The Clifton Chronicles was an amazing feat of storytelling by Jeffrey Archer. This final volume was a fitting end to the saga of how two families, the Barringtons and the Cliftons, interacted, joined together and forged onwards despite many challenges. Perhaps the greatest challenge to them was, without doubt, the most villainous villainess, The Lady Victoria Fenwick, who makes Cruella DeVille look like a domesticated cat! However, I felt that the denouement was slightly contrived; nonetheless, Lord Barrington's eulogy was a fitting end to a breathtaking rollercoaster of a ride through time, society and family. Bravo, Mr Archer!
A wonderful read and well worthy of 5 stars!
