Moments Duet #2

The Moment We Know

Rate this book
How often do second chances come along in your life?

A second chance to right a wrong, or reverse a bad decision you regretted making?

What about a second chance to get your girl back—along with a marriage that was stolen from you by the man who walked your bride down the aisle?

Would you go for it, even knowing you might fail?

Because going for it means risking your heart on the success of an arrangement she thinks is temporary …

… and failure means sacrificing your soul if she decides to walk away when the arrangement is over.

For David Lowe, the answer is as complicated as it is simple:

He has no choice, because second chances don’t come around very often.

Is anyone else tired with this whole "It's always been you" and "I never stopped loving you" trope while he f***s OW and has a kid with her and now it's expected that FMC will be the kid's mommy because OW is no longer in the picture?

This is book 2. For my full review, check out book 1 - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I am looking for the day when people who write this stuff do away with this crap. One can only hope that is...🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

What the hell did i just read. H not only screws the ow who is h's nemesis within 6 months of divorce which happened after he lost the baby with h, then goes to have a kid with ow almost immediately, names him the same as the child they lost and continues seeing ow until he runs into h where ow physically assaults h after spewing shit about all this, their bj in the morning and more. After all of this, obviously H loves h so much that she should want to raise his kid because ow got out. This was such a crapfest, I'm surprised at the all 5 star reviews

Tell me what the author was smoking when he wrote this please , I'd very much like to avoid it.

Edit - Apparently author is a women, I'll never understand how one can write such a 'romance' where H is an asshole and h is a doormat who accepts the bare minimum

The Moments We Know (Moments Duet #2) by D.E. Daniel

5/5 stars

The Moments We Know is the second book in the Moments Duet and heavens it touched me in my core. It was so easy to fall away in this softly spoken, beautifully written and kind story.

The book starts with a heartbreaking scene between Paige and David that leads to their divorce. And I am not gonna lie. I was a little angry when I read it. Angry at how easily David gave up. In the present, the now he does absolutely anything for her. Anything to help her heal, grow, become even more powerful. Why didn't he back then? Why leave her? Why not believe in the love they share.
Well I spoke with the author after I read the first book. And like I already wrote in my review about the first book is that they unfortunately just simply grew apart. And the author confirmed that. And things happened so quickly after their divorce. Ashley was instantly after David and that supposedly unexpected pregnancy came so quick that there simply wasn't time to naturally gravitate towards each other again. So I found my peace with his inaction at the time. It's simply a part of life and a relationship. It's hard work and there are times when both people just don't fight anymore. You always need to fight for those you love and seeing how hard they were both fighting for their second chance was stunning and beautiful to read.

And that is what this sequel is about. It's about fighting for your second chance and never, ever giving up. It's about loving passionately and unconditionally. I really felt all their feelings in my own heart and I was rooting for them throughout. David's vow is to help Paige find her sexuality again in this book. With no strings attached. Just plain old finding lust and joy in sex again.

This one isn't only a beautiful and heartfelt book, but it also contains so much joy and so many funny moments. I love how at the start of the book their no self love rule bites them both in the ass. I was grinning like an idiot at their attempt at no self love haha. I love how nothing deters them. When Paige has a headache and cancels their date, he draws her a bath. If he has an obligation she finds another slot of time in her schedule.

There is one pivotal scene in the book where Paige flees David's house. And reading how that entire storyline unfolds was such a joy to read. I am so proud of both of them.

But my absolute favorite storyline is the one with Jacob. It was heart-wrenching. I was so, so, so, so pissed at two people in his life. And I am so happy that Jacob has David and Paige. Seeing Paige become his true mother, seeing them starting to love each other. Feeling safe with each other was the best part of this book. And seeing him grow and evolve into such a fine young man was stunning to see. With everything he went through, he still came out strong, happy and healthy.

I also adore David's mother Valerie and Dolly. Those two ladies will steal everyone's heart. I am convinced of that. And I hope that my bond with my son will be as strong as David's and Valerie's relationship when he is an adult.

And Ashley's arc. My goodness that second epilogue nearly broke me to pieces. Because I truly hated her character throughout this duology. The things she does are abhorrible towards Jacob. But that second epilogue was stunning, absolutely stunning.

A huge shoutout to the best BFF's in this novel. Jules and Evan aka Dick. I love how they are there for their best friends. And Dick having to save David had me giggling a little bit haha. And Jules unrelenting support is admirable.

And I really want to address some of those negative reviews that are written under this book. They are so utterly unfair. Reading like twenty pages and judging an entire book and attacking an author is NOT okay. Yes it's okay for you to dislike a book, and it's okay to write a review that suits your thoughts and feelings, but do it with respect and kindness. And not full of hatred and spewing nonsense. Dayna, you are incredible, believe in your talent and keep on writing. Show them how incredible you are.

5 huge stars from me for this stunning book. ♥

The conclusion to the Moments duet and the conclusion to Paige and David’s story. You must read book one! I could not stop thinking about book one; for a debut, it stuck with me. Paige and David have one emotional story, and they put in the work. Will they get a second chance?

Paige and David have been divorced for about 5 years, and while book one is a slow burn, book two will hit you in all the feels. David has a plan to get Paige back, and his execution has a few bumps along the way. Will they risk their hearts to get their second chance?

I am going to keep this author on my radar; I am excited to see who she writes next.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

The Moment We Know by D.E. Daniel is Book 2 of the Moments Duet. This is the conclusion of Paige and David’s story and is not a stand-alone. Book 1, The Moment You Know, must be read first.
Both books are written in 3rd person omniscient but the writing style in which Mrs. Daniel’s writes somehow make this a non-issue. There is a lot of dialogue and perhaps that is the reason. I was halfway through the first book before I even realized. She writes fluidly and never leaves a trail of “empty space” in the characters actions or thoughts. The words flow so effortlessly making one crave for more.
David and Paige are characters that grab one’s heart and don’t let go. They are maneuvering through a new chapter of their lives and attempting to do it together for a second chance. Each has obstacles they must overcome to progress forward. However, they are not always on the same page at the same time making the journey to begin anew difficult. Just when one decides to take one step forward the other takes two steps back. This dance they find themselves in takes the reader on a turbulent ride at times. Love is powerful, but is it enough for them to cleanse their palates and paint a new picture of how they can live together as one unit?
Along the way, there are frustrating, witty, sweet, sexy and downright dirty moments between Paige and David along with the secondary characters that each deserve a book of their own. This book is all encompassing combining a story and writing that evokes a whole host of emotions. The book includes not one, but two epilogues. I love when the author gives the reader this opportunity to see what the future held for the characters. The Moment We Know is a page turner and a must read!
This book is a second chance romance with some material that is dark but it is not a dark book. The material be a trigger for some but it is discussed and not an on-page active scene.
I highly recommend this 5⭐️ book and look forward to reading more by D.E. Daniel in the future!

I really didn’t like the MMC. All he cared for was sex. He divorced his wife because lack of sex, skimmed so idk if he did or not but it didn’t even seem like he tried counselling with his wife to fix their issues? Just up and announced divorce mid way during sex of course. Then the DAY he signed his divorce papers he goes to a bar to hook up with a random girl. He didn’t go through with it in the end but he went almost all the way, like back to her room etc so intent was there. He then hooks up with his assistant (OW) on his birthday, which was the same day he had also met FMC. That little detail just showed how little he cared about FMC. Anyway, he dates the OW 6 months after his divorce (can you tell how much he loved his wife 🙄?) then stops using condoms a month in. wtf. Barely with this girl and you’re ok going bare? Of course she gets pregnant straight away.

He bumps into FMC 4 years later while out with his girlfriend (OW) and OW is being a bitch to the FMC and reveals that they are a couple, have been pretty much since their divorce and also have a son together. Get this, he named his son after his dead child (miscarriage) with FMC. Again, can you feel how much he loved his wife? So MMC and FMC had a miscarriage not long before divorce and they planned to name their son after MMC (first and middle name reversed). He named his son with OW the same name he had chosen for his child with FMC. That is honestly the most awful thing a person can do. It’s completely neglecting to acknowledge you made a baby with your wife, who lost said baby. FMC makes a good comment to MMC about “glad you could put your wife and son behind you so easily” and she’s spot on with that.

OW gets pissed cos FMC calls her and cunt and she assaults her (pushes her to point FMC falls, bangs her head and is unconscious, has to go to hospital). While MMC is trying to check if FMC is ok he turns round to see OW on her phone, like she couldn’t care less. He asks her what she’s doing she says “googling affordable lawyers” he thinks “under different circumstances he’d laugh at that”. What. In. The. Actual. Fuck. She just assaulted someone, could not give two fucks and you find it funny? And the MMC has the audacity to not realise how heartless the OW is. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck my guy…

MMC finds out OW blocked FMC and emailed her from his account basically keeping them out of contact with one another so he leaves and they co-parent. Idk why it took him this long to leave. OW is painted at this vapid, narcissistic, bitch who is an uninvolved mother and all round awful partner. So many red flags but he stayed with her for 4 years, you know why? Sex. Again, all he cares about is sex. He couldn’t make it work with his wife who he loved, yet he stuck around with a woman he didn’t love because she gave him sex.

Second book is way too long, mostly about MMC and FMC having sex. Which, she has past trauma around SA so that’s fair, but he didn’t deserve to be the man who helped her through that when he replaced her so easily. It pissed me off how much FMC kept apologising for how her trauma impacted MMC and their marriage, I get feeling sorry but she kept going over how she “never wants to put another man through” what MMC went through with her as if she abused him. And he just let her apologise? MMC deserved nothing from FMC.

In the end, OW gives up her parental rights cos she a neglectful mother who didn’t care that her boyfriend abused her son and comes back to see son when he’s 18, MMC and FMC are married and raise kids. OW apologies to her son, and talks to MMC stating she never had a chance with him because it’s “always been FMC for him” he replies “I think so” I’m sorry, you THINK? At the very end he should have been like FUCK YES she’s the only women I ever wanted but he still is trying to be nice to OW? Honestly he showed more respect for a women who abused his own son than he ever did for FMC.

I was blown away by the first book in this duet, The Moment You Know, and dove straight into this book, desperate to see what was going to happen. After the emotional tumult of the first book, this is a calmer continuation of David and Paige’s story that still has drama and challenges to overcome, but felt more like a gloriously extended epilogue, and I loved seeing these two finally get their HEA.

This book is not a standalone, please don’t try to read it as one. Check out the emotional triggers because this duet deals with sensitive subject matter, and beware spoilers below for book, #1, The Moment You Know.

Five years after their divorce, David and Paige are back in each other’s lives and are ‘dating’ (of a sort). Paige is no longer the girl that David once knew. She’s been through hell and has pulled herself through, emerging as a stronger, more confident woman, and the two of them are enjoying getting to know each other once again... in all the ways.

“The thought of another man experiencing what I was experiencing with you was unfathomable to me.”

Holy damn, this book is hot. These two are completely open and honest about everything, and they are exploring absolutely everything together. They hold nothing back, continuing Paige’s journey of healing, and their banter, teasing, heartfelt conversations and physical intimacy is just amazing.

“I've always loved you... Even the five years we were divorced, I loved you.”

Their reunion is not without challenges, but they are both better equipped to deal with them now, so they face it all head-on and work through it sensibly, supporting each other through it all, and I loved seeing them so strong. D.E. Daniel is an author who shows rather than tells, so there’s lots of detail, and we’re up close and personal with everything that happens in the book, and I loved being so immersed in the story.

David, Paige and little Jacob completely owned my heart throughout this duet. I love them as characters, I love their journey, and I loved that we got such a beautifully heartfelt story for them. There’s an epilogue which provides wonderful closure, and I finished this book feeling happy and so satisfied at how it all played out.

Another beautiful read, I loved this one.

As much as I enjoyed the story of Paige and David, I felt it could have been told in 1 book. I skimmed. More so in book 2 definitely. A lot of day to day mundane things to fill pages. I enjoyed her writing and the storyline itself, just not the pathway to get there.

I’ve noticed it’s becoming a thing with duets and even some 3 book series where the story will be drawn out with unnecessary details or dialog that doesn’t help move a story forward.

The Moment We Know, the second instalment in D.E. Daniel's compelling duet, is a beautifully crafted story that delves deeper into the emotional hurdles faced by Paige and David as they find their way back to each other after five years apart. This poignant follow-up sheds more light on the individual traumas and heartaches both characters must overcome, offering readers an intimate glimpse into their journey of healing and rediscovery.

D.E. Daniel's writing style is so immersive that it will make you feel as though you're either Jules or Evan, trying to understand each perspective. Paige and David's characters show extraordinary growth across both books, making their reunion deeply satisfying.

As a girl's girl, I was very protective of Paige in book one! Paige, who emerges from her struggles as a resilient and self-assured woman, is a beacon of strength throughout this book. Her determination to fight for the people she loves and stand up for herself was truly inspiring.

David, on the other hand, shows remarkable character growth. His earnest efforts to make amends are both heart-wrenching and satisfying. His heartfelt grovelling and sincere attempts to prove his worth and win back Paige’s heart are touching. The way D.E. Daniel portrays David’s transformation makes you oscillate between understanding and judging him, ultimately leading to a heartfelt redemption that is sure to win over even the most skeptical readers (like me!).

Jules and Evan were great side characters. They play crucial roles that enhance the story's texture and make the main characters' struggles and triumphs more poignant. However, the standout characters who added depth and comedic relief to this emotional journey were David's mother and Paige's neighbour. Their presence provided not only great emotional support for the main characters but also moments of levity that balance the heavier themes of the story. And I'm glad that David's mother did not shy away from reading him the riot act!

The subplot involving Jacob is handled with great sensitivity and care, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative. The extended epilogue is a delightful surprise, tying up loose ends and providing a satisfying conclusion to Paige and David's story.

Overall, The Moment We Know is a touching, heartfelt, and beautifully written book that will resonate with readers long after the last page. D.E. Daniel has created a story that not only entertains but also deeply moves, making it worthy of a glowing 4.5-star rating. Whether you're a girl's girl or not, this story's emotional honesty and character depth will captivate you. If you're looking for a romance that tugs at your heartstrings while making you smile, this book is a must-read.

Wow! What a debut from D.E. Daniels!!

I had little to no idea what to expect from this story based on the blurb. I have to say I was intrigued to see where the plot line would lead.
D.E. crafted a beauty of a debut novel.. With sensitivity and beautiful emotion this unusual second chance romance is a real page turner.

No spoilers here, because everyone needs to read this book, just a little taste of what's in store for you when you read this debut duet!

Paige our LFC, was dealt a serious life altering trauma. So much so that it has affected every aspect of her life and behavior. Her characters growth through the 1st book was awe inspiring to witness. Her rebirth from trauma and her journey to becoming a "normal" healthy adult are truly sincerely tear inducing.

David is 100% the kind of MLC you fall in love with, gorgeous, funny, intelligent, arty and a little bit of a smart ass, flawed in a way that was endearing rather then annoying.

D.E. Could not have made two people more perfect for one another than Paige and David. It was obvious from the start of their relationship.
I loved how the story unfolded from the present to previous flashback scenes, the transitions were handled wonderfully right up to David and Paige's current reality.

With that being said, please heed the authors TW in the beginning of the book. Some subject matter may be hard for some to read.

All in all I am so glad to have picked up this debut duet series from D.E. and think she is a fresh voice in the romance community.

This series is really stellar from start to finish.

My heart broke for our main characters and what they lived through,
I do love a second chances romance and this one was particularly powerful!

This is the second book in The Moments duet, and you MUST read the first book before this one. Book one, The Moment You Know, is among my top reads of this year, so to say that I've been highly anticipating the conclusion to David and Paige's story would be an understatement.

David and Paige have been divorced for years, but with new information about the cause of their failed marriage, David is ready to get his girl back. Paige thinks that their arrangement is temporary, but David is determined to make it permanent. A second chance with the only woman that he's ever loved is worth risking his heart again.

The first part of book two is a lighter read with David and Paige "dating" and getting to know each other again after years apart. There is plenty of banter and the heat between these two continues to build. These characters decide to ignore the "elephant in the room", but I really wanted to address the elephant and I found myself anxiously awaiting the moment that the elephant would present itself.

Eventually, David and Paige must focus on their years apart if they have any hope of a future together, and then this story does take an emotional turn. While I didn't find the second half of their story to be as emotional as the first half, I still felt so much right along with these characters. This story is written in a way that just feels real...it's real life and I could relate to these characters' thoughts and feelings and I imagine that I would feel exactly the same if put in their situation.

This is a long book, and although I desperately wanted to see how it would end, I never found myself wanting to skip ahead. Every part of this story felt complete by the end, and if you're one of those readers that skips the epilogue...you can't do that here. The final epilogue was something that I never even expected, but I felt like it was exactly what these characters needed and it was what I needed too.

This duet is D.E. Daniel's debut work, and with it, she has become one of my new favorite authors. I can't wait to see what she writes next.

A remarkable second and concluding book in The Moments duet! I had a great time reading this and couldn’t put it down. The characters came to life for me and really drew me in - I think Evan and little Jacob are my favorites (who doesn’t like a bar owner and cool kid). As I read this I found myself laughing out loud one second, only to become tense due to conflict or arising issue the next. I like complex content and storylines and this book has it. And… like the first book, this one arouse the love spirits plus, plus, plus. Finally, the author did a great job tying everything up at the end - a great finish to a phenomenal story.
I’m looking forward to the next DE Daniel book!

So healing

I loved this series! It was very heart healing with a perfect ending. The first part of book was very light with lots of spice! But the second part was so needed and wonderfully written. I needed that ending. Definitely putting this author on my must read list.

The continuance of The Moment You Know. Paige tells David what she is looking for out of life moving forward and that she has yet to be with someone after their divorce. David offers to help her work through some of the things she still need to test and see if she has overcome. He feels like he deserves the privilege of it since he nor Paige were aware of the traumas from her childhood that played a big role in her disconnect. But David also has a plan in place to win her back into his life permanently. They work through tons of things that they never thought would be possible. No spoilers here, but I absolutely recommend this duet.

3.5 stars. Definitely not as good as the first book, but a good conclusion. Though I have opinions. Definitely this author has biases and she makes them clear throughout. I didn't mind them too much, but was irked by some random comments she has here characters say. She's obviously against uncircumcised penises as she made it sound gross and dirty. She referenced this with Paige's uncle who was her abuser. The quote being close to, "made me suck his uncircumcised dick." Was it necessary though? To use uncircumcised? Instead of just saying dick? Why reference them together? Not every country circumcises their sons and that's ok. I'm not married to an American so TMI my son's are not circumcised because it's not done in the country I'm living in. It's not their culture, but this author made it so dirty I felt whiplash. I don't know. This is probably ridiculous to call out in a book, but she rubbed me the wrong way on a few things actually, but I won't get into specifics because to each their own. 🤷

This book was entirely too long and could have been cut down honestly. The best part about this story though was Jacob, David's son from ow getting the family he deserved. This kid was thrown around like a hot potato between both books getting pushed off between everyone. And being only 4 was not healthy. I enjoyed most of the banter between Paige and David. It was comical many times. The side characters were enjoyable. Especially Evan. Jules was annoying at times, but grew on me. As the story goes it honestly reads like real life. You're getting their day to day life plus the reconciliation of Paige and David's relationship. Now the thing I didn't care for was actually the last epilogue of the story because there are two. There's a reconciliation between them and Ashley which I didn't care for. Yes, she's Jacob's mother, but she checked out when he was 4 and I would have been happy if she stayed gone to be honest. The shit she caused was just wrong.

Overall this was just ok for me. I know this is a new author so I think it's a pretty good debut and duet.

I'm not sure what to rate this so I'm gonna just leave it as read.

This my review for both books. First the second book was way to long and IMO these books could of been condensed down to one.

I dont know how I feel about David or his reasoning for all the shit he did. On one hand he had every right to move on but moving on so fast was pretty fucking brutal. Honestly he said it best with " I essentially gave up on you—on us—which is a fail in my book." I concor David.

Now on to giving their miscarried baby's name to his child with the OW...this really bugged me and I think its because he basically was replacing their child no matter what he says. I've read books where the Hero steals the names they ( H & h) picked out for their babies and names their kids with the OW those name and it wasn't a deal breaker ( Creed by Kristen Ashley). This though didn't feel like "honoring" their child like David claims.

I also don't understand why he stayed with Ashley so long. Their relationship was a toxic mess.

I enjoyed Paige's growth though.

So all in all I'll just say I didnt regret reading it😂😅 I will second Dani though and say that epilouge was stupid

I read the first book in this duplex and really loved it and started the second book awhile ago. But its long..its actually the longest book Ive read this year ( 561 pages) but Im glad I did finish the ebook on KU.

So this book os the continuation of the reconciliation between the fmc and mmc who were married and have been divorced for 5 years..he has a 4 year old son with an absolutely detectable woman who tests the limits of a horrible mother in this bag. They are taking it slow in being in a relationship again. Even sexually they are taking it slow as the mmc doesn't want to retramatize the fmc who went through awful childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her Uncle and although he's deadband shes been in therapy for years plus wrote a book on her experience, sex in general is a trigger for her. He also keeps her from meeting his son at first and doesn't even tell his best friend who he is dating.

That part bothered me as sometimes I saw his actions although protective to be kind of assholery. Especially about not telling his best friend. Eventually he does introduce her to his Don and is relieved that she takes on the mother role his ex is not taking on.

I liked the slow development but in the begining I thought it was super slow. I thought this book was really well written and deserves 5 🌟.

When real life stopped interrupting, I dove right into this story. I can't express how much I enjoyed this duet and can't believe these are the author's first works.

David and Paige are couple goals. Their journey will make you smile, bring tears to your eyes and want to scream at your kindle. There are moments of pure joy in this story that balances out the heartbreaking moments.

At one point in this story I thought I was going to have to hire a doctor to extract David's head out of his a$$. My heart darn near broke during the photo shoot....The final epilogue was chef's kiss!

Want to know what I'm talking about, guess you better read the story!

This duet (The Moment You Know, The Moment We Know) is an incredible work and are among the best books that I've ever read. You will become so invested in this couple that you will not be able to wait to find out how everything works out for them. Watching Paige reclaim her life and her sexuality is truly beautiful, and sheds a light on the healing process from abuse. Book 2 continues immediately following the end of book 1, so it is like one major work. Support an indie author and purchase both of these novels. You will not regret it.

Good Read

Such a good book. The effects that pedophiles have on their victims is enormous and not as noticeable until the victim seeks help like Paige did. David’s love for Paige was all consuming that it didn’t allow him to see that she needed help but it allow to understand what she was going through and gave their love a second chance.

Happy ending but would have liked more

The ending makes you curious as to where you was going with Ashley. I would love to have had more of David's point of view for some parts. Sadly he left his marriage over sex. He broke her heart and cast her away without wanting to find out what was wrong. Counseling or any help ,you felt he just walked away and didn't care. It was only a few months and involved with a conniving woman who he should have used condoms with and yet had a kid with in less than a year he left Paige. You can't help but feel he couldn't have loved her as much as he said. His actions showed otherwise. I always have a hard time if the guy is so nice how he ends up with someone so conniving as Ashley and so many say it. The humor was fun and I loved her friend Jules and his friend Evan. I would read these books again.

I went into this book with high expectations, having loved the first installment, but unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my hopes. While I still adored the relationship between David and Paige, and appreciated their fresh start, the book felt overly long and dragged out in places. I wished the first book had been more comprehensive and wrapped up the story, rather than stretching it into two parts. Although I enjoyed exploring Jacob's trauma and Paige's supportive role in his healing, it felt somewhat disconnected from the main plot and slowed the pace. Despite these reservations, I still enjoyed the book, particularly the heartwarming bond between Paige and Jacob. A solid, if not spectacular, follow-up.

Heartbreaking and healing in one beautiful story. First let me start with this: for those that gave 1 star reviews-if you don't like the trope, don't read it. The low reviews are more about their hangups and not the quality of David and Paige's story. I DEVOURED both books in 2 days. I didn't realize it was a duet and damn near lost my mind when I finished the first book at 9:00 pm on a weeknight. I had to start the second one immediately and was up until 3:00 am reading even though I had to be up for work at 7:30 am. I finished it later that day, taking an early lunch break because I couldn't focus on work until I was done.

I absolutely fell in love with David and Paige. I felt their pain and their love. I could *see* them in my head. I felt like I'd known people like them. David was a real character - meaning not "billionaire CEO" like so many other romance novels. He owned his own small business. He was flawed. But he was reality based. Paige was a survivor and conquered the unimaginable (heed the trigger warnings). Her path of healing was handled with care and was well developed. They were snarky and they teased each other in the best ways, but were so tender when they expressed their love. They were both heartbroken over each other, but in the end had to be apart for awhile to get to where they needed to be for each other, forever.

The only things I wish were different are more about my personal preferences and again, not about the story. I was surprised that Paige didn't have more trepidation about meeting Jacob. I felt like it would have taken her longer to accept him based on her past. Also, it wasn't until the second book that I had a clearer idea about what broke them up to begin with. That may have been intentional by the author though.

I very rarely write book reviews but this duet made such an impact on me I couldn't not write a review. To at the very least give appreciation for a job very well done to the author that I'm sure put her heart and soul into it. Give this duet a chance. It's long, but it's worth it. I'm very much looking forward to Jules' story (because she's a complete badass) and love the little bread crumbs the author left for us about it.

These type of stories are basically rage- bait. You literally feel like going in the story and choking the characters to death. I similarly viewed a story like this where the MMC and FMC were together broke up for some shitty reason, and offcourse why not - the FMC was celibate for 11 years while the MMC got together with the arch nemesis of FMC , he got her pregnant not once but twice. But still we should be happy because the MMC is divorced with the mother of his children. Even though he is supposedly having sex with others. Wow what a love!! I mean in both the cases I would personally like to slap the MMC and the FMC too for being a weakling and accepting the trash under your shoe. Like seriously no backbone??!! Why would writers write these type of pathetic stories, only to enrage the readers more. I know. Such a useless and pathetic story.
Like seriously the MMC pretty quickly moved on with that other woman bit***h and fucking balls of the dude - the audacity to name the kid with the name his ex wife and him decided , who she miscarried!!!!!!! Like dude!!!!!!!!
What the fuck is wrong with you??? You arsehole????!!!This was enough to strangle the MMC if he would have been really present before me. And that other woman Ashley when she pushed the FMC. After recovering atleast I would have slapped the other woman thrice and then slapped the pathetic piece of shit of her ex- husband and maybe castrate the dude or hit him in the nuts, he won't know which way to go. The absolute gall of the dude!!!!!!!! The first 4 chapters were enough to make me DNF this book to eternity.🙂👍🏻🫡 Why just?????? Why????? you female writers make women weak , spineless in stories. Making doormat heroines. Seriously!! Just making your gender only weak by writing these type of characters telling that women are spineless - you being a woman. I never understood this concept. Does writers don't like strong heroine?!! Seriously!!!!! Nevertheless never gonna read a book by this writer if she writes these type of female
characters. 🫡

This book is the second book of the duet. We now have David and Paige trying to get along as friends and David trying to help Paige finally be a complete woman. I enjoyed the story with the minor twists. I loved the banter between David, Paige, Jules and Evan. Although, I was really pulling for Jules and Evan to get together and I hope there is a book planned for them. Their discussions on 80’s music will be completely lost on the younger generation. I have to admit I was taken aback by the fact that this book had over 90 chapters, but many chapters were a page or two long. This book is a little slow moving at different points, the story was interesting and there was certainly some spice but it did seem just a little too long. I don’t mind a long book if there is lots of action but this book was very cerebral and many times I had to put the book down to process it. This book certainly made an impression on me and opened my eyes to things I didn’t know and was unaware of. I especially loved the character Lauren and hope that there are many Laurens around to help those that need the help. Great duet a must read.

The Moment We Know by D.E. Daniel is the author's second book in the Moments duet. First, let's discuss this new author's debut, The Moment You Know. I was so impressed with her writing that I couldn't wait to tell all my friends about it. D.E. Daniel's writing is fresh, exciting, well thought out, and executed. The story deals with some heavy issues about past abuse without being the victim; Paige Clemons is a strong, independent woman whose marriage failed but still loves and respects her ex-husband, David Lowe. When a recent event places them together, it sparks the feeling they still have for each other, but he's with another woman, Ashley, who has his child, a three-year-old little boy named Jacob David. The Moment We Know is not your typical second book of a duet; this one has a few surprises, lots of hilarious one-liners, tons of music references, and, mostly, hope. I recommend taking the time to download the story and read the duet; it's well worth the time and effort. It is one of the best duets I've read all year, and this is from a newbie!
I'm looking forward to reading more of D.E. Daniels's work.
