Reed and Carter Claymore were absolutely captivating. From their height to their perfect sapphire color eyes and adorable dimples, they were perfectly identical. Their looks are where their likeness stopped. They were totally opposite in personalities.
Reed was the sweet soft one that all the women at the club wanted. Reed was mine.
Carter was the bully, the mean one that all the women at the club avoided. Carter took what he wanted. Including me.
Singing at the Midnight Lounge was only supposed to be temporary. I quickly figured out I could never leave. I could never run. I could never hide. They would always find me.
A.C. Lynne was Tampa raised and storytelling bred.
A.C. writes the kind of romance that grabs you by the collar and doesn't let go. Her leading ladies are strong, sharp and impossible to forget. And the men? Alpha, obsessive and sometimes a little unhinged and always falling hard.
A.C. doesn't just write fiction- she spins truth into her books, pulling from real moments, messy emotions, and life's unexpected chaos. Her books range from sweet, swoony to dark, gritty with language your friends and family might not approve of.
If you love bold characters, addictive drama and that perfectly dangerous line between love and obsession, you just might have found your new favorite author
Just wow. Heartbreaking, romantic, tragic and so so good! The characters are captivating, the story sucks you in and the ending will leave you so completely heartbroken!
This book will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride! It's dark and tragic with no fairy tale happy ending but oh so worth the read.
Lyric, Reed and Carter are well written to the point the reader can put themselves in the story, if they so choose. Carter who I thought was irredeemable in the beginning actually showed that he was not by the end. I loved Lyric and the way she spoke through music and Reed understood it better than anyone.
I received this book as an advanced reader copy, I am providing this review voluntarily.
I rate this one a solid 4.5 stars! The twins that broke the fmc are the same ones who broke me. A.C. Lynne lured me in with her words and ensnared me with this story. I felt every high and every low. There were parts where I was filled with pure rage to the point where I wanted to reach in and break one of the characters. I felt pure outrage and utter helplessness. The absolute joy has you riding a high like no other and, when you think things are safe, you get blindsided with the biggest twist you won't see coming. I was literally sobbing and I couldn't put it down! In all fairness, A. C. Lynne warns us from the beginning that happy endings are for fairytales. If you want a spicy, mind f**k that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time, devour The Twins That Broke Me like I did. You wont regret it!
This was an emotional roller coaster for me. I was happy, sad and angry reading this book! I absolutely love Lyric and i absolutely hate the twins for her. Reed was the ok twin even tho he loved her deeply it just wasn’t enough for me, he pissed me off haha and Carter he can jump off a cliff! But my girl Lyric is a queen! She went through so much for these twins. And the ending took me out! It was so unexpected, I balled my eyes out I did not see that ending coming! Great read, great plot and the perfect amount of spice.
When the reviews called this book a Rollercoaster I think they meant the biggest longest fastest Rollercoaster! Honestly all the characters pissed me off in this book but in such broken ways. And the ending, reviews said it was heartbreaking so as I got closer and things were looking good I kept thinking what shoe was gonna drop. That wasnt a shoe. You dropped a building on us.
This book was perfect. It broke my heart, but I will happily read it again any day!
This was my first not so happy ending book, but it surely became one of my favourites. The author wrote this story so well that you fell like a part of this book. You felt all the emotions that the characters felt.
I couldn’t stop reading and I was so lucky to read this book as a Beta reader!
This book was nothing that I expected! Everything that I needed. But nothing that I expected. This is not your typical dark romance. This is a dark psychological thriller with a dark romance twist and oh my god the ending had me texting the author and yelling at her!!!!!! 😂😩😂😩 THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING! (So many trigger warnings though so check those before picking this up!) the storyline was perfect. The pacing was on point. I have now officially finished two of her, over 400 pages, books in 3 days and I need to go devour another one because this author is just simply amazing. So far the 3 books I have read by her have been nothing like any other books that I have read. They are all original and I love that about her and I love how well she can write such diverse genres! Seriously- read this book. Read all of her books.
This book was absolutely amazing! It evoked a range of emotions in me from start to finish. It left me eager for more and constantly intrigued. I was so engrossed that I couldn't stop reading. The ending was so heart-wrenching; I need more. It even brought tears to my eyes. I really liked this book. Remember to check for trigger warnings, but I wholeheartedly suggest reading this book! A.C. Lynne's writing style is fantastic!
Trope: workplace, bar/lounge, mafia, tragedy, secret relationship, found family
Tension: 3/5 the FMC is angsty, with good reason. She is stuck in an abusive work environment with limited recourse to escape. She has twin bosses, which brings in the good vs evil dynamic to the story.
Limited Spoilers
Lyric is in a secret relationship with her boss Reed. Reed’s twin Carter is abusive to the staff but especially Lyric bc she won’t engage in flirting with him. She keeps her relationship with Reed secret which ultimately puts her in worse and worse situations as Carter’s abuse escalates.
The story has good pace as it spans over the course of a few years. It gives the ins and outs of a toxic relationship and environments. This story is a tragedy, there is no happy ending. The characters are believable and the situations aren’t so outlandish you have to remind yourself it’s fiction.
It does contain violence both physical and gun as well as financial and emotional abuse.
The ending is devastating.

Wrecked by the ending! I enjoyed this story, the turmoil of our characters and they tried to navigate love, hate and everything in between. Lyric was a far better woman than I and despite everything that happened to her, like she said, she would always be allright... With that said, the ending wrecked me! I cried like a baby. Anytime an author can pull emotions out of me like that, it's a 5 star. Phenomenal job A.C. Lynne
WOW!! This was an emotional ride and never saw the ending coming. Crazy!! Every bad thing you can imagine happens to these characters. I absolutely loved the ride🥰 The music matched perfect to the book as well.
Omg. The emotions that I felt during this book is crazy. Like I was not only yelling and wanting to reach into the book and smack character I wanted to sob and cry with them to. I absolutely loved the writing style and the story of this book in all. I need more of A.C. Lynne's books in general I'm loving them all.
