The Planetary Magic Workbook: An Experimental Guide to Understanding and Working with the Classical Planets

Explore the nature of each planet, how it impacts your life, and how you can harness it for personal benefit. Soror Velchanes teaches you to work with the classical planets from Greco-Roman and Hermetic perspectives—but with a Qabala twist.

Optimized for self-study, this workbook divides each chapter into lecture and practice sections. After learning how the planets affect you, you'll perform ceremonial magic tailored to each one. Velchanes presents illustrations, journal prompts, guided meditations, attunements, evocations, and other practices in every chapter. She provides clear instruction and encouragement as you progress from planet to planet, including the moon and sun. This book shows you how the planets are associated with the Tree of Life, how to use the hexagram to balance planetary forces, and even how to create your own planetary rites.

Featuring Western and Eastern astrological traditions, this book helps you find spiritual enrichment, life balance, and more.

This is planetary magic written by somebody with an actual chaos magick brain, which means Velchanes teaches the traditional machinery and then immediately gives you permission to start taking it apart. Each planet gets study, meditation, attunement, evocation and ritual work, plus theres hexagrams, Qabalah, correspondences and enough journaling that you can actually see whether Saturn or Jupiter changed anything besides your opinion of Saturn or Jupiter. I especially liked that the end goal is making your own planetary rites instead of becoming permanently dependent on hers, teach me the machine and then let me start removing screws.

It was an intresting read. It pulls alot from ceremonial magic techniques when working with the planets. She gives some lovley meditations and rites for each planet. It will take 14momths to complete the book if you were to do everything she suggests. I only performed a few of the meditations and rites she provided for each planet as I haven't the time just now to do them all, but at somepoint I would like to go back and complete the book.
