Nefarious deeds in the monastic community on the island of Inchcolm, which I can see from my bedroom window. It is great narrative, very cinematic and deserved a much wider audience. This is the third or fourth time I have read it.

Read this twenty-five years ago but judging from the reflection I wrote about it I really liked it.

Get's a bit tedious towards the end.
Lots of names to remember but there is a Dramatis personae list at the back.
