Rate this book
Luna Oliver's dream of becoming a surgeon appears within reach when she secures her top residency choice in New York City. The bonus—her older brother Forest and his childhood best friend, Keegan, are physicians there.

As Luna navigates the intricate world of medicine, a parallel journey unfolds within her heart. After not seeing Keegan for many years, a question continues to arise now that they’re in the same city. Has Keegan always been this gorgeous, or is it a new thing?

The gravitational pull between Luna and Keegan transcends the skyscrapers that surround them. But the overbearing and overprotective older brother Forest has always made it known—Keegan is like family and wholly off limits.

In the city that never sleeps, Luna’s heart is awakened to new possibilities, and she must find the courage to chart her own course. Luna has to decide if moving forward with her feelings is worth blowing up her entire world.

I won this ebook in a Goodreads giveaway and was excited to read. I love that the medical aspects of the book were accurate! I work in healthcare, and it drives me crazy when things are wrong or don’t make sense. This was a really cute and fun story with just the right amount of spice. The characters were also super likable!

Cute read. Greys Anatomy with less spice. There were moments when the dialogue got cringe, usually with side characters not mains. I appreciated her fear of walking home alone, good plot tool. Emails felt irrelevant. The thing with his mom would have been a good tool to add some depth to Keegan, but i didn't feel that. It was a very simple, light, easy read.

My sincere thanks to Leah Omar for giving me the opportunity to read her latest book, When Hearts Attach. I give my unbiased opinion of the book in the following review.

When Hearts Attach is the story of Luna and Keegan. Keegan is Luna's older brother Forest's best friend from childhood. He was always hanging out at their house and became like a second son to Luna's parents. Both Forest and Keegan went to medical school and Keegan is now a cardiothoracic surgeon at a prestigious hospital in New York City. For as long as she can remember, Luna has also wanted to become a surgeon and received encouragement from Keegan over the years through messages and emails. When Luna achieves her goal of obtaining a surgical residency at the same hospital where Forest and Keegan work, she is surprised how much Keegan has changed in the many years since she has seen him in person. He is still her supportive friend, but he is also more. Luna is drawn to him and he to her, but is it a good idea to pursue these feelings and risk upsetting Forest by having a relationship with his friend? Will this relationship interfere with Luna's goals? Will it look like she is using Keegan to gain inroads at the hospital?

This book is more than just a brother's best friend romance. It is a story about overcoming obstacles both professionally and personally. It is about friendship and supporting those you love. I loved that this is a book about surgeons where we actually get to read about them being surgeons. The descriptions of medical procedures and interactions with patients and other doctors were realistic and interesting. This is also one of the few books that I have enjoyed the description of life in New York City. I normally gravitate more toward small town romances. I truly loved this book and can see it having a place in my favorites of 2024 list. I can't wait to recommend it to others.

A friend told me about this author, and I decided to order her latest book, because I love nothing more than a book recommendation. I work in the medical field, so I was especially excited to dive in. I started the book on a Saturday morning, and finished it the same night. I couldn't put it down. The characters are developed beautifully, and I was cheering for both of them, although sometimes I found myself frustrated with the female heroine. I wanted her to get out of her head, and just go for it!

This book is both sweet, sexy, and a slow burn. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book has a lot of potential it seemed to have a lot of influences from Greys Anatomy but not so much where it was a fan fiction just a few similarities the scenes felt very rushed in a single paragraph the story would go from for example the main character in one place then to another with hours in between I can see this happening sometimes in a book but it seemed that the characters never stayed in one place for too long of a scene

One of my favorite things about Leah’s books is how quickly you are drawn into the characters. Her characters are people you would want as friends in your life and you find yourself riding the roller coaster of emotions along with them and sad when that friendship (book) ends….until Leah gives us a sequel (🤞🏼).

This was a great read. The main protagonist is pretty funny. She tackles, life and death situations while completing her medical internship. It’s got a little sadness, humor, love and family. The complications that come from falling in love. An absolute great read. If I hadn’t been so busy I would’ve finished sooner.

Something about this story rubs me the wrong way, and all the characters talk like NPCs. It wasn't terrible though, even if I was a bit creeped out by the romance.
