of the healing power of love.

This was Moses and Bridget’s story. Moses’ VA therapist says his stress levels are dangerously high. His suggestion? Yoga. It sounds ridiculous, but he goes. He wants to get himself out of the darkness. The class is as difficult as he imagined. Then he sees the woman instructor. He tells himself a woman like her could never love a scarred man like him , but every time they meet, the look in her eyes tells him a different story. Could she be the one? It was an engaging read. And voluntarily leaving this review.
Average insta-love story. I Was able to finish it in under an hour. Story has no issues, low heat and typical love at first sight. Moses and Bridget had chemistry but were struggling with their own personal demons. There were a lot of names mentioned I guessed from other books but nothing that kept you from keeping up with this storyline. Quick read with no issues.

Moses is badly scared, emotionally, mentally, as well as physically, from an IED. He's the only one who survived, and that takes it's toll. He was told to give yoga a try to help with PTSD. Bridget in a yoga instructor that has been burnt by love before because of her curvy appearance.

A really nice quick read. Moses begins taking a yoga class to help with the stress resulting from an IED accident that ended his army career. He meets Bridget the instructor and the chemistry between them is off the charts. He is scarred from the accident and not sure if he will ever find someone who can look past his scars. Bridget has curves that she wishes men would look past and see the real her. Moses just might be that man and she just might see the real him!
