Fate is the River, but a river’s course can be shifted.
After a rocky visit to Lukosan, Nash is more determined than ever to find answers about his foggy past. But with the Hunt at Arcadia’s doorstep, local creatures shunning him, and his growing feelings for the Alpha of Lukosan, the situation has never been more precarious.
Frustrated and practically bedridden, Eden struggles to ground herself in her identity as well as the new title, Queen of Arcadia. However, fevers and disturbing nightmares might keep her from becoming a ruler, marrying Silas, and living past the winter.
Returning more anxious and already behind with wedding plans, Silas is doing everything in his power to bring Eden back to full health in time for the winter solstice. But between exhaustion and the strange circumstances around Eden’s illness, Silas’s patience and stability wears thin.
After being invited to the royal Arcadian wedding, Andra leads her pack to Arcadia’s warm borders with a plan brewing. Aware of her mistake in giving Eden a ring from a Raven Mocker tree, she and Archer will have to secretly save the Queen before disaster strikes.
Deep in the snowy ridges of the Great Mountain, trouble is brewing for Arcadia. And as the River shifts, it may bring peace or disaster to the valley.
This was a beautiful and satisfying end to this trilogy.
My favorite thing about this series is the way Morgan weaves together folklore and Truth. There’s a joining of things perceived and stories told with the things unseen and what is yet to come.
One of the final chapters - from Archer’s perspective - gave me chills as I read.
Morgan did an amazing job bringing each of the characters through the growth, struggles, and redemption each of them needed individually.
I hope I will have the chance to read more of Morgan’s stories in the future!
PG-13 just cuz it’s a little intense, clean language though! I was getting very annoyed with Andra’s character and the fact that they took so freaking long to get the ring off Eden’s finger. Otherwise I’m glad we finally got to witness the wedding we’ve been waiting for since the first book! I do wish there was an epilogue that took place like 2 or 3 years later about Eden and Silas’s pups just so there was confirmation that she was able to continue the family line and also see them as parents.
