Cassidy spent his entire life keeping his nose clean, except when it came to his first love, Storm. When the death of his mother sent Storm chasing after his namesake, a bruised and broken-hearted Cassidy, left behind, picked up the pieces of his life to find a semblance of happiness.
Until one day when the skies darken and the wind starts to howl. As sirens blare across the city, Cassidy finds himself unprepared for the Storm that arrives. Two of nature’s greatest forces are about to clash, and Cassidy is sure of only one thing: it's time to take shelter.
Storm Warning is a small town, second chance romance that proves that when it rains, it pours.
“Love is too beautiful to be hidden in the closet.”
Once upon a time, there was a little kid who consistently had their face glued to the pages of a book. With a little faith, trust, and a whole hell of a lot of determination, that little kid went from the person reading books, to the person writing them. And thus, Rae Simmons was born. With the publication of their debut Hunt You Down in the spring of 2022, this Atlanta native set off on a mission to highlight the hard-hitting issues facing the queer community. When they’re not writing, Rae can be found curled up on the couch with one of their three dogs with their knitting in hand, watching Grey’s Anatomy for the millionth time—much to their partner’s dismay.
The first 2/3 of this book are fairly fun, with lots of tornado action. Once the storms are done, however, it starts to grind it gears a bit and it becomes repetitive.
Storm was a storm chaser, Cassidy a paramedic. From friends to high school boyfriends until Storm left. Now Storm is back chasing a tornedo is his home town. What could go wrong. Storm came across as confident, kept his secrets close to his chest until he gazed up on Chase when he saw what he had lost. Chase whilst never getting over Storm had tried to move on but without success. The majority of the book centres round the main characters and their two friends Jenn and Parker whilst they survive the tornedo. As you are reading this story watching them battle with mother nature, you also learn about important times in Storm's and Cassidy's teenage lives. Their first meeting in the school classroom and the reason why Storm met. With so few characters the storyline never dragged and I loved have the input from Jenn and Parker on what they thought of the whole thing. The scenes are descriptive making me feel as I was with them in the eye of the storm, and there are times I did wonder if they would get out in one piece. But not only is it a story of a storm, it is a story of a second chance and forgiveness, With a few steamy scenes this was a book I enjoyed and read in one sitting.
"Storm Warning" is my first read from this author and I loved it so much! This story centers around Storm and Cassidy. These two grew up as best friends, and later as teenagers, they fell in love. We start out learning that Storm is a storm chaser and he is chasing a storm that takes him directly back to his hometown, and to Cassidy, the boy he has always loved. We are witness to devastating tornados, and the path to rebuilding. There is some tension around Storm having left his hometown and Cassidy six years prior, but I won't spoil that.
This was a beautiful story encompassing forgiveness and second chances. I loved these two, and I absolutely will continue to read more from this author!
This book was action packed and super sweet. You could feel the loving tension between them coming off the page. You could tell they never stopped loving each other
The way this second chance romance was written made me enjoy it much more than typical. The flashbacks were written into the story in a way that made sense for progression of the story.
Well written and a quick read. I really enjoyed it.
second chance romance with natural disasters yes please
I love a good natural disaster romance. This one is particularly good as it is a second chance, first last always kind of love. Heart breaking circumstances that lead to years between meetings and how to deal with that during a natural disaster and the aftermath. I Loved every moment and the happy ending ♥️
Not bad it takes place in the next county over either! I've spent most of my adult life standing in the storms and living every second but this is the first twister book I've read. I loved it!
Not a fan, leaving and abandoning the one you supposedly love is bull crap but leaving AGAIN is the just the end. How could you ever trust them? You'd always be thinking if times get hard is he going to run off again. Cassidy deserved better.

So so good! Perfect mix of excitement, angst, & sweetness. Storm & Cassidy have a beautiful lifelong love story that I adored. Loved the dual timeline as well showing important moments from their history!
A book of second chance love and survival. Storm has been chasing tornadoes for years, but can he actually survive being hit with one? Story has such intensity, you feel it. You are there with them trying to survive not only during the storm, but the aftermath looking for refuge and aid.
I found this to be a somewhat strange second chance romance. I mean, Cassidy and Storm didn’t really spend much time together this time around, so it was mostly the story told through flashbacks of the first time around, and both these kids were abused to a certain extent. Yes, neglect is child abuse, and rich people can abuse their children, too. The real time story, that of a tornado hitting the town, is extremely terrifying for anyone who has been through any sort of natural disaster, or who lives in an area where tornados happen, and, contrary to one of the mentions in this book, I’m pretty sure that Virginia is subject to tornados. Although this is a very severe tornado. Touchdown doesn’t usually go for miles. But all Cassidy and Storm do during this second chance is clear the air, so it’s strange and intense. So this is filled with childhood angst, adulthood angst, current natural disaster, and best friends trying to do the right thing and being sounding boards.
Did not know I needed a natural disaster romance until I read this but oh my goodness! I’m obsessed, this is so amazingly written and I LOVE that the mcs are called Storm and Chase ❤️ So fitting!
