This second act scene from the Broadway hit for two women has tremendous power and emotion, The daughter of the deposed Czar, thought to be an imposter, attempts to convince her grandmother of her true identity.
Yes, this is the finest scene in the play. The play "Anastasia" is no longer done now that we know she was a fraud and not the youngest child of the last Tzar of Russia. I played the title role in college. It was a wonderful experience. I loved the cast and crew. We were family. There is no getting around it. This is a powerful scene. In this scene only, the countess is by far the better role.
I have the complete actor's edition of the play "Anastasia" by Guy Bolt
