He created the robot that stole her job... can she stop him from stealing her heart? *** I've finally got my life on track, working at a cute little, small-town library in Maple Valley. I even put a down payment on a house, and then promptly got fired. Why, you ask? Because the new hire doesn't need breaks and will work for free. How can I compete with that?
Smexy tech billionaire Bryan Brooks is the person to blame, and he doesn't want my dream job for himself—that I might understand. No, he built a shelving robot named after my favorite poet and donated it to the library so that it can replace me.
I hate how good he looks in his viral posts and the fact that he has time to talk about my favorite books but can't be bothered to find a shirt.
I'll never forgive him. Not even when he shows me his personal library, complete with floor-to- ceiling books and a rolling ladder. And definitely not when he kisses me while whispering delicious literary quotes that set every inch of me on fire. How can I ever get over the fact that he destroyed my life?
Jane is obsessed with billionaire Bryan Brooks. He is hot, he is smart, and most importantly, he has a love for books. Him being a bibliophile is a huge plus for Jane, with her being a librarian assistant and all. Her obsession with Bryan quickly fades when the robot he creates to help sort books at her library steals her job! Now Jane is unemployed, her crush is now her enemy, and she is stuck trying to figure it all out. It doesn't help when she meets Bryan in person. He is still hot, but she can't possibly like this man! His robot, Byron, stole her job!
This easy to read novella is both spicy and laugh-out-loud funny! I loved everything about Jane and Bryan! I was convinced they were each other's missing piece from their first interaction. Byron, the robot, just added to it all!
This short story is so cute and cozy, with the perfect ending. The pacing was absolutely perfect, which is something I greatly appreciate in a short story. There wasn't an area I felt went lacking, nor was there one that felt too drawn out. The laughs were there, the drama was there, the spice was there, and the romance was definitely there! 4 stars!
Thank you NetGalley, Author Collective 20, Danika Blooms, and Mia Sands for this delightful ARC!
Oh my gosh, that was just so incredibly adorable. It’s a fast and spicy little read that fed all my geeky book boyfriend fantasies. Jane and Bryan were beyond cute together. And, really, the only complaint I have is that it was over way before I was ready for it. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
❝..but there’s just something about this place. Seeing books with worn spines because they’ve been loved and read so many times. Helping people find what they’re looking for. ❞
my thoughts: imagine reading a book about a librarian and her love towards reading and contributing to the book community? isn’t that the best thing already😭 but as if that’s not enough we have our robotics-software-nerd of a man who’s too good to be true (that’s why he’s fictional duh🤪) i wanted the man first but then we come across his library and my jaw dropped!🥵 keep the man just gimme the home library🫣 and we have all of this with a cute story under 100 pages!! best for new readers who want to start small in romance genre with fast paced stories! 💌 and that ending? super sweet HEA loved it! 🥹
read this if you like: - romance novella 🏩 - librarian x billionaire 📚 - insta love to enemies to lovers 🔥 - light feels good read 🥰 - drama - emotions - laughs - spice ⭐️ - fast paced plot 🚀

Thank you BookSirens, Mia Sands and Danika Bloom for providing me with an early copy in exchange for my honest review!
This was an easy read, that I mostly enjoyed. I loved Bryan and Jane together, it was quite surprising I liked this a lot! I also always love billionaire stories, and although he was a bit too over the top nerdy for my liking, the idea of a robot taking over one’s job isn’t far fetched at all. The way he kept trying to fix things, yet still fucked up, was kinda funny. Poor Bryan.
I didn’t really like the constant quoting of other books, it just felt a bit cringy; who talks like that? I also disliked the cringy crowd at the , they totally ruined the moment for me and it wasn’t ‘quirky’. Same goes for the literary references, which ruined the sex for me lol.
The time jumps were also intense. I didn’t expect to just be thrown three months into the future, and then after one chapter, once again. I get that it’s a short story so the timeline has to be a bit quicker, but it just felt so odd. I’m also not sure how I feel about It feels kind of rude idk. Hmpf.
So yeah, it was an entertaining read, but there were some things that bothered me. I just wish we’d gotten a little more relationship development and a little less of Jane talking about losing her job, it was a lot. The pacing just felt a bit off because of the time jumps and the weird balance. But besides that, I did like the romance and the quirkiness!
I loved Jane and Bryan's story. A cozy romance between a library assistant and a billionaire who loves to read and who follows her book recommendations.
One of Bryan's inventions brought them together; and tore them apart.
"I love a man who appreciates books and libraries as much as I do."
"Books always make everything better."
"It's frighteningly erotic to be standing with a hot shirtless man against a backdrop of floor-to-ceiling bookshelves."
Shorter stories are difficult to write and to please the reader. This author has the skills to do both.
Jane was working at the library and has been able to put a deposit down on a hose so life is good, she has just been fired and it is all because of him, he had a robot built who could do her job without being paid or the need for breaks. She hates him or does she? Why did he look so handsome? Can she ever forgive him? Will she have a better life with him in it? See if she gives him the chance he wants
I want more of their story. The mix of billionaire romance plus robots is interesting. I felt bad for Jane but after a while I was like heck in was for the best for her. She went from thinking she loved her job to truly loving her job. Bryan is a slight genius but also kind of dumb when it comes to women but once again everything works out for him in the end too.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ARC REVIEW (Net Galley) I really really enjoyed this!! My biggest irk with novellas is I always feel like they are rushed or I want more content but I think this one is really well balanced!
Jane is an assistant librarian and she is due to be replaced by a robot. A robot designed by a reclusive billionaire who she has an online crush on. Little does she know billionaire Bryan has been obsessed with her since her first reading videos.
This story was really created for fellow book lovers! If you love love and reading it’s the perfect laugh out loud summer read. The little references to different books were great Easter eggs through the story.
One of my only complaints is I wish this was a full book! I think the pacing was really good but omg I would love to see some long form stories by this writing duo.
This was a fun, quirky story, and the author's definitely knows how to make you laugh. With poor Jane, who has always loved her dream job working in the Maple Valley library when a robot named Byron steels it a way from under her thanks to a certain hot billionaire. But that doesn't stop Jane being a fun-loving character who finds herself wondering how she can be attracted to someone who caused her to be fired. Things heat up between the two characters, and I loved the Geeky side of Bryan, who was hot but also a book lover. The mention of Juniper made me smile, and I think it was a cleaver was of introducing one of my favourite books into the story. Then you finish of with that swoon worthy ending that makes me love this new series even more and i'm so lucky there's going to be another one with Jane friend Tabitha which I know I'm sure to love.
This is book one of the Bookish Billionaires of Maple Valley and the main characters are Jane, a library assistant in the town’s library, and billionaire tech wizard Bryan Brooks. He invented a robot and coded it so it could shelve books in libraries, soon meaning Jane lost her job, just after having bought her first house with a huge mortgage and having no other real skills to fall back on. The town council needed to save money and when Bryan offered them his robot as a test, they grabbed it, allowing them to pay for much needed repairs. One thing she loved was her daily Book Talk with Byron videos, which she would post on the Quickstar app just before opening, a place she had stalked the robot’s maker Bryan. She had quite a following locally, but it was only a fun hobby and not something she could use to help pay her bills. Her friend is the library manager and ensures she can work the rest of the month at least, before she finishes up. Bryan comes into the library and tries to convince her to continue her posts, but that throws her into a tizzy and she refuses to give him and his robots free publicity!
He has been following her book talks for as long as she has done them, whilst she has been following his half-dressed posts on social media, along with millions of other women. He has a thing for librarians and is also a bit of a book nerd, with his own private library in his house on the hill above town. He should have tried to speak to her sooner, but he had no idea his donation to the town, would mean she lost her job! He invites her to see his library and she can’t resist him and his obvious love of books, but soon finds herself having to face reality the morning after and acknowledge that they are far too different to ever be together, unlike all the romance books she reads. He wants to help her out, but she refuses to take a handout, so he has to try other options. He persuades her to go to dinner, since she refuses to go back to his house for a meal, and they have a great tie swopping literary quotes back and forth in a perfect date, but he can’t fix her life for her. That is something only she can do and he is going to have to give her the space and time to do it for herself! He has to give her the time to come to her own decision as to whether she wants to be with him as much as he wants to be with her. Part of her life has continued, as she realised she still loved doing it and soon brings her a chance for more and a proper income, doing something she loves. He destroyed her life, but is also the very reason she gets more than she could ever have hoped for. A short, small town romance, with two people who love books but who are in completely different social circles, secretly hiding their crush on the other.
I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
●Shelve That Billionaire by Mia Sands and Danika Bloom●
*I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review*
Publishes June 3rd!
This was such a cute enemies to lovers novella, which happens to have angst, yearning and spice despite being just short of 100 pages!
The story begins right away with the FMC Jane happily working a shift at the library in adorable small town Maple Valley, until her job suddenly gets cut because swoon worthy genius and billionaire Bryan (the MMC) created a shelving robot that takes her place. Despite both of the characters secretly having crushes on each other from obsessing over each other's social media they definitely don't get off to a great start.
The narratives are relatable, especially because both are massive book lovers like many of us, and there's a lot of literary romantic gestures which I found so cute. There's only a small amount of spice in this book, and whilst it felt a little sudden it was well written and started off their relationship with a bang. Jane and Bryan's relationship does go through a miniature rollercoaster of highs and lows- with some drama too- but thankfully the making up was quick and reasonable.
The novella has a cute epilogue set two years later, with a nice HEA! Overall I found it to be a quick and simple feel good romantic read, nothing overly special but perfect for that little pick me up.
I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Jane and billionaire Bryan have had a secret crush on each other after following each other on social media. Jane works at the local library and does a mini vlog series titled ‘Book Talk with Byron’. Byron is a robot created by Bryan in order to help organise the library. The library board made a decision to get rid of Jane’s job as it is no longer needed now they have Bryan’s robot in place. Jane starts to despise Bryan and blames him for losing her job. After filming her final ‘Book Talk with Byron’, she receives a special visit from Bryan himself.
This novella was super cute and it was really relatable. I love that it was focused around the connection books can create between two people. It touches slightly on enemies to lovers with Jane feeling frustrated at Bryan for creating a robot that makes her lose her job. It was everything I look for in a romance book, funny, romantic and spicy. I was impressed that all of this was included in such a short novella.
The ‘Book Talk with Byron’ reminded me so much of the content I watch on YouTube and BookTok. I found Jane really relatable and easy to connect with as an FMC
The two years later epilogue was so heart warming and I was so happy to hear about their happily ever after.
Billionaire romance is one of my favourite tropes and this was done so well.
I have to admit, this book was incredibly cute, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Honestly, I'm amazed at how much Mia Sands and Danika Bloom were able to pack into just 84 pages! In such a short read, they managed to firmly establish well-rounded characters, create an emotional twist, and include plenty of humor and steam. It's remarkable how they delivered just about everything you would expect from a full-length novel within such a compact format.
Bryan and Jane were perfect for each other and easy to adore as they each had their unique quirks and qualities (especially Jane’s sense of humor, wit, and just blunt honesty). The emotional twist made you sympathize with Jane’s character, becoming protective of her reasoning as to why Bryan was not an ideal or likely partner. With such a short novella, you might assume conflict would be avoided, but the addition was both surprising and satisfying, adding depth to the story and keeping me fully engaged. The humor was spot-on (I loved it when Jane spoke right off the cuff—no filter!), providing light-hearted moments that balanced the more intense emotional conflicting moments and intimate scenes.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, satisfying romantic comedy. Despite being a quick read, "Shelve That Billionaire" felt complete and left me eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.
Jane is being fired from the library job she loves because of Bryan. The billionaire technology genius created a shelving robot to do her job. It also doesn't require benefits, breaks, or time off.
She named the robot Byron, her favorite poet, because of a problem with the library's label maker. The package containing the robot had been labeled Bryan 1.0.
Jane realizes the library does need more money for programs and renovations, but she does more than just shelving books. With her degree being in English, the job market isn't rife with opportunities. If only Bryan had donated money instead of a robot. She can also say goodbye to the two-story townhouse if she can't make the mortgage payments.
Bryan Brooks never meant for Jane to lose her job. His usual solution of throwing money at a problem isn't working for Jane. She thinks their differences are just too big to overcome. He fell in love with her while watching her Talk with Byron videos. His library can almost make her melt, and his ability to use literary quotations is impressive, but can he get her to see the man he truly is?
I received an ARC of this book from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
This was a cute novella, with a little spice thrown in.
Jane loves her job as an assistant librarian. She also loves the shelving robot that she accidentally names Byron. She also just happens to have a huge crush on the billionaire Bryan who created Byron and donated him to her library. Her huge crush quickly turns to hate when she loses her job to the robot.
Bryan in a billionaire who loves to tinker, build robots, read, and watch Jane's videos with the robot Byron. When he sees her last video stating that it will be her last, he will do anything to keep her there.
This book is a very short novella, things happen really quickly. I would have loved for it to be a little longer so that their relationship could grow. It all seemed a little rushed to me. I did love the epilogue that gave us a look into the future.
There were some really cute book related romantic gestures from Bryan and Jane. I am looking forward to the next book.
Thank you Maple Laughs Romance and Netgalley for this book in exchange for my very honest review.
This is a cute short story. I was debating between a 3.5 and 4 stars because the problem with short stories is that sometimes they seem hurried to me and this is the case here.
Jane works at the local library but thanks to the town's nerdy billionaire she gets fired. Bryan gave the library a robot to help shelve their books and because of that, the library didn't think she was necessary anymore.
So when she says in her online channel that she won't do more lives talking with the robot about books, Bryan, the billionaire, who is secretly in love with her needs to fix it. He is as nerdy and antisocial as he is handsome so she is infatuates with him but when he shows at the library and starts stalking her to try to date and help her she is furious because it's because of him she was fired from her dream work and he thinks money can fix it all.
It was real cute how she tries to make him see how he needs to let her save herself, and we get to read some hot moments between them too in this short romcom.
3.5🌟 As this is a short novella, I did not expect complex character development and the characters are fine, especially Jane the librarian and her extreme devotion to books and inspiring others to find the joy of reading. The basic plot is good and I loved the idea of Jane's one-sided conversations with robot Byron. Billionaire Bryan's cluelessness about the consequence of his casual donation of a robot to the local library seemed all too realistic. Just one issue.
The steamy stuff comes way too soon! Yes, the characters have seen each other on social media, but not in person, when the passion explodes. It's just too much at that stage, unexpected and, for me, totally unrealistic, better reserved for closer to the end.
Thanks to Maple Laughs Romance and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the story; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
Library assistant Jane (h) loves her job at Maple Valley Library and her weekly online book talk with Byron, the new automated shelving robot donated by the town’s billionaire, Bryan (H). But her world is turned upside down when her position is eliminated and given to Byron. Bryan never intended for his robot to displace Jane or take anyone's job and is determined to help make things right by supporting her however he can. Jane's fury at Bryan gives way as they spend more time together, and they connect with one another. Things heat up between the two, even as Jane struggles with her feelings about Bryan’s wealth and influence and her need for autonomy. Loved how supportive Bryan is of Jane, but some of his helps backfire on him, causing problems in their relationship. Hot and steamy bibliophile, small town romance with a side of humor and creative use of books as Bryan and Jane find their balance between love and independence. Isn't that where everyone stores their condoms?
💌 and SPOILER ALERT that ending? this is the first romance book I have read with the pregnancy sub trope and it’s cute🥹

🚀I received this book copy from NetGalley and the authors in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book in the series, the Bookish Billionaires of Maple Valley. It's a whip-smart, high-energy romance with laugh-out-loud humor that hits all the right romantic comedy notes. Jane is seriously crushing on billionaire Bryan. He has a love of books that rivals her own. But that crush quickly sizzles out when he costs Jane her job. Jane is a librarian assistant and Bryan donates a robot to the library that helps sorts books, basically causing Jane's unemployment. She understandably now hates him. But when she meets him in person, she can't help but like him, no matter how hard she tries otherwise.
The chemistry between Bryan and Jane crackles on every page, fueled by their shared love of books. Perfect if you're in the mood for sort of an enemies-to-lovers romance with characters who are as interesting as they are endearing, and you can't help root for them. I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Shelve that Billionaire by Danika Bloom/Mia Sands Book 1 Bookish Billionaires of Maple Valley Rating:4/5 Release Date: 3 June 2024
"Shelve that Billionaire" offers a charming dual-POV narrative in a delightful short read. We embark on Jane's journey, who believes her life is on track until she unexpectedly loses her job. Enter billionaire Bryan Brooks.
This story exudes warmth and cuteness, leaving me brimming with happiness. Despite its brevity, this novella packs a punch. The plot is skilfully crafted, and the characters possess undeniable charm.
If you're seeking a swift and cozy read, I wholeheartedly recommend this series.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Maple Laughs Romance, and the authors, Danika Bloom and Mia Sands, for providing me with an ARC copy in exchange for an honest and fair review.
This novella had a lot of potential. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the romance felt rushed. I get that the MMC and the MFC had fallen for each other's online personas, but I needed a bit more romantic parts for me to really believe in their relationship.
Perhaps if this book were full length the relationship would be more well rounded.
Overall, it was a cute romance filled with literary references and books! I just wish we could have had more developed characters and romance. I do understand it is a novella and that does impact the authors ability to develop characters and romance.
I think you should read it if you are looking for a bookish romance with a billionaire who loves to read. That is pretty swoon worthy.

What’s not to love about two book-quoting, book-loving nerds. Bryan and Jane are simply adorable, though I admit I felt like I was repeating a tongue twister at times trying to keep Bryan and Byron straight 😊 What’s more, even if Bryan hadn’t felt bad about getting Jane fired, I would have fallen in love as soon as they walked into his library. I could see it in my mind (*sigh*). I’m glad he tried to make amends, albeit he was a bit highhanded. When Jane quoted Bronte’s Jane Eyre, I thought yes, that was pretty much how I saw her. Quiet and unassuming, but passionate about the things she loved (books, in this case). I loved the idea of a perfume that smelled of books, it would certainly save me a lot of trips to the local bookstore to sniff them surreptitiously. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh my words! I love this book. It's a fast burn, contemporary romance that made me swoon and laugh out loud. There's just enough drama between the main characters to make things interesting, but the hilarious situations were what hooked me and never let me go.
I especially enjoyed the enemies to lovers, internet celebrity romance angle. Both of the main characters have internet channels on QuickStar (a fictional social media platform), and Bryan is the celebrity.
The female main character is a librarian named Jane, and the male main character - Bryan - is a robot inventing billionaire. These two butt heads (and other parts) a lot, and it's hilarious.
A few more of my favorite things: the window incident, the "encyclopedia", the bookish puns, and Bryan's librarian kink.
I'm so excited to read the next book in this amazing series!
This is a quick and easy book to read. It's perfect to read on a beach on a lazy sunny day. Jane loves her job a assistant librarian given daily book recommendations with Byron the Robot on her daily posts, she loves everything about working in the library from the customers to just reading the books to children at the weekly children's club. Bryan enjoys programming his inventions from library stacking robots to towel folding ones. But most of all he loves listening to the daily library podcast, or should I say the woman giving them. But then the robot he's designed actually replaces her and now she's unemployed. This is a funny heartwarming spicy story with the added bonus of being about books as well. Can these two fund common ground or will technology end and chance of romance.

Danika Bloom and Mia Sands novel Shelve that Billionaire (Bookish Billionaires of Maple Valley: Book 1) is a cute, steamy novella that hits just right.
It follows Jane, an assistant librarian who loves her job yet finds herself at risk because of the newest technology. Tech by a man whom she adores but may start to hate if it causes her to lose her job.
This tech billionaire who loves books so much he created a book-shelving robot to help out his local library and because he adores books. He finds himself at odds with Jane who simultaneously loves and hates him.
The authors have created a fun, engaging story quite quickly and I love it..the passion, the love, the books. . .it literally has it all.

SHELVE THAT BILLIONAIRE was entertaining. The plot was filled with a young lady assiduously working as a librarian assistant, losing her job due to technology in the form of a robot, announcing her departure via social media, losing the "Byron" book talk, meeting with the responsible party, spending time with the billionaire, bringing Byron book talk back, getting millions of followers, taking in an awesome announcement, falling in love, receiving an offer one can't refuse, and a delightful surprise. Furthermore, Jane and Byran, the protagonists, were soul mates and gushed with chemistry. In addition, I liked the author's vivid descriptions and word choices which created an upbeat tone. Overall, I liked the amusing narrative. I received a copy for free and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
I will admit billionaire books always leave me wishing it was me in the story, but this time it made me really wish I was in Jane’s position. Who wouldn’t want a man who had money to buy books and has his own private library, with a dewy decimal system that includes all the books you’ve read and recommended. Jane is very luckily and even if she hates Bryan slightly, since the robot he made, made her lose her library job. Bryan is determined to make it up to Jane, even if he does it in ways she doesn’t appreciate. Though that won’t stop him, or Will it. Can a three month break between seeing each other end with a happy reunion, or will Jane find Bryan’s heart shaped book a fail.
I can’t wait to read the second book to this series, it seems it’s gonna be just as amazing as this first book
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This short book (actually I think it's a short story) tells the story of Jane, a library assistant who loses her job when a bookshelf robot does her work for free. Jane meets the developer of the robot and unwittingly falls in love with him.
This story was a very quick read, and due to its brevity, the characters and events did not form a very deep picture. I honestly felt that some things had been simplified a little too much.
However, the story was cute and funny, so three stars.
