This is a standalone in a shared world. No need to have read the other books first - they can also be read in any order.

Isla has been held captive since she was 10 years old because she's one of the Zodiacs. The council have done some crazy things to her during her captivity (not detailed, only referred back to briefly).

Once she escapes she has to figure out how she can help heal the rift before the council catches up to her. She is aided by Tobias and Elouise (both love interests), and an unlikely Jonte. There is MF and FF but no MM.

I enjoyed all the relationships Isla makes, she's been so sheltered that she's really unsure of herself but it was nice to see her grow in confidence both as a zodiac and also with her relationships. I have to admit, I didn't warm to Jonte, he went from warden to believer a bit too quick and easy for me.

I liked that this wasn't an overly complicated plotline, the characters were sweet and I enjoyed reading their journey.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while as I wanted to know how the council caught a zodiac and this book explains everything. I couldn’t put this book down as I wanted to know what was going to happen with Isla, she not the easy life’s being captive for all those years and when she finally gets her act of freedom she has to learn to be a zodiac and who she is, there is great character growth though this book. I love all the characters and the ending just made me smile .

This is a stand-alone book to a 12 book series. I love this version just because Isla is already captive from the start. The one of the relationships is not my taste but aside from that the book is well written, the characters are love at first sight, and the mental stuff is so accurate. I love how she evenly brings the relationships while also journeying for relics and doing the ritual. This is definitely worth the read!!

This is a stand-alone in a shared world, but the other books do not need to be read to understand what is happening. It is truly a stand-alone. There is is MF and FF but no MM in this quad. It was a fun wick read.

I loved this book and Isla, Elouise, Tobias and Jonte. She gets her second chance of freedom. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
