Jack’s devotion to Suzy’s pleasure is easily the main plot of this story. The man has priorities. Apparently, women might just want a demon who is obsessed with making them orgasm. Their attraction moves at supernatural speed. The timeline works perfectly for a short monster erotica novella built around one very eventful Halloween night. The sex is plentiful, Jack is eager, and Layla Fae never pretends readers showed up for anything less.

Some of the writing and plot choices crossed from playful into cheesy territory. The biggest disappointment came from the solution to Jack and Suzy’s impending separation. Jack can stay with her permanently if he gets her pregnant. I wanted more for their happily ever. Their relationship was fun enough that I would have preferred a resolution centered on their connection rather than reproduction.

The humor helped sell the silliness. The pumpkin spice syrup bottled directly from Jack’s tap with a warning that it may contain demon was hilarious. That ending perfectly captures what worked about the novella. It is horny, ridiculous, festive, and completely committed to the joke.

Jack delivers exactly what its cover and blurb promise. Do not pick this up if you are looking for a serious paranormal romance because you will find the writing a little too cheesy. You will have a very good time if you are craving a short Halloween monster romance with ridiculous humor, an orgasm obsessed pumpkin demon, and plenty of spice.
