One of the very best mm romances I have ever read!
First off these two MCs are not only amazing but pretty unique as well. Throw in major league feels, plenty of tears and it's quite the ride! The story is wonderfully layered with plenty of detail and complexity. With a supporting cast of great secondary characters. Over all one heck of a story!

Fulton is thirty-four-and-a-half-year-old, why the half? Ha, read it yourself.
He finds himself damaged and unlovable. No one stays, they always walk away.
After a highly intense few hours with a beautiful stranger who left fast afterward, Fulton is left alone, again. This time with great memories.
It’s been two months and Bishop is almost completely settled in Brookhaven, his animal shelter is almost finished, and no one has recognized him so far.
He still remembers his very first day arriving here, meeting Fulton was everything, leaving him, ugh. He has to remember himself, he’s here for a new start and not for love.
How Fulton feels about himself goes deep, he just can’t keep any guy. He keeps telling himself he’s happy with his cats at home and his friends, colleagues and animals at work.
When Filton and Bishop meet again it’s because of an injured animal. That’s how Bishop understands Fulton is a vet, an animal lover, what are the odds!
Fulton and Bishop are different but have so much in common. Their love for animals is one thing, they both have secrets, both have to live with the hurt from their past, they are strong, beautiful and so so kind.
This is so much more than a simple romance, I don’t want give away too many details but there is a whole fucking world hidden behind a beautiful person and a kind smile, there’s humor, friendship, forgiveness, trauma, healing, second chances, deep connection, peeling off layers and walls, the results of opening up are incredible and so magnificent fulfilling.
The story has just a beautiful balance of hurt, comfort, sexiness, and sweetness, it was all palpable. Wait for the moment when Bishop meets Harry! I cried my eyes out.
The whole story was sweet, low angst, and immensely kind, mature, and considerate. Bishop and Fulton are a pair to remember, sweet, sexy, and real. All the feels!!
Of course, we meet the other people from The Vet Shop Boys. Can’t wait for the next installment about Gus!

2.5 rounded down because I just gave 3 stars to Gregory Ashe and his book was superior to this one (that may not be sound logic but I'm sticking with it).
What I enjoyed/loved Both MCs have interesting life story and quirks, they read as real people. They communicated really well and the relationship visibly deepened as revelations were made in a believable timeframe: I'm a firm believer that no one owes other people their life story upon meeting so I really want to emphasize that. The reader was also kept in the dark at the beginning which kept me interested in knowing more. I liked Fulton's friend group even though I haven't read book 1, I wasn't lost.
What I liked less The MCs has a heavy past but in the present they were too perfect. Bishop was WAY too patient and his business venture worked too smoothly for a newb. Something that I've already seen in 3 other books and that also bothered me here . The writing is a bit OTT, I mean the situation is pretty standard or nice but the writing talks about "earth shattering", "life altering" and that felt like too much for the moment (it happened several times). Last month I read a novella from this author (part of the giveaway) and I noticed that in it some scenes were cut seemingly in the middle. I mean we are in a scene and cut to the other chapter which takes place the next day. That was confusing there and happened a bit here (albeit less frequently, thank goodness). Finally, I wasn't a fan of the resolution of Bishop's family situation. I won't say more but that I was a bit too pink colored glasses for me.
All in all a pleasant story but I wish we had seen more animals (Fulton is a vet and Bishop has an animal shelter).

Fulton and Bishop are different yet have so much in common. Their love for animals, they both have secrets, both have to live with hurts from their past, they are both strong, beautiful and kind. This is much more than a simple romance. There is a whole world hidden behind each of these beautiful people. There’s humor, friendship, forgiveness, trauma, healing, second chances, deep connection, peeling away layers and walls with the hopeful results of opening up something incredible, magnificent and fulfilling. The story is a beautiful balance of hurt, comfort, sexiness, and sweetness. Just wait for the moment when Bishop meets Harry! It is so worth it. The entire story is sweet, low angst, mature, and considerate. Bishop and Fulton are a pair to remember, and you'll meet them again throughout the series.

I ‘be loved every book that I’ve read in this series. They’re just like a warm fuzzy blanket on a cold winter’s day. If you need an uplifting story to make you feel better, or just love a sweet low angst story then I highly recommend this book.

This is a light story about Fulton, a lonely veterinarian with many cats, and Bishop, a retired porn star trying to start an animal shelter. Both men have interesting backstories, they actually communicate, and there are enough minor obstacles and quirks to feel interesting.
The vet part is very lightweight, and despite a few odd wording choices, gave a fun background to the story without diving into the intensity it might've had. Likewise, the shelter details were skimped over, and things went remarkably smoothly. Running a shelter is a hell of a lot of hard work and heartbreak, and this went more to the cute and successful end, despite Bishop's lack of experience and money. The focus is definitely on the romance.
I liked Fulton's unique take on his own issues, and how Bishop's ex-profession impacted the story. There could've been more intense feels, but if you're looking for a feel-good romance and like pets, (and are willing to believe a vet who says his eight cats will all have no problems with a dog in their house) then this may be worth a try.

this was sweet and a great read, no angst? and a little too smooth sailing for me. a satisfying read, at the same time not for me.
i love seeing Fulton healing and Bishop growing. its wonderful.
++ was the respecting of boundaries and asking for permission, it was so beautiful and sexy.
i would love to have more cats interactions tbh. it was disappointing. we have more Scrappy the dog interactions instead (not a complain, just that blurb????)
ps i actually thought "Bishop" was a priest and i was sooo interested, only to find its a name haha.

This is a sweet, lovey, low angst comforting book. Both characters are really nice/quirky/perfectly suited with slightly difficult pasts to overcome with the help of each other. The book flows nicely and never felt like it lagged.

I loved the first book in this series and I was excited to read Fulton’s book because I liked him in Noah’s book. Even though the writing was great and it was easy to read it didn’t quite measure up to how good I thought it would be. I liked both of the MCs, they were both great guys but I just felt like they both had so many things going on with them. Almost like that “everything but the kitchen sink” kind of feeling. I mean Bishop was an ex porn star who is a recovering alcoholic after growing up in the foster system and has a brother that’s an addict also. Oh and don’t forget he was homeless once and now he lives in his car. Not to mention Fulton is a guy who lives in a giant cat jungle gym and went through a horrid accident as a child leaving him scarred. I get you want the characters to be working through some stuff but I feel like a few of those things could have been left out. Honestly the book was kind of boring to me, sure I laughed at times because the author is pretty witty but with as many issues as these guys had I was thinking it would have at least a little angst but there was none! Just smooth sailing and I found myself skimming after a certain point. Gus’ book is next and I’m excited for it but something in my gut is telling me his will be a MMM book with Tate and Tyler and I really hope that’s not the case because I most likely won’t read it. MMM is not really my jam. Anyway this book was ok, not the greatest but the writings great and people who love cats might appreciate it more.

Got me Wishing is the second volume in the Vet Shop Boys series and introduces us to Noah’s best friend, Fulton, the crazy cat guy. Fulton, out of the four men in the friend group, is also the unluckiest in love. Well, except for Gus, whose fiance cheated on him on his wedding day, but at least he had someone. Fulton hasn’t had anyone in … a while. It’s not that he’s not charming or lacks the confidence, sort of. It’s just that he’s shy about opening up to anyone. Of all the men who have seen him naked, only Noah, his best friend, hasn’t run away. So now Fulton covers up his insecurities with smiles, T-shirts, and manties. After all, if a guy is too busy looking at Fulton’s package in sheer, lacy underwear, they’re not as inclined to look at what he doesn’t want them to see.

This is the second book of the series and I am enjoying them all. In this one we meet Fulton and Bishop. They met when Fulton was in the park celebrating his half birthday; this is what he does as his birthday falls on Christmas Day. They got together but Bishop ran out on him. Bishop came to town to open up an animal shelter. They meet up again months later when Bishop saves a dog that was wandering around the road and their relationship starts from there. Bishop opens up to Fulton about his past. Great chemistry between them. I cannot wait for the next one.

Fulton was an intriguing character in Book 1 so I felt compelled to read his story and find out his secret. I’m a sucker for a secretly damaged character and hurt/comfort trope. This one had the potential to be amazing but it just didn’t delve deep enough on an emotional level for me. Bishop’s character never appealed to me, his backstory felt superficial and he had all this history to give him depth and interest but on page his character was too perfect and plain boring. The animal shelter idea felt flat, I couldn’t believe him setting that up with absolutely no capital would ever work? How does he even feed those stray animals with no money in his bank account?? I liked Fulton’s crazy cat style but my brain got tired reading about his insecurities. So much telling in this one. My brain is telling me not to read Gus’s story but with the way the author has described him and all that’s happened I must know what goes on with him!

This author, and this series get better with every book that is put out! Fulton and Bishop had my emotions running high with how incredible they were. The underlying message of this book to me was all about letting go of the past and embracing the future. The imperfections that make us all feel inadequate, are what make us unique and interesting. Bishop and Fulton had great chemistry from the moment they met and the Universe found a way to make sure that they met again so that it could continue. These characters were incredibly supportive of each other and their focus on the here and now allowed them to experience love and acceptance in a way that they never thought was possible.

Fulton was so awesome. He was fun in the first book, and appeared to be the fun guy, but seeing his in his own light, I loved him even more. He was sweet and fun and adorable. Bishop was a great guy, too. He had a heart of gold, but was trying to start his life over in the new town. I loved watching them come together and find healing together. I am really enjoying this newer series by Casey Cox. This was a 4.5 star read for me.

This was sweet and funny. Fulton and Bishop both had some physical issues that they weren't all that happy about, and they were holding the guys back, but Bishop and Fulton really managed to heal themselves.
I love how accepting each of them are of the other. It was really healing and it gave the story a lot of depth and a lot of love.

This is a modern queer romance, the third book in a series that should be read in order. I am rather enjoying this series about a bunch of vets! This book involves two quirky MC’s that fall in love while thinking they are not worthy of such. Great emotional story!

A veterinarian with a traumatic past; a new guy in town who used to be a porn star; lots of animals... I mean, on the surface this has the makings of a good book. Unfortunately, I find it relatively unsuccessful, primarily due to the writing: there's a lot of telling going on and not much showing. The story never really goes in any unexpected directions - we know exactly what we're going to get from the very beginning. Even when one character introduces us to "Harry" (seriously, great idea but bizarre execution), and both characters have unexpected sexual preferences, it's not a surprise. I also find myself struggling to suspend my disbelief at a character actually being successful at running an animal rescue... with no business experience... or savings... or donations... or experience with animals. Like, what?
Also, this book has a weird obsession with manties. I totally understand people having a panty fetish - this is not exactly uncommon - but nobody actually says "manty" in the real world. At least, nobody I've ever met. Or seen online. Who was queer. And identified as a man. Sigh.
Overall, this is a big pass for me. I may attempt another book in this series but... probably not tbh. Recommended (but not really) if you're looking for characters with traumatic pasts; burn victims; former porn stars; animals galore; veterinarians; panties (I refuse to say "manties" dang it).

Come nel caso del primo libro della serie, questo romanzo mi ha regalato una storia che è una coccola per il cuore.
Il solito gruppo di amici/veterinari è solido e coeso e i due protagonisti, Fulton e Bishop, sono uomini meravigliosi, dal passato difficile, che però non ha intaccato la bellezza dei loro animi.
La narrazione è lineare e placida, ma avvincente per l'intensità delle emozioni che regala e per la profondità delle riflessioni che stimola.
Sviluppato in modo originale il tema dell'accettazione di se stessi a prescindere dai parametri imposti dagli altri. Due punti di vista opposti, due esperienze di vita totalmente differenti, due sofferenze ugualmente intense. L'oggettivizzazione della persona e l'incapacità di vedere oltre l'apparenza sono due piaghe dei rapporti interpersonali che emergono in modo netto dalla lettura e mi hanno spinta ad analizzare, più a fondo e con spirito critico, la conseguenza di comportamenti che spesso attuiamo senza neanche pensare.
Si parla anche di dipendenza e di perdono, in una luce realistica ma in grado di fornire speranza, cosa che ho apprezzato molto.
Le pagine scorrono fluide e accattivanti, grazie a dialoghi frizzanti e a personaggi degni di nota.
Una bella conferma.

Liked it a lot.
I actually really enjoyed this one. It was not a life changing story but I enjoyed the personal growth from the characters.
They both dealt with body issues. Although they were very different situations, they both had dealt with a lot of judgment. I liked that throughout the book they learned to love themselves and trust each other.
I actually really enjoyed this one. It was not a life changing story but I enjoyed the personal growth from the characters.
They both dealt with body issues. Although they were very different situations, they both had dealt with a lot of judgment. I liked that throughout the book they learned to love themselves and trust each other.

A pretty good second book in a series. I enjoyed meeting the characters and learning more for their back story. Will read the next book. I have to find out what happens for the next couple. 4⭐️

As much as I adored the beginning book in this series? Got Me Wishing just made the series and universe even better.
It brought in heavier themes such as addiction, animal abuse, forgiveness, redemption. It even weaves in kink shaming and how the judgements you make impact others. All done very sensitively and beautifully by the way. All while allowing the romance to remain center stage.
Yes, this story unpacks a lot besides a very romantic and emotionally rewarding love affair turned HEA.
Fulton Meyer, 34 yo vet, BFF to Noah Walters ((Got Me Hoping #1), immediately turned into a favorite character of mine out of all the vets and peripheral people in and around the Vet Shop Boys Animal Clinic.
Prone to snarky lines, a funky fashion sense, and a seemingly endless supply of great t-shirts from Etsy that proclaim things like “I Kissed A Pug And I Liked It ~Kitty Purry”😂🙌… well there was just something about Fulton!
He needed his HEA! Plus there was some mystery going on as to why no man had ever stuck around.
Now in Got Me Wishing we get Fulton’s story. Casey Cox delivers the painful personal history that has made him who he is today, including the fact he’s so lonely. Except for all his cats of course. All eight of them.
Into Fulton’s crazy life comes Bishop Turner in one adorable “meet cute” scene turned lusty!
From poignant to adorable to funny to sexy, this introduces shouts destiny!
Trust me, you’ll be into this couple as quickly as they are … uh hem… into each other.
But the relationship? And actually getting to know one another? Each other’s layers? That take time .
This is a story of trust earned, pasts revealed, and love that comes slowly to those that need and deserve it.
I just love everything about this story. Beautiful elements, new characters, so many thoughtful moments between Fulton and Bishop as they explore their romance and future, as well as open up about their past.
If this is any indication where the rest of the series and romances are headed, I can’t wait.
Next up is poor befuddled, broken hearted Gus.
I highly recommend every story and in the order written. Take the journey with all the Vet Shop Boys. It’s one I myself am eagerly anticipating.

I enjoy this series, and this one was in my opinion better than the the first one.
I liked Bishop and how careful he was with Fulton. I did pick his previous employment early but I was happy with how this was handled. I liked that the author showed his uncomfortableness in certain situations. I enjoyed that he did his research into the rescue and worked towards helping the unwanted animals
Fulton was a treat. I loved how he had transformed his house to be a sanctuary for the cats. The way his self confidence issues were handled was well done. There wasn't a quick fix and time was spent getting him comfortable.
This was a little on the kinky side at times and that worked with Fulton's personality
Looking forward to Gus' story next

Listen… I tried. I tried SO hard to enjoy all of this book.
There were lots that I really enjoyed here and also lots that just didn’t work for me. First off, I’m not really into the instant love that happens here all within the first 2 chapters. I can understand how it’s enjoyable to some but not ti me. Every part of this story seemed way overly fabricated for me to really get into it.
The main things that I really loved here though, were the themes of acceptable and unwavering love and admiration between these two characters. I really liked Bishop and his personality, and I think that’s what salvaged 3 stars.
What would have helped herd: less on page time for supporting characters, more angst and build up to the sexual tension, and more actually steamy scenes.
