When Rylan is contacted by an old acquaintance, she finds herself trying to solve a very current murder.
This puts her at odds with Ford and his partner Tyler, who were the original arresting officers, but it also thrusts her back into the path of an old ghost she saw a decade before.
This book takes us on a little trip into the past, as we switch back and forth in time, to the very first murder victim Rylan deals with, and the various connections that stem from it.
Rylan is barely keeping her head above water, as she struggles with her hoarding tendencies, as well as her desperate need to help the ghosts that she sees.
Fortunately, she has a wonderful friend in Mickey, and an intriguing potential love interest in Ford, both of whom are on her side (and always have been).
There is also a little hint of trouble in her house, because Rylan’s plate is always full.
An enjoyable addition to this series (which may be a standalone mystery but is still part of an ongoing storyline, so yes you need to read the other books first), we actually get to see some resolutions to certain ghost hauntings we have encountered with Rylan before!
It’s a fast paced tale, with a delightfully flawed heroine, and I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of her story (which is now completed).
Recommended for paranormal mystery lovers.
