This is an Erotica/BDSM Romance, and this is the first book in the Me, You, and Us series. I listen to the audibook of this book, and I have to say I hated the narrator of this book. I did not read a lot of Erotica Romance, and I cannot spoke to the BDSM parts. Of course, there is a ton of sex in this book. I enjoyed the story, but their was parts that I did not like at all. I have to say the narrator really made me give this book only a 2 stars. I was kindly provided an e-audiobook of this book by the publisher (Spectrum Audio) or author (Deanndra Hall) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Was there sex in this. Yes. A lot of it. Was it hot. Not really.
I know we’re supposed to feel bad for Clint but I didn’t and that’s the problem. Trish deserved so much better. She was just heartbroken by her ex husband who up and left her after 30 years of marriage. She stumbles into this lifestyle and then goes on this two week adventure with a hot younger man. I really liked the beginning. Trish was older but this young man wanted her. It was a nice change. An older woman, younger man, not a cougar situation. She was naturally submissive and he wanted her. But he treats her so badly. By this point I was just listening to find out what happened.
I don’t feel Trish and Clint belonged together. She deserved better but hey So it’s happily ever after??

One of the things that immediately drew me into Adventurous Me was the opening page. The book starts off with Trish throwing things at her husband's head in a fit of anger, and from there, I knew that this was going to be a passionate and emotional read. The writing is engaging and the characters are well-developed, making it easy for readers to get invested in their stories.
Trish is a relatable and likable character who is going through a major life change. Her husband's revelation has shattered her world, but she is determined to find herself again. When she meets Dave and is introduced to the world of BDSM, she is shocked but also intrigued. As she explores this new world, she discovers that she is a natural submissive and begins to find her confidence and self-worth.
Clint is the dom that Trish is paired with, and while he is initially cold and aloof towards her, they eventually develop a steamy and intense relationship. However, Clint has a dark past that he can't seem to move past, and this becomes a major obstacle in their relationship. As Trish falls for him, she must confront the possibility that they may not be able to be together.
The BDSM scenes in this book are very well-written and add an extra layer of depth to the story. They are not just there for shock value but are an integral part of Trish's journey of self-discovery. The author does a great job of portraying the BDSM lifestyle in a realistic and respectful manner, and the scenes are both erotic and emotional.
The only real criticism I have of Adventurous Me is that there were times when the plot was a bit hard to follow. The book jumps around in time and there are moments when I had to pause and figure out what was going on. However, this is a minor issue and does not detract from the overall quality of the book.
This book was a steamy and emotional read that will appeal to fans of erotic romance. Trish is a relatable and likable protagonist, and her journey of self-discovery is both erotic and emotional. December 11, 2016Adventurous Me provoked an angry reaction in me and I did not find it entertaining. In fact I had to put it down and walk away from my kindle several times just to get to the end. While I do enjoy steamy romance and even erotic romance, the key element for me in such books is the romance… I want the characters to have an emotional connection or for there to be love story involved, and this story was lacking in that aspect until the last 10% of the book. I also have an extremely hard time with sexual torture and abuse, and that is how I viewed much of the behavior described here. Nor can I work up respect for a woman who would allow herself to be pimped to a stranger for a sack of groceries - just to please a man she really did not know and who had repeatedly humiliated, rejected, degraded and caused her pain and physical harm. I found the female lead to be incredibly imprudent and idiotic to have repeatedly put herself at such risk in the name of adventure. I also found her to be lacking in self-respect to continue to consent to such treatment - and even beg for more - despite feeling dread and misery before and during half of their playtimes. I would not have said no, I would have said, "HELL NO!" But that is just me, I don’t get the submissive mentality, and even if consensual - torture and abuse distress me.

Adventurous Me is the first book I have read by author Deanndra Hall. But I can tell you, it definitely will not be my last. From the first page to the very last page I was completely hooked! I absolutely adore the main character, Trish. She proves that adventure and love have no boundaries no matter what your age is.
Trish is a 49yr old, who is in the process of being divorced after 30yrs of marriage. Her soon to be ex husband claims her to be "boring, tiresome, and predictable", so she sets out on a adventure to prove him and herself that she is anything but that.
While Trish is out drinking one night, trying to prove that regardless of her age she can still be adventurous, she falls into the lap (literally) of a man who is willing to show her just how adventurous and fun she can be, given the right circumstances. Trish is pulled into a world that she knew nothing about but embraces every single second of it. A world where she meets Clint.
Clint is a man that has been through a world of hurt. He's a man that gets thrown together with Trish to show her the ropes (yes, pun intended) of this new world that she is eager to explore. Together they learn many things about one another and about themselves as individuals.
This book has everything from sex appeal to heartbreak to happiness. This book is a must read, and also a book I see myself reading over and over.

Review I truly loved this book...From the start I felt so connected to Trish and Clint's journey together that I couldn't put this book down. Fresh out of a dull, boring and unloved 30 year marriage, Trish and her girlfriend meet Dave.....Dave plants the seed to join him at Bliss, a BDSM club....throwing caution to the wind, Trish leaves her vanilla world behind and embraces this new, dark and awakening world of erotica...a world where pain and pleasure coincide with punishment and obedience... She is paired up with Clint, her troubled Dom, who is a world of pain himself....can his sub, his little one, his Vannan, help heal him through his own damaged heart? I loved all the specific methods used by Clint in training Trish....I loved the little bits of the BDSM world being touched on...the collar ceremony...the scenes being played out...the training, whether behind closed doors or in public.....it was HOT....I was also so wrapped up in the love and hurt between these two and rooted for their HEA....Deanndra Hall completely rocked this book out of the ball park!!!!! This was my first book by Deanndra Hall. We met at an event last weekend and afterwards I came straight home to download something by her!
I loved this story! The story is about Trish, who was just left by her husband because she is "boring". In an effort to find adventure, she stumbles upon a man in a bar who directs her towards "Bliss" where she is introduced into the world of BDSM.
Naturally a submissive, this story is about Trish's training as well as her journey towards finding the right dom for her.
The sex scenes are HOT. Like, go ahead and grab a fan, and make sure to read this one alone or around a husband you can immediately pounce on. ;)
Character wise, I liked Trish, but I loved Clint. <3
This will definitely not be my last book by Deanndra, and I will be diving into more! :)

I got about halfway through this and just could not do it anymore. The narration was like listening to nails screech on a chalkboard. There was no romance, no heat, no sexiness. It was boring and robotic. That being said, thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Trish accepts and then starts training with Dave to learn and participate in the lifestyle, which she is starting to really enjoy.
After her training Trish is paired off with Clint, a member, for a two week period that all the subs go through so they can qualify to be collared by a Dom at the collaring ceremony in two weeks. It also gives the sub an idea what it will be like to live with a Dom.
You will love and hate Clint and his emotional baggage, and you will see how Trish is trying very hard to deal with it. and how much she gives of herself and what happens between them is full of emotional angst, heartache, sadness guilt and yet happiness also.

I was gifted a copy of this book.
One steamy read with a just the right amount of love is how I would describe this book. It was written really well and kept me turning pages from the very beginning. I could not put it down and finished it in just under three hours. Normally when I read erotica I feel I little detached from the characters especially when they are in a BDSM relationship, however that was not the case with these characters. I felt like I could see through their eyes what was going on and see into their mind on what they were going through. I was honestly surprised that I connected so well to the characters.
Trish makes an excellent female lead in this book that readers can relate to whether they have been through anything similar or not. She is on a quest to find herself after her husband leaves and that is something no matter the age that people in general go through. As the story moves on she becomes more sure of who she is and what she wants and learns to stand up for herself and becomes a very powerful female lead.
From the beginning you can tell that there is something different about Clint. You can tell by your first introduction to him in the book that there is something haunting him and as the story moves on you can't help but want to know what it is that tortures this beautiful man.
Trish and Clint's "relationship" starts out really rocky and has you holding your breath as they try to navigate the waters of a new BDSM relationship and fight their inner attractions. Clint will do anything to push her away and Trish will do anything to keep her agreement. It is a battle of the wills.
I give this book a 5 star rating ***** and I would highly recommend it to anyone over the age of eighteen.

Deanndra Hall once again delivered one of the best BDSM book story ever!!!!
When 49 year old Trish was left facing the reality that her husband or soon-to-be-ex-husband of 30 years is divorcing her because according to him she was boring, tiresome, and predictable she was not having non of that. Trish decided to show him she could be adventurous, fun and sexy. When she meets Dave she felt safe in his company. When Dave invites her to attend his club she was hesitant for a little then she decided to go for it, that is when she was introduced to a whole new life style she did not know deep down she was missing in her life.
Clint was a man of mystery, and when Dave asked him one night to trained Trish one night, things will never be the same. Clint has had his heart broken beyond repaired or so he thinks. He will have to learn to open up to this new opportunity life is giving him again.

I loved it. BDSM tastefully done and a scorching love story. I love chemistry between characters and this couple just made you feel the heat. Trish's husband leave her because apparently they have grown apart. I won't say she's boring, because she is anything but. She meets a man in a bar who invites her to a club called Bliss and that's exactly what she finds.....bliss. Amazing job at introducing Trish to the lifestyle, and the unique scenarious. I enjoyed this book immensely and loved the storyline. Clint showed her a sexy dominant side, and he was also messed up and broken. Great book, and great ending. Best entertainment ever....five stars.

I have always enjoyed Ms Hall's writing and this was no exception. I'm not sure I really liked the story all the way through, in fact there were bits that made me mad... but that was probably the point. I also laughed on occasion and even had a fair few tears too. So once again an emotional journey from this talented author.
I'm lucky enough to have the next in the series ready to go on my Kindle!

WOW-what a HOT, fun, emotional book!
It starts off with a SMASH and the momentum keeps building--I nearly finished it in one night.
Trish is a brave, complex character, and her sub/Dom relationship with the broken hero Clint is excruciating and sexy and heartbreaking and ultimately so great.
I'm not usually a fan of "darker" reads--this one was right at my limit. However, the "dark" situations amped up the emotional punch, so great work, DH! I'll definitely be reading more.

She is falling for the handsome, tortured soul, and she's hoping he's falling for her. But when a simple mistake puts her in harm's way at his hands, Trish has to decide: Is it an adventure worth dying for? And when everything falls apart, can she manage to forgive him? More importantly, can he forgive himself and bury the ghosts that have been haunting him for too long?
I listened to the audiobook of this one. I will go ahead and say that I am not the biggest fan of the Narrator. With that said it really go one my nerves listening to this one as Anneliese Rennie does the man and the woman voices and when she was the man I swear I cringed. I just don't like that. Why not have a man by the man and woman do the woman parts. Now I will admit that some people can do both voices but I wasn't the biggest fan or her doing both voices. At times it was cringe worthy. But I refused to let that take away from the story that I was listening too. Because I loved it. A story of an older woman in a marriage that has lasted a long time is different to most books you read or listen too. I loved the story. I sucked me in and had me right there. That place where all readers love for a book to take them. Since I wasn't a fan of the narrator I would have loved reading this one so much more than listening to it. I am giving the story five stars because Deanndra Hall deserves it. It's an amazing story. The narrator....not so much.

If Trish was boring, tiresome, and or predictable, I could not find it. She did things for the first time with gusto and excitement. Trish finds herself in a funk filled haze of "AmI?" swirling in her head because of an ex that had no cue. While in this funk she meets Dave. Dave introduces her to a world that she could have only imagined. Her first night at Bliss opens her eyes to that something that was missing from her world.
Trish finds that her new found her has a bit of kinky side. She finds that she is freer than ever. She finds an attraction that would lead to her world being changed forever. She also learns she is stronger than her ex gave her credit for. This was most certainly an adult story. There were floggers, gags, benches, public sex, stranger sex, humiliation and more. When presented with the opportunity to tutor Trish in the intricacies of the lifestyle he agrees despite the fact that she inspires feelings in him that he didn’t think he would ever feel again. When their time together comes to an end will they be each other’s salvation or downfall?
I really liked how Trish was able to push her boundaries and find what makes her happy and while some of his treatment of Trish was questionable, he does redeem himself in the end. To say I was intrigued is putting it mildly. I enjoy a good erotic story and add in some kink and I'm all in but this one had even me blushing at times. Trish has been told by her soon-to-be ex-husband of 30 years she is boring and while out drinking with her best friend she laments this to the bartender who tries to rid her of this notion and invites her to a club. Now she is intrigued. What happens next changes her life, in a meaningful way. Am I going to tell you, only that she meets Clint who has had some changes in his life and he does trust easy either and the chemistry these two put out is palpable but they both are running from it until they are literally tied together for two weeks. Great story, complicated story, and thought provoking story.

Adventurous Me is a toxic entry into the BDSM world. From the characters to the plot, all of it seems half-baked. Our main heroine is akin to Bella from Twilight and the borderline harmful situations that she allows herself to be put in give a very negative view of this kink. For a book so full of sex, it is surprisingly dull and boring.

Deanndra Hall managed to create characters that are completely believable, flawed yet completely likeable and sexy as hell. Trish is a woman who has been dumped, both emotionally and physically. Her husband has knocked her confidence. She has given him thirty years of her life, now she finds herself nearing fifty and alone.
With her friend Sheila in tow she hits the town aiming to drown her sorrows in vodka and misery. I immediately liked Trish; we first meet her firing things at her husband ‘s head as he leaves her. Even from the start we can see the spark within Trish that lies waiting just beneath the surface ready to burn.
When she meets Dave she takes a risk, and why not, she has nothing left to lose. Dave is a lovely character, a silver fox (what’s not to like) a complete gentleman who sees the minx in Trish waiting to be released. I really loved the fact that these characters were more mature than a lot of the young and insecure protagonists in recent erotic novels. It was refreshing to see women over thirty having some hardcore, down and dirty sexual exploits.
Dave introduces Trish to the BDSM scene in ‘Bliss’ club. At first Trish is shocked at what she sees, but excited too, and very, very turned on. Trish takes up the challenge to try a two week live-in with a Dom, this is when things really hot up!
Clint is the strong silent type. Desperate not to show any vulnerability he is all deep brooding looks and has a definite Alpha quality, which is of course a necessity for a Dom. And, did I mention, he is.. OH SO SEXY!! He treats Trish with respect and makes sure she knows that she is safe with him, while giving her the steamiest, most diverse sex of her life. If you like, spanking, Anal, hardcore screwing then this book is perfect for you.
Clint masters Trish in the most sexually torturous ways that leave her gasping and the reader, wriggling awkwardly in their seat. It is pain, but pain of the sweetest kind. It is scorching hot and like Trish, you will be panting for more!!
And then, just as you are coming out of a cold shower, it sucker punches you in the gut. Because as always, emotions come into play. Trish and Clint are falling in love, and it hurts like hell. Deanndra, let’s us get little glimpses of how these two are starting to fall, even before they know it themselves.
It all gets too much for Trish to bear and she walks away. But can Clint let her go? You will have to read ‘Adventurous me’ to find out. And trust ME, like a Sub and Dom trust each other, it will be worth every toe-curling, delicious page to get to the beautiful end.
So, I couldn’t give this book any less than the full 5 stars. Too often subs are portrayed as weak, bewildered and passive, and Doms as over aggressive, control freaks. Nothing could be further from the truth. I loved that the Trish was bratty, and had real power within the relationship, and that Clint had vulnerabilities. Getting the balance right in this genre is a real talent. Deanndra Hall has talent to spare. As for the sex, forgetaboutit!!!! You have never read sex as hot as this before!!!! Turn on the air con, you’re gonna need it!

I rec'd an ARC from the author for both these books. And found them to be very enlightening-unforgettable-moving- loaded with action-emotional-romantic and It's an OMG you have to read them both!!! I must say that Ms Hall has definitely done it again with this series if not more awesome than her series of Laying a Foundation. Her characters are so inspirational and very intriguing that you find yourself wondering of they are true life. The way she portrays them you believe that they are so real and life like . It is amazing- you just have to love them and want more of them and their story. And the scenes OMG you can see them exceptionally so well you feel as though you are there.

In this book you get to meet Trish, Clint, Dave and a few others. It is about a women by the name of Trish so was just told by her hubby that he wants a divorce- she is boring and unadventurous. Trish calls her bf Sheila and tells her what happened Shelia and Trish go out and while they are a bar- boy does Trish really get drunk. This is where she meets Dave. He tells her that if she wants to have a good time- then to meet him the following evening Trish decides to go- however her friend Shelia is unable to make it.
Trish goes to the club to meet Dave and boy does the fun ever start. It turns out that this club is a BSDM club. Dave takes her under his wing- and teaches her what she needs to know as a sub. Along the way during her training as a sub- she meets Clint.
This is the story of Trish and Clint and how they come to understand each other. Along with Trish becoming a sub.

Adventurous Me caught from the first few sentences. I was drawn in and knew I wouldn't stop reading until I finished it. Shortly into the story, I knew I needed a box of tissues to aide me through this story. This is a beautifully woven story about two broken souls who don't quite know what they want but both feel the need for each other.
The story starts with a bang, Trish's husband Ron announces that he is leaving her because she is boring. Nursing a broken heart she takes her bestfriend out for drinks only to find that she is truly searching for an adventure.
In that bar, she finds Dave. Dave is key to this story in his own way. He lets us into the characters heads and see what they may not neccasirly be seeing. When we first meet Dave, I feel like he is the protector of Trish. He agrees to train her and help her weave into BDSM.
Clint is broken and also nursing a broken heart. Trish hears rumors about him and his wife but nothing is ever confirmed. She feels an attraction to him the instant she sees him. I loved his cold demeanor towards her and how Deanndra weaved into his warmer side.
Adventurous Me is more than a BDSM story. While their is lots of hot sex, there is a deeper message within this story. Trish has never participated in anything kinky at all. She is completely new to the scene. You can absolutely tell that she is and it's believable throughout. I felt like I had joined the emotionally roller coaster with her as she went through ups and downs. This story is more than sex, it's a journey of two broken souls searching to mend them. I also loved that Trish isn't your average twenty-year old. She is considerably older and I think it really adds character to the story. I look forward to digging into more from Deanndra Hall. This is deeper than just a book review, this is a thank you for a touching story that will become a favorite of mine for years. It is rare to find a story that hits a raw note. breaks your heart, has you cheering, and in the end brings joyous tears.

I love Deanndra Hall's books. She has a way of making everyone sexy. This book is the same way. I loved following Trish's journey as her life went from destroyed to redeemed between the pages. This story made me laugh, cry, and curse out loud at point in the story. These characters become so real, you forget you are reading a book. I found myself rooting for her, hoping beyond hope that her story would have a good ending. I guess you will have to read it to find out.
When the story begins, we meet Trish. She is a 49 year old woman who has been married to Ron for 30 years. He has decided that she is "boring" and "tedious". She decides to hit the bar with her best friend Sheila, her keeper for the evening. She falls into Dave's arms, sharing with him that she needs an adventure. After Dave hears her story, he tells her that Ron was wrong for blaming her, and that he might have just the adventure she needs. He leaves her with a card, telling her to come the next day and start that adventure. She goes to Bliss, the BDSM club Dave is a member of, and at first she is scared to death. She wanders around a bit and realizes that it turns her on. Unwilling to give up, she allows Dave to mentor her training as a submissive. Dave spends a few months teaching her everything about the lifestyle, and mentions an event coming up where 2 people are randomly paired for 2 weeks to live as Dom and sub. Nervously, she agrees and ends up with Clint. He is a 35 year old man that she is attracted to, but he has been a bit stand offish. He has his own demons to slay, and shakes her up with his hot and cold treatment. Will she make it the whole 2 weeks? How far will Clint go to prove she is no good? Can his demons cost her her life?
You have got to run and grab this book! It is so hot, their couplings so off the charts sexy, you will not be able to put this book down. And grab the tissues, because her journey will put your emotions through the ringer, it will leave you with a major book hangover. But, I loved it so much, I read it twice in two days. Yes, its that good!
