So, there were actually only about two projects that I liked in that book (the one featured on the cover - the crab napkin-rings - and the sea-turtle quilt), but it is a wonderful source of inspiration if you like all things beachy and sea. The templates included are really pretty and could be used for anything else if the presented projects are not exactly to your tastes. I've always love the seaside theme and will definitely be using this book as a source of inspiration in the future. And I am totally going to make those cute little crab-rings ;)
The seaside theme has a lot of nautical touches - navy blue and red and white - and pastel beachy colors. So, a specific interpretation of "seaside." As someone who's lived near a number of very different coasts (RI, VA, SC, FL, HI), that's an actual thing to note. There are some projects I really liked, and one or two I might even make if I was more of a seamstress, but for me, this was really more of an inspiration book. I think my two favorites were the stacked pebbles (though that does remind me more of hiking cairns than seaside), and the turtle quilt.
If I ever lived near the ocean, I would be very predictable and decorate in pale colors with sea themed items. I took this book out to get some ideas and patterns for cards and multi-media projects.
