Please note this is a revised edition of All the Bones.
Detective Inspector Tracy Collier is conducting a briefing in the incident room. She locks eyes with DS Damon Hanks and stalls, her confession from the week before lingering in the air between them.
How can he still love me after what I did? I’m no better than the criminals I put behind bars.
Pushing her dark thoughts to one side, Tracy focuses on the case at hand.
An arm has been discovered, dumped by the stream at the children’s park this morning. The rest of the body is missing.
It appears the arm was cut off by an axe, but the ragged ends and bite marks suggest a dog finished the job.
Days later, a body is found sunk in the murky depths of the river. There’s nothing to identify the victim, but the corpse is missing an arm . . .
Then another call comes in. Another mutilated body found in a local garage. Another arm missing.
Tracy’s got her work cut out for her with this case.
Author of these series: • DI Tracy Collier • DI Carol Wren • DI Bethany Smith • DI Helena Stratton • The Cardigan Estate • DI Morgan Yeoman • Detective Anna James
This series just gets better and better with every book released.
The author weaves a brilliantly clever tale throughout this series. Each book features a different criminal, different victims, but alongside the horror, we witness the uplifting recovery of DI Tracy Collier, a woman with a horrific past, but who is slowly finding her way through the darkness, one snarky comment at a time.
I adored Tracy Collier from the very first book. She's prickly, direct, has laser-targeted sarcasm, and isn't afraid to break the rules. But all of these character traits have a reason, and throughout each tale, more and more of Tracy's reasoning is revealed to us, via a backdrop of horrendous murders.
Truly, I cannot wait for the next book. An auto-buy for me.
Another great read, except…I don’t like that they played up the suspects caring for his Mum who has MS as a possible cause for his warped behavior?!? As someone who has MS & was dxd in 1998, I don’t believe that any of my carers have gone on to rape &/or murder people!!! But, the book is awesome, the writing flows, little to no disjointed scenes. Dialogue is fantastic & DI Tracy Collier & DS Damon Hanks solved another great murder mystery with the help of their top notch team!! I’ve already read & reviewed Book 6, so I’m really hoping a Book 7 is in the works!!! Again great book, just not sure exactly how I feel about MS playing a part in the forming of this crazed person?!? But keep up the great writing & please give us a Book 7!!! I need it!!!
I have to start by saying I absolutely love the Tracy Collier series, book five has edged up a level in my opinion. It’s amazeballs as my niece would say.
If you’re looking for a twisted serial killer thriller then look no further.
Yes, Tracy Collier is still fighting the demons from her past but in no way does that overshadow the case she and her experienced team are dealing with.
To say the predator they’re tracking is a sick individual is a gross understatement. I truly don’t want to say more.
Suffice to say that I read this incredible book in only two settings and have to rate it as one of the best books I’ve read to date.
This book could have been ripped out of the headlines! Its that good! Each book is as good or even better than the last one in this series. I honestly don't think that this book, or any in the series should be read as a stand alone, there is too much history that is necessary to understand the characters. And trust me,you have to read them in order to believe, and understand this. And though the main character has done some, lets say illegal things, I can understand how she came to do so. I am on to the apparent last of the series, which I know will be fantastic, and I will mourn the ending. They are that good!
The Tracey Collier series just keeps on getting better! Tracey Collier is still struggling with her past but is getting help to hopefully get her through it all. Tracey and the team have a disturbing individual to find and fast! Women are being raped, murdered and mutilated, if the team can find out why, then they might be able to put a stop to this. I have to admit that this story did shock me, that doesn’t happen often! I was on the edge of my seat throughout this story. It was a difficult read but having said that, the story is amazing. In my opinion this is Emmy Ellis’ best book to date.
I loved this book even if it was the most gruesome I have ever read. The story starts very gently with the main protagonist walking one of his dogs after his latest kill goes sadly wrong. Thereafter an episode of murders appear one after the other. DI Tracy Collier and her team are hard put to find the killer. All the evidence starts to mount up and slowly it gels together. This is where the author's mind goes into overdrive and the detailed murders and technicalities that follow altho extremely gory, make for a spellbinding read.
D.I.Tracey Collier and her team are back again. This time, I felt shocked, and a bit sick, seriously! This might be a story but it sounded so real. The team were as brave as always, but It was sad. I had sympathy, found it disturbing, and unbelievable. You have to read to see what I mean.
Loved the previous books, but this is your best book yet, Emmy Ellis.
I have loved this series of books ,I love how Tracy talks to herself inside & how much she cares for the victims of the crimes ,I also enjoy her relationship with Damon & how he knows everything about her & love's her anyway, I have another book to read so I'm away to read the 6th book in the series ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This book may not be for everyone as it covers issues such as Necrophilia and cannibalism.
In this book we see Tracy deal with another aspect from her past whilst trying to find the killer. The plot is good and as with all Emmy Ellis’s book we can see into the mind of the killer.
This book could easily have been an episode of criminal minds
This series just gets better and better love Tracy and team. I have held of as much as I could to read this one as the new is due out this month, but I couldn't wait any longer. In count down for book6 now.
Yet another fantastic book in this series. Quite where the author gets her inspiration from is beyond me, she certainly has a very warped mind and I love it! Very original ideas and stories, gruesome and gory at times but bloody brilliant reads!
Om my, Tracy has a difficult case to solve here. I couldn't even imagine being a copper dealing with the cases she deals with. I can barely stomach it reading it. The brilliance is how she gets me to continue to read it. Well done.
If you have a weak stomach I'd advise you to read a few hours after eating so it's completely settled. Very well written and very much a page turner. Also this is book 5 so make sure you're reading in order of when they're written or you'll ruin the story line.
Quite enjoyable, but very much of the same theme, getting a bit tired of revenge as
A motive to do evil, pattern that is emerging makes reading. less NJ fascinating, also the familiar pace lacks imagination. Starting to become a little too predictable.
Couldn't put this book down. I like this series because Tracy admits she has got a few problem. Yes she is really trying to work through them now. But the things done to her as a child was terrible but I'm sure she will get there with Damon's help of course
