Black Friday : The Accidential Third War

Rate this book
NOTE from the Department of National Records Preservation (By a FOIA [Freedom of Information Act] Request) that was filed on September 22, 2040, this copy of the document known as “Black Friday, the Accidental Third War, Book 1” is released only for historical purposes. It is not to be released to any foreign entity.

The journal is a series of notebooks discovered in August 2037 when the Army’s First Response team arrived in the author’s neighborhood to restore power and take a census of the survivors. The author wrote most of the journal in first person, and the Department of National Records Preservation has decided to leave it as is. Some misspellings may be due to how English was spoken and written before the war. An interesting the author, whom the locals called the Elder, with much respect, had a name for the war; he called it “The Accidental Third World War.” The Director of the department, Ryan Longshot, said that was a very appropriate name for the war, and we would now use that when discussing the Third World War.

Fortunately, the Army officer in charge of the company that checked on the survivors in South Knoxville recognized the importance of the notebooks. In reading the journals, she learned the horrible truth that the Third World War had been started by an over-eager AI.

These journals give us an insight into how the war started and how at least one community not only survived but grew to become one of the most important communities in the Southeast district.

Future journals will be released as they are transcribed and reviewed by the Department of National Records Preservation. Expect to see a journal released every quarter. As always, the Department strives to locate and verify the accuracy of located documents. The Department has classified these journals as NOFORN distribution. They can be reviewed in the presence of a member of the Department.

Q-Anon meets Alas Babylon

It takes a lot to make a reader feel like they were overcharged for a free book. But this author delivers!

MAGA Wetdream

If you think “Red Dawn” was realistic as a movie you’re going to love “Black Friday”. Mixes nostalgia for an America that never existed with the latest propaganda about China’s military build up and lamentations about the Biden administration ineptitude. It’s as if Donald Trump were coherent in his ranting about the challenges facing America. Wholly unrealistic in its portrayal of communities reacting to crisis and its slavish adoration of gun culture

Realism in print!

Being a combat veteran and a multi decade prepper, I found Ira's approach to be one of the most accurate I have read or studied in my lifetime. A great read full of fact and a plethora of preparation ideas.

Excellent read!

Perfectly paced, Mr. Tabankin weaves nice back stories to each character. While horrifying, I appreciated the technical proficiency of what a nuclear war could do to humanity.

Not good!

Did not like the author’s premise or scientific knowledge. More research and less politics would have made the book better.

Too much politics !!

You use your politics to set up a nuclear war? You do realize that if China has any of our 'secrets' trump more than likely sold them to China.

An Epic book as to be expected

Mr Tabanakin never fail to provide an awesome story to something that is really quite a disturbing all to possible scenario.
Having read a great deal of his work I look forward to how the characters in this book react to there ever changing fate.
As a side note this book contains a lot of very useful advice and is not just a work of fiction, read carefully but also enjoy.
