Is traveling the world full-time as glamorous as it sounds? Could you live out of a carry-on suitcase filled with everything you own? What's it really like being in a new place every day? Would you sip every wine, taste every gelato, climb every trail, and see every sunset?
Chris and Steve, an early-retired couple who sold everything and left Corporate America, have successfully traveled the world, one month as a time, living a full-time nomad life. From Ireland to Australia, they've circumnavigated the world and heard the sound of a million butterfly wings flapping, fed geriatric elephants special banana leaf sandwiches, snorkeled with hammerhead sharks, begged immigration officials to let them cross borders, and navigated the world as a team with just their two carry-on suitcases.
In this third book in the series To Travel An Unconventional Life, youtube's favorite traveling retirees pick up their love story from where Two Carry-Ons and a Plan left off. Now with tales from their daily life, Lessons Learned, and more tips and tricks for navigating Nomad Life, you won't be able to put down this next book in this adventure series. Get your copy now!

If you're thinking of trying a life of full-time travel you should read this book.I've lived this life - for six years, so I can promise you that Chris knows what she's talking about because I lived it too. Everything rang true for me - grieving your old life, redefining home, as a couple being together 24/7, staying grounded, finding yourself. She is an excellent storyteller that will capture you from the start as she reveals the truth about living full-time as nomads with only a carry-on and a small backpack. From hilarious, and scary, pet-sitting adventures to dealing with frequently changing foreign languages, to health issues, Chris tells it all. She opens up about the emotional challenges this lifestyle presents and shares how she and Steve negotiate a day-to-day life on the road. Some of the practical information (credit cards/banking/etc) is only for Americans, but everything else applies to everyone, if not in specifics then certainly in principle - staying healthy, travel planning, friendships, staying in touch with family, budgeting. It's all there. Along with some wonderful stories about life on the road - amazing places, serendipitous connections, and the pure joy and freedom of travel.
This inspiring book is half memoir, half how-to-nomad/longtime-travel.
I enjoyed both parts because it was fun to read about places I've also experienced and written about--and she got me intrigued by places I haven't been.
Beyond that, in the memoir portion, Chris opens up about the emotional struggle this lifestyle exacted on her. The vulnerability of that part of the book moved me, and I think it will help many people.
The second half of the book offers a treasure trove of resources. I'm blown away by how organized and resourceful she and Steve are--and also how much life they've lived in a mere few years of nomadic living.
Loved the book. I love the fact that you are a married couple, that enjoys traveling with one another and making it work!! There are a lot of great tips. Thank you!
