".....বুঝলাম গল্পের গন্ধ ভেসে উঠেছে মানুষের পায়ের ধুলোয় ভারী হয়ে থাকা বাতাসে।"
কলকাতার একটা ছোট্ট পাড়ায় আছে একটা ছোটো ক্লাব। ছেলেরা মশগুল থাকে ক্যারম আর টিভি নিয়ে। এরই মধ্যে একজন প্রাজ্ঞ মানুষ আসেন ক্লাবে। বৈচিত্রপূর্ণ জীবন তাঁর। কর্মসূত্রে থেকেছেন বহু জায়গায়। সাক্ষী থেকেছেন প্রচুর অলৌকিক ঘটনার। কখনও পড়েছেন নিশির কবলে, আবার কখনও পাহাড়ের কোলে কোনো তান্ত্রিক দেবী তাঁকে ঘুরিয়ে মেরেছে। ক্লাবের সদস্যদের সেইসব গল্পই তিনি বলেন বেশ বৈঠকী মেজাজে।
বাংলা সাহিত্যের আদিকাল থেকে সাম্প্রতিক কাল পর্যন্ত আবির্ভাব ঘটেছে নানান "দাদা"-দের, ঠিক সেরকমই বর্তমানে সুলেখক মনীষ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের কলমে সৃষ্টি হয়েছে আরেকদাদা - সুপ্রিয় দা, পেশায় ব্যাঙ্ককর্মী, নেশা গল্প বলা। শ্রোতা পাড়ার ক্লাবের তরুণদল। সুপ্রিয়দার বিচিত্র জীবনে নানা জায়গায় তার অপশক্তির সাথে মোলাকাতের বিভিন্ন অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে রচিত হয়েছে এই বইয়ের চারটি গল্প ও একটি উপন্যাসিকা।
নিজের অভিজ্ঞতাবহুল জীবনে তিনি কখনো নিশির কবলে পড়েছেন, আবার কখনো কোনো পাহাড়ের কোলে এক অতীব রহস্যময় মন্দিরের এক অচেনা রহস্যময়ী অধিষ্ঠাত্রী দেবী তাকে রহস্যের মায়াজালে জড়িয়ে নিয়েছেন - বৈঠকী আমেজে শোনানো এই গল্পগুলো এমনই, যে শোনার পরে বিশ্বাস ও অবিশ্বাসের দোলাচলে পড়ে যায় শ্রোতা। নাম ভূমিকায় উপন্যাসিকাটি ভয়, অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ও সাসপেন্সের সফল মিশেলে কয়েকটি ভাগে বর্ণিত। প্রতিটি গল্পই একটা গা ছমছমে পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করেছে, যা প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত পাঠককে আটকে রাখবেই। প্রচ্ছদ এবং অলংকরণগুলিও যথাযথ। বর্তমান সময়ে তন্ত্র-মন্ত্রের Overloading থেকে সরে এসে ছিমছাম অলৌকিক পরিবেশের গল্প পড়তে চাইলে এই বইটা Must recommended.

This is the second book I have read by this author. It’s a collection written in Bengali and set in India. It features four short stories and one novella, all centered around the character Supriyada. “Supriyada” includes the respectful Bengali suffix “-da,” meaning “elder brother”. The title literally translates to The Blind Temple, and it is the cryptic charm of the book's title that piqued my interest.
Supriya, the protagonist, is a bank employee who has traveled extensively through rural and remote parts of India. Along the way, he encounters various supernatural phenomena and even a powerful occult practitioner. The author employs a classic Bengali horror/supernatural trope: Supriyada recounts his eerie experiences to a group of club members, most of whom eagerly soak in the tales.
The stories are engaging without being over-the-top. They are creepy, but not terrifying. The standout for me was the novella, which lends its name to the book. It explores more intense themes of dark arts and occult power. In this story, Supriyada accompanies a colleague-turned-friend to a remote mountainous region of India. Their mission is to clear the friend’s name, and for that they need to visit the Blind Temple, an ominous place where ancient dark rituals are performed, and where even accidental intrusions can lead to horrific consequences.
The book itself is shorter than a standard paperback, and the word count reflects that. Still, it makes for a quick, enjoyable read—perfect for a couple of hours when you're in the mood for something a bit eerie, but not too heavy.

পাড়ার ক্লাবের ছেলেদের কাছে নিজের বর্ণাঢ্য জীবনের নানা অভিজ্ঞতা গল্পের আকারে তুলে ধরেন তাদের সুপ্রিয়দা। তাঁরই বলা কয়েকটি আখ্যানের সংকলন এই বইটি।
একটি স্পষ্ট ও সুমিত ভূমিকার পর এতে আছে~
১. নিশির ডাক (গল্প);
২. প্রদীপ (গল্প);
৩. গুণিন (গল্প);
৪. টোকাই (গল্প);
৫. অন্ধ মন্দির (উপন্যাসিকা)।
এই গল্পগুলো অত্যন্ত সহজ ভঙ্গিতে বিনা ভণিতায় বলা হলেও এদের মধ্যে এমন কিছু বর্ণনা আছে, যা শিহরন জাগায়। চরিত্রগুলো একান্ত বাস্তবিক হওয়ায় ঘটনাগুলো আরও বেশি করে সম্ভাব্য বলে মনে হয়। তারা আমাদের আরও একবার মনে করিয়ে দেয়, বিপুল এ বিশ্বের অনেক কিছুই আজও আমাদের বোধবুদ্ধির অগম্যই থেকে গেছে।
বইটির ছাপা ও বানান শুদ্ধ। ওঙ্কারনাথ ভট্টাচার্যের অসাধারণ অলংকরণ গল্পগুলোকে ভারি সুন্দরভাবে জীবন্ত করে তুলেছে।
আলোজ্বলা পরিবেশের নিরাপত্তায় থেকেও যদি অন্ধকারকে ছুঁয়ে দেখতে চান, তাহলে এই ছিমছাম বইটি পড়তে পারেন।
