I went undercover to break up an organized crime ring—not to fall in love with a mob boss.
Investigating one of the biggest crime families is risky work. I knew that going in and am prepared for anything. If I get the story, it will all be worth it.
Only the story consumes my entire being, and I end up at a speed-dating event in the hope of meeting a distraction, and is the alpha I meet ever the distraction. He’s tall, smexy, and has eyes I can’t stop looking into. If only he let me know up front who he was.
Now I’m longing for a mob boss, trying to complete my investigation, being rescued from a different mafia family who sees me as the risk, and… oh yeah, getting stuck in a mountainside cabin with the hottie from round 7. At least my life isn’t boring.
Matched into the Mob is the second book in The Wolves of La Luna Noir, a sweet with knotty heat MM mpreg shifter mafia romance. Hot and steamy shifter, fated mates, MM, mafia romance, exploring love, violence, intrigue, betrayal, survival, redemption, loyalty, family and more, blending the worlds of organized crime and supernatural shifters.
Matched into the Mob is the second installment in The Wolves of La Luna Noir series, and it offers a captivating blend of danger, romance, and fated mates. Colbie Dunbar expertly crafts a sweet yet thrilling MM mpreg shifter mafia romance, with plenty of knotty heat and suspense to keep readers hooked.
The story follows an undercover journalist investigating a notorious crime family. His goal? To break the case wide open. But his plans go sideways when he finds himself at a speed-dating event, where he meets a tall, irresistibly sexy alpha with an air of mystery. Unbeknownst to him, this charming stranger is no ordinary date—he’s a mob boss, the very kind of man he’s supposed to expose. The tension between their hidden identities adds an irresistible layer of intrigue to their developing romance.

Matched to the Mob is a standalone MM omegaverse romance by Colbie Dunbar and is book two of The Wolves of La Luna Noir. This series has me intrigued. I enjoy MM omegaverse books, with alphas and omegas who know how to give each other a run for their money, but I was very much intrigued about fitting shape shifters and mafia into the mix. It's interesting, dark and gritty. While there is romance, this is not your usual fluffy MM/m-preg series.
The series revolves around a bunch of shifter mobsters, part of the La Luna Noir, who are dealing with dangers from less principled mafia (I know, bit of an oxymoron). This book has omega human, a journalist who is also under cover with one of the city's most dangerous crime families. Matt has an older brother, who he cares for deeply and does not want to get him in trouble in his dangerous escapades, so his life is very much compartmentalised. That is until he meets Ranger of the La Luna Noir. Matt isn't stupid and has a good measure of wariness and fear when it comes to Ranger and his family, who are the enemies of the crime family he is undercover with. However, Ranger is a wolf and he know with only a sniff that the omega report is his fated mate.
This is a fast paced, action packed shape shifter romance. I love the sense of danger and need that the mafia part of the story adds to the setting. Ranger and Matt are also a great couple. They are very much two sides of the same coin, I enjoyed their story arc - despite being fated mates there is a lot of trepidation as Matt is drawn into Ranger's world.

I enjoyed Matt and Ranger’s story, immediately getting into both characters as they navigated the whole fated mate situation while trying to avoid becoming unalive. When Ranger rescues Matt from Dane and the Obsidian Circle mafia group, he takes him to the La Luna Noir cabin to protect him. I found Matt’s reaction to Ranger trying to explain shifters to him to be quite adorable, as he tried to process what he saw. This whole other world he never knew existed was right there, and he was caught up in the middle of it. Ranger was so protective, Matt was just trying to understand everything and give Ranger’s family everything they needed to get him out of this situation. The whole mate thing was another huge idea Matt had to process, and figure out if it was something he wanted, while still trying to not get found by Dane. Once he was safe, there was so much to work through before the mate question was settled, then there was an unexpected situation and a final twist at the end before finally getting their HEA, or at least HFN. Great characters returning from book 1, lots of action, some expected, some not, Mother Nature on a rampage, a satisfying end for the villian, and steamy times as Matt and Ranger gave in to the explosive chemistry with the mating bond. Story is told from dual POV. Looking forward to Hunter’s story next, and the return of the whole family and the La Luna Noir pack. I wonder if Hunter will find a human mate also, or another shifter? Must wait for book 3 to find out.

Matt is undercover working as a chauffeur for Dane of the Obsidian Circle to take down that operation but La Luna Noir is afraid that he will go after them too. Ranger was at the recycling plant and faintly scented his mate there and a couple of other places but then his dad told him that he had to go to a speed dating thing between two packs. Josh Matt’s brother took him to the speed dating thing but Matt felt things for Ranger but thought that Ranger’s pack was the same as Dane’s, so he got them out of there. Ranger sent one of the guards to watch Matt and tell him where Matt lived after the speed dating thing was done he went to Matt’s place. The next time Matt went to work after getting something to eat Dane’s second took a hold of Matt took him out to the car and they headed out of town so Dane could kill him, but got in an accident. Ranger got Matt out and tried to disguise their scents, the others were unconscious. Ranger bit Matt in the hand to keep him safe and took him to the cabin in the rain when they got there. During the rain Ranger’s family showed up to help, Dane showed up after it quit raining so bad. Dane threatened to kill his brother Josh if Matt wouldn’t go with him. But then Dane slipped and the whirlpool took him and Matt sent what he had to a trusted person in the police force. Matt stayed away from Ranger because he didn’t want to upset Josh but one day Josh came back and had a gun to kill Matt because his boss hadn’t done it, because Josh was working for Dane.

Matt Leroy is consumed by his work, the latest an undercover job to break up an organized crime ring. A story like that would be incredible! He actually has two jobs, one at the newspaper (as Matt) and the other much more secretive and dangerous (as Michael) working for The Obsidian Circle hoping to expose corruption. Now at home, he’s exhausted and his phone is filled with junk messages, so he kind of ignores Josh’s interspersed messages until his phone rings. Josh wants to drag him out to a speed-dating event the next day. But he didn’t even make it to his bed before he fell asleep on the couch.
Josh won’t let him say no the next day and drags him to the event. But things go wrong. Yes, a male he saw was amazing. Ranger Durand had been hoping to find a mate. But Matt was afraid of being identified by others who knew him in his role as Michael. He tries to hustle Josh out of there, but meets “Rudy’s son” whose wolf has definitely scented his mate! Unfortunately, falling for a mob boss, a rival mafia group from the one he is investigating, puts Matt between the enemies and is definitely not the relaxing break he had hoped for. Has he just signed his death warrant? Is he ready to retire from that “second job”? Or does Fate have something else planned for him as Ranger tries his best to protect his mate?
Matched is another 'mob lite' story. Mark is intelligent and brave, going undercover to take down mob boss, Dane. His luck runs out and on the way to his murder, the car has an accident. Ranger had scented that Matt was his mate, stalks him and is in time to rescue Matt from the accident scene. Then he kidnaps him. Ranger is the Beta for La Luna Noir, Flint's younger brother. He whisks his mate to the family cabin to protect him from Dane. Ranger is sensitive to Matt's snark, either hurt or angry. Pretty sure that Matt was suffering from a concussion, he became quite clingy. They have a sizzling chemistry and a bit of a voyeuristic kink. The Durand family is as loud and interfering as ever. Dane is a cartoonish villain. The worldbuilding is very good. The book was a pleasant way to pass a few hours. Quick, lite reading. One more Durand to go. Although I wouldn't mind an Uncle Arnie story. He's my favorite.

“I’m part confused, part terrified, and part excited about what’s ahead.”
What a great story for the 2nd book in the series The Wolves of La Luna Noir. Colbie Dunbar definitely has a hit with this series. When I saw book 2 on BookSprout I knew I had to get it, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.
Wow!!! I did not see that twist in the tale coming. I can't say enough good things about this book, I really enjoyed it! If you're looking for something with lots of excitement this one's for you. This isn't your normal Mafia style romance, which is what I love.
Don't forget to check out the deleted scene link at the end of the story, you won't want to miss this. Boys will be boys no matter what the age.
I guess Hunter's story will be up next or possibly Treyton will get a story as well, whatever, I'm there for it.
Matt Leroy just wanted to bring down the corrupt obsidian circle by going under cover but ended up with much more on his plate.
Ranger Durand just wanted to find his mate but didn’t expect to be drawn into a mess of corruption.
First and foremost the interactions between Ranger and his little niece Lottie are just too damn adorable.
Matt is a very relatable character in the way he reacts to the not so kind world he has been dragged into.
I didn’t think anything could be as cute as when Tony and Flint got together but I was wrong. Matt and Ranger are so adorable and of course Uncle Arnie is right there to take care of him.
Oh and I never saw the twist at the end. Omg that was a shocker and made me want to home Matt even tighter:
I hope we will be getting Hunters story as well because the Durand brothers all deserve an HEA.

Once I got into the story, I really enjoyed it. It did take a bit to get into the characters and relationship between the two. The primary MMC transitions between being a serious investigative reporter to almost a bubble headed trope of an omega. At first it felt choppy. It smoothed out around a 1/3 way into the book. This isn’t normal for anything written by this author. But once it did, the interactions between characters was a lot of fun. I would recommend reading the first book in the series before this one. I didn’t but will be now. It can be read as a standalone but events are mentioned that happened in the previous book. This book has alpha/omega, mpreg, betrayal, slight kidnapping, mafia, villains getting their comeuppance, and a HEA.

'The son, however, had lost the power of speech, and I feared he also knew me from my other life. But I would have remembered this hot, hunky, lickable… yeah, oh so lickable guy if we’d crossed paths.'
I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, fast-paced romance. Good world building. I loved both Matt and Ranger. Their first meeting was adorable and hilarious.
“Not again. Not like this.” Rudy slapped his forehead.
I loved Ranger's family. You can feel how close they are. Matt's undercover investigating a mafia boss, when he snags the attention of a different mafia boss's son. Ranger wasn't letting Matt get away, but either working for Dane, or being an undercover reporter, neither was very good, but he refused to lose him. The story had danger, suspense, action, and a surprise twist I didn't expect. 4 stars.
Matt and Ranger story was thrilling with a high dose of adrenaline and danger, lots of laughter and teasing, betrayal of a loved one, and a quirky meddling family. Their first encounter was intriguing and hilarious, their courtship full of surprises and danger, as well as unpredictable. Their chemistry is of the charts, but a secret identity keeps them apart until things become dangerous. I adored the teasing and banter, the humour and the sweet moments, as well as the awkwardness resulted from cluelessness. I liked how the family accepted Matt, the help they offered when things were dire, and their decompressing moments. I really loved the story and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
So anticipated and I wasn't let down...I enjoyed this shifter/mob romance. The brothers of La Luna Noir are finding their fated mates...so far they are human. With book 2, Ranger meets his fated in Matt. Their road to forever after is definitely bumpy but we get a HEA. Ranger and Matt's banter kept this entertaining along with their growing love for one another. That twist at the end with Matt's brother threw me for a bit and I feel like that wasn't really needed but thinking back with all the interactions, I guess it helps wrap up some unanswered questions...especially about that speed dating event...Anyways...this was good and I can't wait for the next book.

Enjoyable on the edge of seat adventure! Matt, is undercover hoping to expose the mob. He is constantly second guessing himself and accidently involves his brother, Josh. He works as a chauffer working for Dane and is living two lives. He meets Ranger his mate who is a mob enemy of Dane's but who he finds totally hot. Ranger and Matt are walking thin lines hiding who they are from each other. There are a few missed communication opportunities, a few betrayals and danger lurking beyond misspoken words. Good story. Matt is incredibly brave and Ranger, is a hoot. Fun supportive family and a great adventure. Great second book in the series. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Matched into the Mob is the second book in The Wolves of La Luna Noir series. This book can be read as a standalone but I feel it is better after reading Mated into the Mob first. This is Ranger an alpha wolf shifter and Matt a human omegas story. I loved these two so much. Matt is a reporter undercover to bring down a rival mafia group and runs into Ranger at a speed dating event. I loved seeing the rest of Rangers family again because they are all great characters. This story takes you on a rollercoaster ride but it is so good. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series as 5 star reads.
Matt’s reporting sideline as a driver for a shifter mafia boss becomes even more dangerous the more information he gets while on the job. When his brother takes him to a speed dating event that is for shifters only, he meets Ranger. Being a wolf shifter, Ranger realizes that the cute human is his fated mate. This mafia MM romance is full of all the feels! Suspense, heat, tenderness, betrayal and a beautiful baby. Ranger’s family is a big plus in everything going on in the story. Afte rd all, family will always stick together.

This was an intriguing story of a dangerous connection.
Matt is undercover to take down a mob organization. Attending a speed dating event isn't exactly part of the plan, but he needs a distraction. In walks Ranger... the definition of a distraction. Turns out, he's also Matt's fated mate... Matt is now in danger from the mob he was trying to take down. Can Ranger save and protect him?
Danger, adventure, betrayal, possessive mate, heat... and heart.

This is a well written mob/shifter romance with strong likable characters in Matt, a human omega and Ranger, an alpha wolf shifter. The author brings a sweet and entertaining fated mates story and takes you into their lives with action, danger, humor and a fun banter. He moves the story fluidly with his perfectly painted scenes and delivers a terrific read.

Matt is an omega human undercover reporter investigating the mob. His fated mate is a wolf shifter from another mob named Ranger. From day one, it's all about Matt who leads him on a merry chase to find their happiness. Though full of conflict with the mobs, it's always gentle, flirty or humorous between the mates and Ranger's wonderful family. It's an enjoyable pairing. I received a copy of this book through Booksprout and this is my voluntary opinion.
I am enjoying the world building in this series. There is a genuine feeling of feeling unsafe and some characters are truly dangerous. Matt is a human journalist, and he carries himself well undercover given that is all he is in this world. Well except that he is also Ranger our Wolf's mate! Good mix of suspense, bantering and spice. Also, I found every interaction with Lottie Ranger's Neice to be adorable and sweet.
Absolutely loving this new series from Colbie. Not only did we get the usual mm mpreg, fated mates etc etc... but we get a superbly written fast paced storyline that has plenty of action, suspense and danger! Loved all the characters especially the MC's who were a great together. I was completely enthralled throughout and what an unexpected twist! Looking forward to the next book.

I loved this book. It's the story of Ranger and Matt. However it includes all the family members from book 1. Matt is a reporter who went undercover to take down a mafia boss. His brother takes him speed dating at Rangers packs event. Ranger scents him and realizes Matt is his fated mate. This book tells the story of how they overcome their obstacles and problems. I can't wait for book 3.

Fast paced, action packed, fated mates with a cute HEA. Matt and Ranger had a bit of a rocky start but they definitely made up for it when they embraced fate! I was definitely surprised by the twist towards the end! Looking forward to more.

The danger from the rival mob boss is solved by nature but the hidden danger takes longer before it was revealed and fixed. I liked the little comical moments that were included in the story.
Matched into the mob is the second book in the Wolves of La Luna Noir Series. This is a wonderful story about a human reporter and a mafia shifter. It's full of excitement, intrigue, and romance. I enjoyed myself from beginning to end. Great story.

Matty takes things to another level when he goes undercover to do his own investigation into the mob. It inevitably leads him to his fated mate Ranger and this brings into his life danger and love.
An omegaverse read that has elements of betrayal, kidnapping, fated mates, mpreg and a HEA. I loved catching up with the family in this story as well. Best read in order of series.
I love Colbie Dunbar books, they are one of my favorite authors. I found this book sweet and funny with how the main couple interacted with each other. I love the protectiveness Colvin has in there books, it’s always the perfect level of overprotective without it going over the line.

I read and enjoyed the previous book. I did not find Matt nearly as likable or relatable as tony. I found Matt to be airheaded. How he thought to blame Ranger for his own doings because he decided to go undercover and for his brothers betrayal is beyond me.

I have read this book via Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest opinion. The novel was a little confusing at the start, then just meanders along. Even the angst was farcical. In my opinion, the author is great when writing with other authors, but, unfortunately I find her own novels rather flat and uninteresting.
