This is the story of a young woman, Jocelyn, who lives with her Aunt & Uncle and helps to take care of her cousins. She later dresses up as a boy(can't have her true identity revealed because of the scandal that would cause) to help intercept and rescue her cousin, Arnold from the dark and dastardly clutches of the local constable. He's been caught poaching fish from a neighbors pond and is being taken to jail. While extricating Arnold, a man comes to her aid. He asks a favor in return-he wishes for a discreet but clean inn where he can recuperate from an unfortunate incident- he's been stabbed. He asks this boy's name and Jocelyn, not thinking too quickly, tells him Josh-her nickname. Adventure ensues when someone in her acquaintance wants to assassinate the two power heads that are meeting. Jocelyn has to help stop this terrorist from carrying out his attack. There are some surprises, aren't there always? I hope you like this book as much as I did. It's not a D'arcy and Elizabeth, but it's pretty good.

A Regency spy novel that doesn't take itself too seriously, and neither should you. Very enjoyable. Clean.
