This book is a thoughtful exploration of how the nervous system and subtle energy systems are connected, and it offers a perspective that blends modern science with spiritual practice. The author does a great job explaining the vagus nerve in a way that is easy to follow without getting overly clinical. At the same time, the integration of chakra work provides a unique framework for understanding how energy and wellness intersect.

I especially appreciated the practical exercises and reflections, which made the material feel grounded and applicable in daily life. It is not just theory but an invitation to explore healing through both body and spirit. Some chapters felt a bit repetitive, but overall the flow of the book kept me engaged and encouraged deeper reflection on my own patterns.

This is a great resource for anyone curious about nervous system regulation, energy work, or holistic healing. It bridges worlds in a way that feels both compassionate and empowering.

This combines polyvagal theory with a sprinkle of internal family system and works through the chakra system. She stuck to more standard definitions of trauma as it would be described by the DSM which I appreciate. So often books in the metaphysical world can have definitions that seem too abstract and I find it pretty unethical to do so. I appreciated her staying within more professional definitions.

One important note is that when she does dive into chakras and where they become unaligned or disordered she hones in on very specific examples vs trying to be inclusive on many trauma or incidents. For that reason, I wouldn’t use this as your guide for chakras in general.

I got a lot out of this book and think it’s great to add to your collection of resources for all things somatic healing.
