The Germans’ transmissions are in her hands. Will she be enough to save her loved ones’ lives?
England, 1944. On a classified Navy base situated atop the cliffs of Dover, telegraph operator Katie Kingston toils day and night intercepting and translating enemy transmissions in Morse Code, hunting for the next piece of information that will give Britain the edge in the ongoing war.
But as the entire base quietly prepares for Britain’s most daring operation yet, Katie has more at stake than her fellow telegraphists. Because among the allied forces due to land on the shores of Normandy in Operation Overlord is Special Forces Lt. Ciaran McElroy, an Irishman who has stolen her heart.
With her family left behind in Blitz-torn London and her beloved Ciaran far off on enemy soil, Katie knows her job has never been more important. After all, what is she fighting for if not to keep them safe?
A dazzling story of love and courage in WWII, this anticipated third installment of Deb Stratas’ Kingston Sisters books is perfect for fans of Kate Quinn and Sara Ackerman.
I tell well-researched and highly readable stories about powerful women in extraordinary circumstances. Readers are transported to other times and places, inspired to be authentic in their own lives.
As a proud British royalist, I've been fascinated with the English monarchy - from the early days of the War of the Roses, through the Tudor era, the trials and triumphs of England during World War II, and the current royal House of Windsor.
In researching England, I've developed a strong passion for the brave women of World War II. What they did was nothing short of heroic - sending their husbands and sons off to fight, dealing with rationing, long queues, and the terror of bombing and its aftermath while looking after the home. And starting in 1941, they were conscripted to work in the forces, factories, or fields.
So, I started writing a series about young women facing numerous challenges in wartime London. My latest book is the first in my Bletchley Park series: The Unquiet Translator, about a young linguistics student recruited to work at the home of the codebreakers - Bletchley Park. Watch for books 2 and 3, which follow Violet's sister, Fern and cousin Isabelle.
The War Twins of London, A Burning London Sky, and The Code Girl from London follow sisters in dangerous roles - fighting for love, family, and life itself. The final book in the series is Christmas with the Kingston Girls, focusing on the family's wartime Christmases.
Having read many books about Diana, Princess of Wales, I decided to write the book I always wanted to read - one that would capture the thoughts and feelings of this young Princess during her extraordinary royal life. Explore them through my Diana Spencer series and At Home with Diana.
I share more about the childhood of the Duke of Windsor and his mindset when he abdicated in The Royal Key. I combined this with a modern-day love story about Annabelle and her healing journey. The Time Traveller's Wife meets Downton Abbey in this time travel story.
A well versed recap of life during and of WWII. The struggles and sacrifices made at home in England as Germany attacked it. The life after affected everyone who lived there. The resolve they had to fight for freedom brought out the best in them.
This was the third and final book in this charming series about a family who endures WWII in England. This book focuses on the youngest daughter, Katie, her service as a translator or German code during the war, and the love she finds when she least expected it. Loved it
The Code Girl From London: A WW11 Historical Fiction Novel
The third and final novel of the Kingston family ends with the ending of WW11. This series includes the whole war and how British women in all services helped the war effort. In this book she worked for the Navy both in secret and and regular Secretary jobs. If you like books about what life was like in Britain during WW11 you should red this series.
During the first chapter , I almost stopped reading. I am glad I didnt. This book explained life through the eyes of the British people during WW II. Interesting, numerous twists and great excitement. Also a view of British life during the war.
Loved this story. Had a wonderful big family to follow through the ending of the war. Enjoyed reading of what the setting may have looked like during the war
A great war fictional story that highlighted the situation and time and gave a lot of insight into the world of war and the hardship they lived through.
Loved each book in this trilogy! I feel like I know this family personally. I would definitely recommend this book (and the other two) to my friends and family!
This book gave an excellent insight into the part women played in WW2. It has an excellent love story that spanned years of separation and struggles. A must read.
It was ok. A family in London near the end of WW11 trying to survive until wars end. Finding love and losing family members. A bit drawn out inparts but enjoyable
