again: fun story, good interactions between the caracters.
I don't give it a 4star, because of the high level of explanations given to rhe reader It's very appreciated when caracters give a small summary of what happened previously, or retell the crumbs of a storyline. The amout of overly detailed reasoning in multiple conversations, was just unnecessary. It bordered on "mansplaining". I'm enjoying your book, I'm paying attention. You don't have to explain why, how and when things happen. I know... I've been there when you talked about it the first time.
The story starts 2 months after the previous book. Alexis has been practicing, but is making slower progress in comparison to the first week the first two books took place in. Mordecai in doing very good, and is growing in his "pack-hierarchy". Daisy is taking her training with Zorn serieus and it makes het growth just as believable as Mordecai's development.
Valen, Kieran's father, is a third pov character. There are moments where you learn more about his inner workings and how he views his son. When Amber, a Intuition-ist, goes to look for leads why two of Valen's spirit trappers have gone missing two months ago, it leads them, eventually, to Alexis and Kieran. Valen informs Mordecai's old pack that the boy is still alive. They try to hunt him, Alexis prevents that from happening. With her being in a though situation, she learns more about her powers. Her training with Brea get's set to a faster pace, as the Six and Kieran nitice that Valen is on to them.
They prepare for the battle where Kieran needs to defeat his father. In the time that has passed, he and Lexi have developed there relationship even further. They both choose independently from eachother, that they want to be with the other. When they discuss that development more seriously, their bond gets permanent, even though they don't really know what that means, and they can use eachothers power.
The book ends with the new reality for the city of San Francisco is no longer under the restrict control of Valen. Kieran is making himself loved/appreciated with the way he is handeling everything for the city. He claims not to want the position his father had, but the citizens really like him. He also introduces Alexis in to the magical world as his "marked" relationship partner. Somewhere on earth, Magnus and another person, hear a radio/news report about Alexis. They know where she is now. And Magnus knows Alexis is his daughter. He reviels to the reader , that her mother was decended from Zeus, and we already know Magnus comes from a line of Hades.

I bought this series as the Dramatized version instead of the regular version ONLY because it was only 1 book each. Compared to their normal (cash grab scheme) splitting them into 2 or more parts, which I hate that they do that. I only want 1 book per book. And because they were on sale. Otherwise, their prices are outrageous.
Pros to this version: 1. Each character has their own narrator, which is something regular audiobooks need to be doing. 2. The rearrangement of the scenes and paragraphs seemed necessary as the original writing seemed all over the place and the author should think about editing the original to match the dramatized version.
Cons: 1. They completely rearranged the whole thing. I can't follow along in the book. 2. Their "sexual" noises (moaning, kissing etc) are sooo fucking fake and just disturbing. They did cut out most of the sex scenes which I was glad for because skimming through them, they seemed stupid.
@ THE COMPANY--- IF YOU ARE GOING TO REARRANGE THE WHOLE BOOK, U NEED TO COME OUT WITH A SCRIPT TO FOLLOW ALONG.
This series is OK. I did almost DNF but decided to keep going. I do like the main characters, but in the dramatized version, I really do not like the male lead voice. The voice reminded me of an elderly man more than a powerful demigod love interest. This book in particular I was quite annoyed with the way they turned the main female character from a strong street Smart female that always had her wits about her into kind of a ditsy love struck marshmallow that seemed to want to ignore danger signs as soon as she got bedded/mated/marked by the demigod Kieran. Ahh well I will probably still finish the series…
Oh, how I wish I had been a fly on the wall to see the moment the others realized what Kieran had done. If you know, you know. Poor Brea was the only one who really saw an issue but that was due to her own judgement as she didn't know Kieran as well as his friends.
Still, Brea is such a fun character. I never get tired of her being involved.
But with one issue solved, another arises. One parent is taken care of but another is coming to cause his own array of issues.
Love, love love this series! Comedy, action and romance. I’ve been listening to the Graphic Audio. The FL’s voice is very annoying, however I pushed past book 1 and am over it completely.
Basic Plot: Lexie and Kieran hurtle toward a confrontation with Kieran's father.
An end and a beginning. This book clearly marked the end of the initial ploy arc of the series and set up the next arc. Lexie is coming into her power and it's fun to see her grow. The pacing for this book was decent, and the action fun. Breene is always good for a sense of humor added to good action. I look forward to the next installment.
Okay. I need to recommend against the all cast audiobook version though. It is confusingly made, and hard to know who says what. Would have been better done in Wes Anderson style. The actor playing Kieran also changes him to being super Irish towards the end of the book.
