Even though Blue got on my nerves

Yes, Blue got on my nerves something fierce. Terrance was cooler than I would have been given the secret baby circumstance. I wanted Zina and Terrance to work things out, but wishy washy Zina had to add Kirby the placeholder in the mix. In the end, all was well with T and Blue.

More Like 3.5 Stars

I liked the love story, however throughout the book, I was confused. First, it didn’t make sense that Terrence couldn’t understand why Blue couldn’t find him. He had only given her his first initial. Then Blue had no grounds to be jealous when she was the one to walk away from Terrence. Next, Terrence pushed Blue into the arms of the next dude, then was mad about it. Lastly, Blue said they were toxic but they didn’t even have any history together to even warrant that claim. So again, all I asked of these authors, is to make it make sense.

10s across the board! Imagine 7 years ago you had a one night stand after clubbing for your homegirls bday. You move to a new town and start a new job and on your first day you find out your one night stand is your company’s CEO?! not only that, the product from that one night stand was a baby?! Oh I was fed! Loved reading about Zina and Terrance’s story. So so good!

Second Chance!!!

Terrance and Zina met when Zina was getting her party on at a club. He called her Blue due to her attire (The idea of her friends and coworkers dressing in their favorite color was a cute concept.) and he introduced himself as T. They had instant attraction and ended up giving into their passion. Fast forward 7 years, they meet again when Zina is hired at Terrance's company. A secret is revealed in the most unexpected way. I didn't like Terrance's behavior when he found out about Tripp because it wasn't like Zina knew where to find him. I do like how they both handled the situation with maturity once the dust settled. Danni got on my nerves with her bit@hish behavior as well but I blame Terrance for not cutting her off sooner. Sasha's character was lovable because she is the type of bestie that we all love and wish we had. I love a good second chance story and this one was filled with forgiveness, love and passion. Naming his company after his Blue showed what an impact Zina had on his life after all those years. Great book that you should absolutely check out!!

Meh!

This is my first read from this author and I had this book on my tbr for a while. It was a quick read, I didn’t love it. But I also didn’t hate it. Something was missing, not sure what- but something was off.

I will say, I didn’t like that both the FMC and MMC were dealing with someone else for more than half the story. Maybe if there were more interactions between the two, where we could see them fall for each other. The extra characters wouldn’t have matter much.

I really like this book, although some elements were not realistic, which I’ll toss up to being fiction. Authors can create their own fictional worlds lol. This was purely a read for entertainment and got the job done for me.

My favorite part is that the boy has both his parents in his life. Most one night stands don’t have happy endings, so this melted my heart.

True ❤️

I really enjoyed these characters in this book. It was a great love story with just the right amount of drama to make it feel readable 🤭

This is a great story for a cold winter day. It’s not too short or too long.

Okay what is with these unrealistic reactions. I know there has to be a climax but make it believable. They didn't know each other's names and only knew an initial, had a one night stand that produced a child. He acted like she literally knew where he was and kept his baby from him make it make sense why would she struggle if it was simple to go to or find the dad. His comments are ridiculous seriously and the nerve to treat her like shit when she the one who suffered having to raise a kid on her own.

I’m sorry so many things didn’t make sense. Like him being so upset as if they weren’t strangers. He literally said he tried to find her but had no luck because he only had her FIRST NAME. So imagine how much info she was able to find with only having your damn INITIAL! Then the annoying chick he was dealing with made no sense because he stated that after she cheated that he knew she wasn’t for him but they ended up back in bed because they got drunk at a company party. I’m thinking he just sex with them but nooooo apparently they’re “working on things” made no sense. Now onto “Blue” I do wonder if she planned to tell the man about his son if he hadn’t run into them in the parking lot? Because it definitely seemed like they were trying to hide it. Was it the most opportune time? No. But she could have told him that they needed to have a convo. Also the whole saying her child’s principal sorry but it very inappropriate for so many reasons. I’m not against single moms dating. Hell I’m a single mom but I’m trying understand how the principal thought it was a good idea to step to her while she’s registering her child for school and he’s doing this with her child’s father present even though he know that they both had just rediscovered each other. It’s like dude read the room. And I definitely didn’t understand why Blue thought it was okay to date this man. She literally stated she was trying to get her life on track. So I would think dating would be the last thing on her mind. I would think her focus would be making sure her child is adjusting to all the changes that’s happening in his life. And the day that everything blew up and she decided to keep the dad from his son was kinda messed up to me. Mind you her friend gave terrible advice and the MMC mom was right the last thing that should have been on her mind was her going on a date. It should have been trying to fix the issues she was having with other her child’s father. And maybe having a conversation with him. Now I did agree that he should have nipped the interview in the bud because he knew what ole girl was trying to do but they both could have handled that differently. Another thing it was really blowing my how the principal asked her to meet his family FOR THANKSGIVING mind you they were literally only on their SECOND date and by the time Thanksgiving came around it had only been a MONTH! And the fact that she was actually considering really blew me. It’s like girl you haven’t been dealing with this man long and you’re considering leaving your child alone for the holiday to spend it with your new bf of two days to met his family when this would be your sons first Thanksgiving with his dad and his dads family.its like really girl. Yeah no neither MC had much common sense and it was quite annoying. Especially with the FMC kept saying there was too much baggage between her and the MMC when they literally never had a relationship. Yall had a one night stand and created a child and now you guys are getting to know each other, you are not that engrossed with the principal of especially since you keep sleeping with the MMC yo actually give the relationship a chance. Yeah sorry I didn’t like this book. Sorry if I have any typos but this book blew me.

This review is… a little strange, but honestly the book had me confused, so it fits 😭

It started off really good… like, I was settling in thinking okay, this about to be a vibe. And then out of nowhere, I just couldn’t get into it anymore. Everything became predictable, super on-the-nose, and oddly flat. The communication? Practically nonexistent. They’d “talk,” but not really talk.

He’d say he wanted one thing… she’d argue him down… and then somehow they’d magically “resolve” the issue, except it never actually felt resolved. It was like watching two people pretend they had a conclusion when they really just swept everything into a corner.

A perfect example… he’s upset because his son isn’t in school. She explains that she just moved, she’s trying to get him into school, the waitlist is long, etc. And instead of them discussing it like adults, he just calls in a favor, makes something happen, and boom…..that’s the end of it. No conversation, no “here’s what I’m doing,” nothing. Just heavy-handed initiative.

But the real mess? Whew 😮‍💨

This girl is dating a whole man. Going on dates… texting him… entertaining him. But she’s also sleeping with her baby daddy on the side. Ma’am. Either stick with your baby daddy or leave him alone, because this half-in, half-out situation was stressing me out.

And it gets messier, because the baby daddy is in this on again, off again situationship with his coworker… who has a promise ring he gave her… and he’s still kissing on the mother of his child like it’s nothing. And she’s letting him! Knowing he’s involved! Girl, what are we doing?!

It was just… a tangled pile of confusion. Everyone making questionable choices with their whole chest.

Overall, the book wasn’t terrible… it just wasn’t giving what I hoped it would give. So I landed on 2 stars.

I thought the way that Zina and Terrance met was really cute, and it felt like destiny since neither of them wanted to be there. I thought the way they reconnected was cute too.

After this though, Terrance really got on my nerves (but I came back around). Like bro Zina looked for you and couldn’t find you just like you looked for her and couldn’t find her. She didn’t deliberately keep that baby from you🙄 It ain’t like Zina had much information to work off of. You’d think since Terrance was a founder and CEO of a tech company that he’d think logically but this 🥷🏾 let his emotions guide his decisions. Terrance was all over the place and was a walking contradiction.

Initially, I was really rooting for Kirby. He seemed really nice and respectful and like he really liked Zina. But I get it. Even with all of his great qualities, Zina didn’t feel for Kirby what she felt with Terrance.

We didn’t get much of Terrance and Zina together and being cute but when we did get it, they had me smiling. Tripp’s relationship with Terrance also had me smiling. I was impressed with how well Tripp adjusted to having Terrance around.

As a bonus, all of the side characters (aside from Danni) were enjoyable. Sasha and Terrance’s mom had me cracking up.

His Blue

This was a really good story from beginning to end. I loved the easy connection and chemistry between Terrance and Zina. I did give Terrance the side eye with how he was responding to finding out about his son especially considering how he was conceived and the extremely limited information they both had about each other. He was acting like they had an established relationship and she willingly kept their child from him. I wished he would have apologized for his initial reaction, but I do think his following actions made up for that. I would have also liked to have had more on page showing Terrance and Zina once they finally decided to give them a real try, but the buildup to this decision showed how much they loved each other even if they both weren’t ready to admit those feelings. I would definitely recommend this read.

It’s crazy how one night a change the trajectory of people’s lives. T saw Blue and fell in love with her at first sight. They desired each other and had a magical night not knowing that they were creating a life. Seven years later they meet again and T finds out about Tripp. They had to navigate through stormy waters but they eventually made their way through to be a happy family. I don’t feel sorry for Kirby because he knew that T still had feelings for Blue but he was trying to get with her anyway. Danni was a disgusting human being to refer to Tripp in the manner in which she did. I’m glad that T and Blue’s family blended together very well. My obsession….I so wanted Blue to get pregnant again😩😩

Imagine your best friend takes you out to the club
to let your hair down after final exams. You’re not
the club type, but you loosen up and end up meeting
a FINE man there. There’s an INSTANT connection, and
you end up leaving with him for a night of the best
pleasure you’ve ever had…but uh oh…no protection can
lead to serious repercussions.

7 years later exists a child who never met his father,
a father with no recollection of a child, and a mother
whose new boss is her baby’s daddy! The man she’s been
trying to locate for years!

Chiiiiiiile!

Don’t expect deep writing from this story. It’s exactly
how it sounds, but it was a fun (and short) read.
I definitely got my fill of drama and some spice
too!!

Shades of Love

One night of celebrating a friends birthday at the club. All dressed in a color that included a matching wig, Zina attracted Terrance. Throwing caution to the wind, she let the liquor take over and ended up at his hotel. Vanishing without a trace the next morning left them both wanting to know more about the other. In their search of one another they came up empty. As luck would have it, Zina ends up being hired at his company seven years later. The rollercoaster ride this book takes you on definitely had me wanting to put my hands on people! Jealousy is such an ugly trait to have but as the old saying goes, hurt people hurt people.

Silver Lining

Hmmmm, initially I was conflicted, offended, and annoyed with Terrance’s reaction towards Zina seeing Tripp for the first time. …”REALLY negro⁉️”…You share culpability creating life, likewise (all men) followup (be responsible 🤷🏾‍♀️) stop dropping your seeds randomly” than there’s no mystery or gaps of lost years. Nevertheless, “Shades of Love: From Blue to Forever” was a great experiment on developing restraint, patience and forgiveness. Thereafter, a silver lining for the Sellers’ household.

True Love At First Sight

Oh how to befitting it was to read such a true love story that really happened at first sight. The characters and their back stories really laid the right foundation for leading them to fall in love, even if it took time for it to be discovered seven years later. The book was worth the time to read every Page, every Chapter, every Word.

I enjoyed this entire book thoroughly. Thanks, Bree for such a fun read!!

4.6/5

The only thing i didn’t care about is him not taking accountability as well when it came to her having his child. Just like she looked and gave up, he also looked and gave up. Throwing it in her face multiple times was the icing on the cake, sis was a single mother due to a one night stand and held it down for 7 years with family and friends support. Props to Zina. She gets Single mother of the year.

My first read!

This was my first read by this author, and I enjoyed the experience. I wanted to get at Terrance a lot, but eventually, I got over it because he was going to be how he was, and Zina was going to let it continue🙄 This was a second chance love story that was slightly complex but not enough for the HEA to seem unbelievable so I will be reading more by this author in the future.

LOVED it!!!!

this was a really good read! i loved it! fate brought Zina and Terrence back into each others lives after a one night stand that brought about an unexpected but welcomed surprise. Terrence finding out he has a son and wanting to be in his life and doing whatever he can to spend time with him tugs at my heart. although at first he has the wrong approach. but i understand he was coming from a place of hurt. overall this book was VERY enjoyable to me!

Great Storyline

This was definitely a beautifully written books!!!…I did not like the way Terrance spk to Zina after finding out they shared a son!!!…I guess he forgot they didn’t share their names, numbers or any other personal information to get in touch with each other!!!…
I’m glad they found their way back to each other though and I love how the 2 families came together!!!…

good read

Love at first sight…T/ Terrence and Blue/Zina were meant to be apart for that time frame for each to grow but once they got the co parenting down they were good at it but that Danni was on one cause she knew she was at the end of the rope I wonder what’s going on with Sasha and Jarvis

Loved It

T and Blue love story was nice. He did get on my nerves in the beginning when he found out about his son. Like really, how you have an all out anger fest over her not finding you when the only name she had was T. Then she she got on my nerves by pulling an innocent person in their chaotic feelings. 😁😁😁
I said all that to say I really enjoyed and liked his book.

Loved it!

This was such a great read! Story was easy to follow and had a lot of interesting highlights, humor, and a decent amount of drama. I think Blue was wrong for dating the school principal and it made her look a bit desperate and easy. Loved the cohesiveness of the family. Overall a great story read it.

My first book by this author. I love a secret baby story. Blue & T were meant to be together. I loved the reality of the story. Blue dated until she knew she was ready to be with T. A baby didn’t force them to be together. T felt some type away about Kirby but he had Danni’s aggravating a** lol. Going to check out this author’s catalog. Definitely a must read!

I really loved this captivating story, BUT Terrance got on my last nerve with all the "Zina should have contacted me", nonsense. Girlfriend was working with initials!!!! What was wrong with him dropping some of those millions and hiring a P. I. to find her? Little Tripp was too cute, along with Sasha and Kirby stirring the pot!

Looking forward to reading more books by Miss Bree!

cute

This book was cute. A little repetitive. One night stand turned into more years later! Also a hint workplace romance, since he’s her boss! I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the two and the escalation to spicy scenes felt a little off. Overall, it was cool.

It was also weird that Jarvis wasn’t with his wife for Thanksgiving.

The way I was talking to the characters in the book you would have thought I knew them personally! T definitely was hot headed but his heart was in the right place. Thank God for fate because love truly brought them together. Can’t lie I would have loved to get a lil more drama from Kirby.
