Life has thrown a lot of lemons and it’s time to make lemonade. Rhowyn failed in her attempt to fully ascend to the throne and in taking Titania down. She was even responsible for the near fatal injury of one of her mates. So, she makes the decision to go it alone with the help of a friend. If she’s going to become the Queen she’s meant to be, she needs to learn how to rely on herself again. As she journeys across Avalon, she gathers an army, finds new allies, and discovers more about herself than she ever thought she would. Everything is now resting on her shoulders and should she fail, all of Avalon will die. But new questions arise that threaten everything she’s worked for. Can Rhowyn find her own strength and confidence to become the Queen that Avalonia wants? Can she find a way to outsmart Titania despite her lack of knowledge on magic? Or will she fall, dooming the rest of the worlds to the same fate?
This is a Why Choose Romance where the leading lady doesn't have to choose between suitors. Please check for Trigger Warnings before reading. MMFMM
Chapter 29.... that's all you need to know... 🤤😉❤️ . . . J/K!!! But also yes.... This was an amazing conclusion to the series. I loved the lore, the battles, the spice.. all the things. The ending was magical and tied so many things together. I can't wait to see what comes of this world in future stories!!
⋆˚✿˖° Review: let me say, i have rated the other 3 5 stars, which i do rarely. i love this series, but this one didnt keep up the same momentum for me. it felt reptetitive as it kept repeating the same thoughts had by Rhowyn. It feel like the momentum slowed down, and we lost some of the depth. The pacing was a bit inconsistent as some points would be quicker while others were extremely slow. It just felt like a slower finale to me. However, I still loved the book and ending. I felt like it did the series justice, and i was continuously surprised and happy.
♡ What I Loved: - spice was stil v nice - ending did the series justice - all questions were answered and I never had any lingering thoughts or feelings as if something was unresolved - writing was still beautifully done, and it all did make sense
.ᐟ What I Didn't Like: - for me it was mostly how 3 books had a phenomenal momentum and buildup and this was just slower so it didnt feel as cohesive - the repetitiveness of a large portion of the book. the same events and thoughts kept recurring consistently
જ⁀➴ Spice Level: 4/5 spice did not lack, kept consistent and was still v well crafted
— ୨୧₊˚ Would I Recommend It?: absolutely!! i still loved the hell out of this book and especially the series as a whole. Avah writes so so well, such a fluid, enjoyable way of writing that it would entrance anyone
₊˚⊹♡ Conclusion: despite the momentum/plateau, avah killed this series & book. she created a world that i was engulfed in and honestly didnt want to stop reading. i plan to continue following, watching, & reading Avah. i cant wait to see what else she writes as im sure it will be amazing just as this series was ₊˚⊹♡
This is the last book in the Reluctant Royal series. I can not believe it has ended, this has been a long journey for Rhowyn where she has discovered so much about herself and is still learning as the book wraps up. This starts just after the cliffhanger of the last book and they have all started a war now they have to plan. I felt for Baer in this book, he has been the character that was so optimistic but he is going through some things and I have to say it made me tear up.
Again this series has been a part of my life for a few years and it was wrapped up beautifully for a debut series Avah Larke has done a great job. I gave this book 5 ⭐️ and 2.5 🌶️ love some of the group scenes.
If you have not read this series yet I highly recommend it the men are 🥵 and Rhowyn is a badass.
I don't understand how she never once asked about her grandmother (her dad's mom) or her grandparents on her mother's side. It also felt really weird to send Juniper to look after the girls, she's basically exiling a Fae from faery lands. I did like this book overall but there were a lot of little things like that that didn't really make sense to me. Or like when she had Titania pinned and was just punching her. Like... she has a magic blade, and the author made a point to mention she had multiple blades strapped to her, so why wasn't she stabbing Titania? I also felt her glamor breaking was extremely underwhelming and anticlimactic, especially since it was built up to be this big deal the whole time.
The book was good but it did drag a lot in the latter half, which is why it took me so long to eventually finish it. There are some unanswered questions, but I'm assuming those are being saved for Cyerra's book(s), so I'm not too upset about those, and I will likely end up reading that book, too.
This book gave me the ending I needed. From the very first book to now, I loved seeing how Rho takes on her new role with large strides. She was strong before, but seeing her gain more strength and knowledge of the world around her makes this book even better. Their Queen scratches an itch I’ve needed for a long time. With the redundancy of fantasy romances it is so refreshing to read something that actually grabs your attention quickly and easily keeps you wanting more. The multiple POVs run smoothly throughout the books and don’t leave you with unanswered questions. Well, none that aren’t answered by the last book 😌
I’ve seen how Avah has grown in her writing from the first book to the last and it’s absolutely phenomenal.
This has got to be my favorite series so far of 2024. You will not be disappointed by starting it.
This book was a ride! My only caveat was that the characters were a bit more predictable this book than the previous ones.
Rhowyn continues on her quest to save Avalonia. She faces new trials (not like the chosen trials) that help her grow in herself and her magic. She is challenged to do some side quests on her own, which she excelled at, obviously. Hands and heads are lost, feelings are hurt, love is shared, and loose ends are tied. This was a great ending to a wild ride. Can't wait for Cyerra's story!
This has been an amazing series to read. This final book wraps up very nicely and answers all of the questions I’ve had throughout the books. Rhowyn has developed a lot through these books along with her relationships. There is plenty of action and adventure. The spicy scenes were very well written too. I encourage you to give this series a try. It’s so great I will be purchasing physical copies for my bookshelf so I can display them. I will also be rereading this series often.
This book was everything I needed and so much more. This was the fourth book of the series and it wrapped everything up very nicely. It had the right amount of heartbreak, love, bonds, discovery of yourself and much more. The mmc’s we’re just as amazing if not more so now and the mfc really discovered who she was and how to become who she needed to be. The love between all of them could really be felt in this book and I can’t wait to see if we get more
This is book four in the Reluctant Royals Series and just the perfect ending to a great story. This is now one of my favorite series. I love the characters, the story arc, the world, the drama, just everything about this.
You will definitely need to read the other three books first, but I promise you, it is worth it.
Overall I liked this series, though I enjoyed the first 3 more than this one. I felt there were a few major questions that were left unanswered; why does she have lighting magic? What was her father going to say to her about why he hid her? It was more than just her identity as his daughter. And why did no one really react when her glamor broke?
This book is so good I could not put it down! I am in love with Rhowyn and her consorts! The ending was so good and I loved how everyone rallied for the epic battle! I love this series and can’t wait to read Cyerras story next!!!!
Excellent story telling and visionary writing that held my imagination from the beginning of the book. I love reverse harem so this series was my cup of tea and I couldn’t imagine a better ending. There’s a reason I think of a queen when I think of Avah larke !!
The final instalment and wasn’t it worth it. The detail, the story, it tied up all the pieces neatly. The spice was that next step. Well done Avah, you have a fan
This final book in the series wraps up all the remaining parts of the storyline, and ends in the long awaited epic battle we have all been waiting for. I have to admit this fourth book still held some unexpected twists and turns, and I enjoyed watching it all come together. Rhowyn finally embraces her full potential in this final book, and looking back it’s clear how much she grew as a person throughout the series. She definitely became the queen these fae desperately needed, and it was awesome to watch her grow into that role.
Avah came out of the gates with her debut novel/series and I was hooked immediately.
I love how much growth happens in this book. Everyone has a lot of growth and has to deal with all the different things that led them to where they are now.
Finally we get to find out what the queen has been up to that has been killing the land and that is a fantastic revelation. I love that this book and the whole series was able to surprise me over and over.
Can't forget about those group scenes because they are hot. I'd have lived more of them but it's not really a priority when you are having to fight so much.
Maybe a novella or detailed bonus scene..... Hint hint Avah I want more. Lol
Series becomes repetitive, repeating the same information again and again in slightly different ways. Overall a good story that does keep you turning the pages to find out what happens
Their Queen by Avah Larke delivers exactly what this series has been building toward, a full transformation from survival to sovereignty, from reluctant participant to true ruler. After the devastation in Their War, this final installment doesn’t just raise the stakes; it cements them.
Rhowyn’s journey comes full circle here, and it’s honestly one of the strongest parts of the entire series. Where she once resisted her role, then fought against it, now she has to become it. And that shift isn’t easy or instant. It’s earned through pain, separation, and a lot of self-reflection.
Her decision to go it alone is frustrating at times, but it also makes sense for her character. She’s always relied on herself to survive, and this moment forces her to reconnect with that core part of who she is, not as a defense mechanism, but as a source of strength. Watching her rebuild herself, rediscover her power, and step into leadership without leaning on anyone else at first adds a deeper layer to her growth.
That said, the emotional weight of her separation from her consorts is very present. Their bond doesn’t weaken, but it does change. There’s longing, tension, and a sense that everything they’ve built is being tested in a completely new way. When they do come back together, those moments hit harder because of everything they’ve endured apart.
The romance still holds strong as a “why choose,” but it feels more grounded in this book. It’s less about attraction and more about partnership, loyalty, and shared purpose. Each relationship has been through enough at this point that it feels solid, even when strained.
The addition of new allies and the expansion of the world really elevate this finale. Rhowyn isn’t just fighting for herself or her men anymore; she’s fighting for Avalon. Gathering support, building an army, and seeing the broader impact of Titania’s rule gives the story a much bigger, more epic feel.
And speaking of Titania, this is where everything finally comes to a head. The tension that’s been building across all four books pays off in a confrontation that feels deserved. She remains a strong, oppressive force throughout, making the final clash feel meaningful rather than rushed.
One of the strongest themes in this book is the idea that true leadership isn’t about doing everything alone, It’s about knowing when to stand alone and when to stand with others. Rhowyn has to learn both, and that balance is what ultimately defines her as a queen.
The emotional core of the story really shines here too. There’s grief, healing, resilience, and ultimately hope. It doesn’t ignore the cost of everything these characters have gone through, but it also gives them something to move forward toward.
Overall, this is a fitting and emotionally satisfying conclusion to the series. It ties together the romance, the rebellion, and the personal growth in a way that feels complete without being overly neat.
If you’ve followed Rhowyn from the beginning in Their Chosen, this final book delivers on her journey in a way that feels both earned and impactful.
As always be mindful of any trigger warnings, what I like you may not. Happy Reading! ✨📚
I enjoyed this series, but it took me 5x longer than normal for a series this size. For some reason, anytime I put one of the books down, I just didn't feel like picking it back up again. To be fair, I've been in a huge reading slump for all of 2025, so this may be a me problem.
The author's writing style is a bit too long-winded for my taste. There's a lot of internal dialogue for the characters and many events get rehashed over and over as we have to experience it again from someone else's perspective. The final battle scene was particularly frustrating. Every time a big event happened we would have to read about it again from one of the other character's perspectives. It made it feel like there was never any progress in the book.
This last one was also a bit less polished than the 3 books before. It needed another read through for errors. Sometimes words were left out and I'd have to go back and reread a sentence to figure out what was actually meant.
That said, I did enjoy this series and I'll be adding this author to my watch list for future releases. I particularly enjoyed the characters and I will be checking out Cyerra's story.
The main reason why I gave it a 4 is because it felt quite draggy towards the last half of the 4th book. It was predictable. Yes, I like my books to have HEA but everything was just too perfect and the final war scene was rushed. There were still quite a bit of unanswered questions but I did read that the author has plans on doing another series with Cyerra and hopefully we'll have our answers there. Not sure if I was hitting a slump but it took me a while to finish the last book.
The great thing with this series is definitely the world building, the author really used up the 4 books to give us a clear picture of the fae realm. The character building was good too, even though there are 5 guys in the harem, you can definitely tell them apart. The plot was so-so, for me, it felt like the author did try for the villain to appear intriguing but there was definitely a lot more telling that showing. Overall, I liked the series and will probably be reading the following series about Cyerra.

What an epic end to an amazing first series by Avah Larke. I loved absolutely everything about this series especially book 4 ‘Their Queen.’ The character growth was hands down one of the things I enjoyed the most about this book. It was so nice to see how far Rhowyn and her men have come since book 1 and them coming together as one to defeat Queen Titania was nothing short of amazing.
Also, the world building is freaking fantastic. I’ve never been a huge fan of fantasy books, because I feel like authors always seem to fall short in capturing my imagination, but Avah does it with such ease it makes you crave more. If you’re like me and have been on the fence of trying a fantasy novel or series, I implore you to give this one a try. It’s got everything a good book should have plus the spice is off the charts. I cannot wait to see where Avah takes us next.
What an amazing series! I thoroughly enjoy books with multiple POVs and this author executed them beautifully. The flow of the book and evolution of the relationships was perfect. One of the main things that makes this series one of my all time favorites is that the suspense and drama doesn’t just come from one situation or just from within the group. The author has built such a in depth world that you get to see Rho and her guys working together to overcome and figure out so much together. Will they defeat the twisted queen? Will they find out more about the runes? What will happen with the Ravens? I couldn’t put the book down until I had these answers! I am praying the author decides to write additional books based on some other introduced characters (not in the harem) so I can get more of Avalon!
This has been an incredible journey from the very first book and the author has done a great job of drawing us in and keeping us hooked. Our FMC Rhowyn has been through the mill in this series but her growth has been remarkable and she is a total badass and can definitely hold her own. In this, she faces challenges to save Avalon and defeat Titania and she does it so well as she finally embraces all that she can be. It’s exciting, it’s gripping and the world building has been so descriptive and beautiful and the author has weaved their magic and tied up loose ends, answered our many questions and given us an ending worthy of this series!
This series sucked me in hard from the start! I absolutely loved the conclusion of this part of Rhowyn's story.
Avah Larke has done a wonderful job with the evolution of all the MCs and her ability to tie up loose ends is 🤌
There were a couple of small reasons I didnt give it 5 stars. First, is a tiny plot hole from the first to the 4th book that I probably wouldn't have noticed had I not binged the entire series. The second is that this book had a few too many repeats of the same line within it.
Overall, fantastic plot. Delicious 🌶🌶🌶 ⚔️ and lots of action in this great conclusion to Rhowyn's story.
This was a new author to me and I will definitely be reading more of her books!! I'm hooked. The whole damn series is fucking phenomenal. I was addicted and obsessed from book 1 to book 4!! Never stop until I lapped up every single one of them!!
They are rollercoaster rides with twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat and heart racing. The characters in these books have gripped my heart instantly, I love them. The world, their trials , their adventures I loved it all.
All books are action packed, thrilling, spicy , drama filled and so much more.
I can't wait to sink my teeth into more books by this author. Highly recommend!!
Amazing end to an amazinggggggggg seriessssss! I absolutely love how everything came together in the end of everything… I stopped reading for a minute bc well life happened but picking it right back up was still amazing and I could vividly picture everything ! Sometimes when I stop in the middle of a book and try and pick it back up I’m not as interested and just don’t finish it but this series couldn’t let me do that 😭I’ve definitely enjoyed Argo and my men… I mean her men… and this journey and hope to see more of Cyerra with her own harem and adventure !
Wow! What a roller coaster of a ride! The story wraps up nicely with only a few questions left unanswered to ensure the potential return to this world and its side characters. The struggles of the characters align with their trauma, making it more relatable and providing a deeper connection to the story. Rhowyn's growth as a character is amazing as she steps into the wider world without her safety net. Her strength and determination are admirable along side her ability to be fragile and submissive when needed. The spice is delicious and the support from within the harem is amazing.
Rhowyn has been through a lot. This series has been a lot. I am so happy to have read about these amazing characters and the amazing world that Avah has spun for us. This is by far one of my favorite new series that’s come out and while this one was harder for me to read, because of the triggers, it was also so good. I hope this series gets a spin off and more characters are introduced and this wonderful yet harsh world is explored more. Plus the spice is on point and i need more.
The entire series is written with beautiful world building and character development that is outstanding. Rho and men are the goodness we should strive for. Everyone has their own demons in the life and the way they all fought together for the greater good despite those demons just make you feel good. The spice is just right not over done just for the sake of it. Can’t wait to read what Aviah writes next!!
What an absolutely absorbing and wonderful series. This author's character development is absolutely delicious. You cry, laugh, and love for each of them. I imagine I will read this series again lol!
