This book was a total let down. The first 7 were good but the last 2 were really bad. I’m really sorry, I though I had finally found an author I liked, but I’m done.

One word "Disappointment"
The first 5 books were good to great but it feels like the author just gave up on books 6-9. This last was the worst of the bunch. But I wanted to complete the series.

There's something special about ending a series with a bit of heartbreak. Of not having everything splendidly wrapped up and tied with a pretty satin ribbon. I think I liked it because it's part of reality that many books don't end on-- that not everything works out perfectly. We often end a series and wonder how the characters lives continue beyond the end point. Usually, it's with some sort of happily ever after, or at least comfy contentment. Not Lance, or Tatyana or Laurel or even Levi. And that's pretty cool. Life isn't all cupcakes and rainbows anyway.

Too many loose ends
It seems that the author may have been tired of Lance Spector. It was all too mechanical almost as though we were reading the outline of the book. Then in mid stride, it stopped. The end. That’s all folks.

This was a Great Read
I am certain that I have read it before (that's a + of getting old) but I can't remember exactly when.
I thought Herzog's character development was "spot on" & made me feel that I was standing beside Lance as he moved through this !! Even the interview with the Russian (I'm sorry but I've forgotten his name & I'm not "tech savvy" enough to pause this & go back to search for it !) While waiting for Molotov, gave me a genuine feeling that I was in the room !! I thought that if Lance & he were to meet somewhere, each with a different mission, they would could have a conversation, although a tense one, and not 'break the rules of engagement' !!
I also think that Herzog left several "open threads" to be able to continue this into several "follow up" books which I will seek out next !!
Again, I really enjoyed this book & greatly recommend it !!

the untamable beast is back...!
but with so much personal style and such bottomless determination, you hardly notice how much he resembles a pit bull. don't ever play a game with this guy. he won't lose. but yet, he has a thing for hungry cats. and poor people. and abused victims of every evil known to man. and those who commit those evils are as doomed as their own victims. they write themselves into a line of Spector's personal ledger and if it takes him a lifetime, there will be reckoning... swift. merciless. expertly accurate. is that what you want from a murder mystery? Saul Herzog is the guy to ask. he writes them because he can...

Thrilling Thriller
Great finish to the Lance Spector series.
Though I do admit that I would be more than happy to read another.
Lance, a CIA Special Ops assassin, goes off the books to look into the case of a missing
woman who he thinks just might be his sister who went missing with his mother, over
20 years ago.
What he finds draws him into a local sex ring with woman being tortured, raped,
killed or sold.
Gruesome in parts but completely riveting in suspense and non stop action.
Spector and his team partners are a fascinating story themselves.
Great read.

Very good finish to a very good series, easy to follow, well written, completes Lance’s arc perfectly. Some may complain that other characters don’t get that finality. But this was a lance spector story through and through. My favorite thing about Saul, is the afterwards he wrote to give historic significance to the locations and referenced timelines I. The book. It’s fantastic the way he communicates with the reader. Well done Saul.

The Station was Good
I liked this story. It wrapped things up. However, it did leave things open, so another book could be written. I find these books to be filled with drama, action, suspense, and emotion. After nine books, I feel like I know Lance Spector, Levi Roth, Laurel Everlane, and Tatiana personally. I'm invested in their life and want to know what is going to happen next.

Closure for a good book series
Lance Spector made for great reading through the 9 book series. I like that he is brutal and effective at his job, but it's still just a job... he's not an out of control killer. All the stories were interesting and kept me coming back... maybe because Russia is back in the geopolitical realm here in the real world...da#n pinko commies! If you like Jack Reacher and Scott Harvath, you'll really enjoy Lance Spector!

All loose ends connected and concluded
Reading books earlier in this series helped me understand this ninth and final Lance Spector story/fairy tale. Well....why not? Headline rumors about Russia become reality for this episode. Again .... why not? I shall remember Lance as a talented and righteous assassin.

great ride
What an awesome finish to the series. The story was all you d expect with many twists and turns that leave you turning page after page, unwilling to put it down. It brings a satisfying conclusion to the series. Herzog at his finest. You have to read it. I m excited for what’s to come from this amazing author. Thank you for sharing Lance Spector with us!

I hoped this book was going to be a barnstormer. It was. No, I’m not saying anything about it that would disclose characters, plots or sub-plots. Well, safe to say…I was treated to one hell of a barnstormer. Great job, Saul! Looking forward to #10.

Brilliant series. I used to think if I was ever in a tight spot I'd ring Jack Bauer. It would have to be Lance Spector now. Little bit different in terms of allies although just as fast moving and as ever good story. Love it.

Saul Herzog is a one of a kind writer that only comes around once in a lifetime. He is an amazingly gifted writer and I hope he continues to write for many years. I will read every one of his books. The Lance Specter series is phenomenal. I would be honored if he replied to my email.

Great Ending
I have followed all the Lance Spector books by Saul Herzog since book 1 and am sad this will be the end of the series. This last book was great, and brings a nice ending to the series. I will be looking forward to other book series by Saul Herzog.

This was probably the best Lance Spector book. It didn’t wrap up the series the way I’d originally expected but I was also wondering how Mr Herzog could possibly end the entire Russia saga, so this was a good way of bringing closure.

Wonderful series

A great read. Moves at breakneck speed. My only objection to Saul Herzog's latest Lance Spector novel is that it's going to be his last. I will genuinely miss the series.

Excellent ending to a great series. Ot also leaves an opening to reappearance of Spector in the future. My only comment: the middle of the story is too long.
