As the new school year gets underway, Victor, Reeves, and Miri quickly find their new demonic familiar won’t be something they can get away from during school hours. Bound to their souls as he is, Alistair can never be more than a hundred feet away from one of them, which proves problematic given the school’s ban on familiars! The teens scramble for a solution before Ali becomes another victim of the school janitor’s ongoing mission to take out the demonic trash!
Now that Comixology has picked up Jordan Alsaqa’s fantasy comic-book series “Raise Hell!”, issue #2 of the series has finally materialized!
BFFS and protagonist Victor, Miri, and Reeves gear up for their first day of school after summer break... only problem? They don't know what to do with Alistair, the demon they summoned over the break and who is now bound to them! This issue explores the misadventures of the friends as they figure out how to transfigure Alistair, so that he can be with them at school.
The artwork is just as colorful and engaging as in the first issue, even if it’s a little rough on the edges. A bunch of new characters make their way in the comic and their character illustrations are vividly individualistic and different, so despite a number of new faces, it’s easy to keep track of them.
Overall, this was a fun follow up, which ends on a cheery note and doesn't end with a cliffhanger that will keep you waiting anxiously for the next issue. I like that.
