Clouded Judgement completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I started reading Shirley's story, I found myself emotionally invested in her journey. Watching a young girl cope with the loss of her parents, battle tuberculosis, and spend years in a sanatorium was heartbreaking, but what impressed me most was her determination to keep moving forward despite overwhelming circumstances. The author does an excellent job of showing both the physical and emotional toll of illness while also highlighting the importance of family support and hope. This is the kind of book that reminds you how resilient people can be even when life seems impossible. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy emotional historical fiction and inspiring personal journeys.

What makes the story particularly intriguing is its perspective from the afterlife, where Shirley is forced to watch the consequences of her choices unfold in her daughter's life. The novel appears to tackle difficult subjects with sensitivity while examining themes of family, forgiveness, and the search for peace.

I was drawn into Shirley's story from the very first chapters and remained invested throughout her journey. What struck me most was how realistically the author portrayed the emotional burden of long-term illness. Shirley's years spent in the sanatorium were not only physically challenging but emotionally exhausting, and the author captures that experience with remarkable sensitivity. Despite the setbacks, Shirley never completely loses sight of her dreams, whether it is returning home, building friendships, or creating a future for herself. This book is a powerful reminder that resilience is often built through the struggles we endure. I would gladly recommend it to readers who appreciate meaningful and emotionally rich historical fiction.

Sharon Elliott wrote an incredibly intense but ultimately comforting book that I couldn't put down. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book on Amazon; you won’t regret it! This book kept me hooked from the very first page to the final, satisfying chapter. The storytelling method—having Shirley narrate her own life and death alongside her daughter’s journey—was incredibly clever. It really makes you reflect deeply on life, family, and the paths we choose when things become unbearable. It’s hard to find historical fiction that feels this fresh while still delivering a timeless emotional punch. I highly recommend this incredible novel to anyone looking for a truly meaningful story.
