Find the Truth. Survive the Games. Break the Crown.
Saoirse and Rook survived the Tournament, but their hearts were left behind in the arena...
After fleeing the city of Coarinth and joining Princess Hasana's rebellion, Rook and Saoirse find themselves thrust into a new game more perilous than any trial they faced in the Stone Circle. Saoirse entered the Tournament to save her people, but now she must save the world. With her blossoming relationship severed and her kingdom in ruins, Saoirse embarks on a dangerous heist into the Under Kingdom to steal the last free Relic before the Sea Witch can resurrect the Titans⸺malicious divine beings thought to have been destroyed long ago.
Still reeling from the truth of Saoirse's secret bargain with Selussa, Rook runs from the shadows of his past and navigates his pain alone. With his tyrannical sister Raven declaring war on Hasana's rebellion, his heart is torn between loyalty to his kingdom and the darkness threatening to consume all of Revelore.
As Saoirse and Rook voyage across the world⸺facing ancient prophecies, mythical monsters, and the games of mad kings⸺they must unravel a labyrinth of lies before more vicious gods rise to devour their world. But as unexpected betrayals unfold and the rebellion's plans crumble, they must overcome their pasts to save the future before they become forgotten myths themselves...
Hi friends! I am not on Goodreads often, but please feel free to contact me at abigailhairbooks.com :)
When I published my debut novel From the Mouths of Sirens in May 2022, I fulfilled my lifelong dream of being a published author. My love of fantasy began at an early age and I’ve been writing about fairies, unicorns, and mermaids all my life! I’m currently writing the sequel to From the Mouths of Sirens, which will be available in July 2024 :)
When I am not writing or reading, I'm most likely playing with my two puppies, creating digital artwork, or watching too much television with my husband.
As a writer myself, I know how hard sequels are. And Abigail did phenomenally. Everything she set out to accomplish with this one, she did. Absolutely loved every moment and am so excited for the next book in the series!! I loved seeing the characters, plot, and world building further developed. The editing was also great, and made this book so much better than the first one in that regard. So good. Definitely worth the wait of two years!
Wow, what an amazing sequel! I'll be honest it was quite slow going at first but once I was hooked, I was really hooked! Loved it. It definitely had a different vibe to book 1, but in a good way. It was its own story. Loved being back with the characters though, and meeting new ones along the way. I should have seen some of the twists coming, but I didn't. A really well written series so far. Loved how the ending set up for going into book 3. Can't wait for that one! Sequels are hard to write so well done to the author.
Let me start by saying, the world building in this series is insane!!
Without giving any spoilers, all I’ll say is, I love all the truths and reveals in this book. It follows on very nicely from FTMOS, explains a lot of unanswered questions from the first book, but also raises more questions that I can’t wait to find out the answer to in the third and final book.
There were quite a few twists towards the end and I feel proud to say, I had a feeling they would happen. So well written.
Definitely recommend the read.
Abigail, please let us know when book three will be out. 2 years feels like such a long time to wait.
Wow! What a whirlwind. For the first half of the book, I kept thinking they were too lucky; too much was going their way. Boy howdy did that change in the second half!
I loved the foreshadowing throughout the book. I dual POV is so great! I like catching on to little things the characters do and habits they have.
I feel like it was entertaining throughout. I didn't feel like there was any slow or lagging parts. It was fast paced and engaging throughout.
I hate that the author always leaves us on a massive cliffhanger, but it surely does get me excited for the next book!!
4 ⭐️ This sequel was a bit disappointing. Most of the book was very slow-paced and I just couldn't get into it. Not much was happening and I was just very bored. But the last 150 pages were really good and action-packed! I won't give any spoilers but it does get really intense and the plot twists are pretty wild. Also, I just loved Rook and Saiorse. There was this one scene at the end that was just amazing with them both. So overall this book was alright.
Back in 2023 I read the first book of this duet. It was not great, but just good enough for me to want to read the second, this book, to find out with happens to Saoirse and Rook. Yeah… Nope. Such a quick DNF at 11%.
I give this book 4 1/2 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this book the trails and twists and turns but to leave us hanging till the next book I need it now lol but this was a great read
