Cute, I guess. Great opening line. Fun theme ties the short stories together. Silliness and adventure I think young readers will like. Well-written. Nicely illustrated.

This is book about Glog a caveboy. Glog gets lost from his tribe and ends up alone. However in his loneliness he manages to make new "friends" across three adventures in chapters called "Echo", "Shadow" and "Water Boy". At the end there is of course a happy ending when he gets reunited with his tribe.

The story is clever in the way each chapter has a Glog find a different friend and how they are all related in the type of friend that they are. There is also good imagery across the three chapters with the symbols used in the contents and chapter title pages which Glog also uses in his cave painting that he builds across the story.

The thing I didn't like so much was the caveman speak which I think is hard for kids (and adults) to read and understand. But apart from that the story is clever and the imagery with the cave paintings and the chapter titles works well.
