Yep, Akari is a Yandere. And she's overpowered. I do hate overpowered characters, but considering she's not the protagonist, it's not that bad. And she's not doing it for a guy, so that's a plus.
So, I was hoping for a bit of a plottwist about Menou saving Akiri, and damn, there really was. Instead of doing it like always – suddenly realizing that killing is wrong and they do everything to help the otherworlder survive –, the twist is the villain and Menou has no choice but to fight them, because her life is on the line as well. Well, I love the author.
Although I was a bit confused in the beginning, especially when the villain was explaining their reasons, but it got clearer towards the end of the volume.
I didn't really like Momo much before (characters being obsessed over their senpais are just annoying), but after her backstory, I've come to like her. I wouldn't ship her with Menou romantically, but I do like her more with Menou together (platonically), than Akari. The fact that Menou & Akari now call each other "best friends", after having known each other for like 2 days, yet Momo & Menou pretty much grew up together, is rather an "oof" and *eye-roll*-moment...
But, well, overall it is enjoyable (tho less than volume 2), and I really ship Momo & Ashuna.
