I thought Rogue Magic, Book 2 of R.J. Vicker's Underground Academy of Magic series, was even better than the first. The storyline is fast-paced and well-written, filled with magic and mayhem, adventure, intrigue and danger. The cast remains vast, but much easier to navigate with the greater degree of character development. I loved watching the personal growth of the main character, Tristain. The kids are in personal danger this time. They must not only learn to defend themselves, but must be capable of making offensive moves. Can they do it? Can they take lives, even if it means protecting their own? Ms. Vickers definitely raised the bar on this one. I can't wait to see if book 3 can match it!

Another Great Read
Wow. This series just gets better with each book. I love how the characters have grown into their talents. Book 2 moves along smoothly and kept me interested! I'm excited to read book 3!

A brilliant sequel!
I really liked book 1 and had to buy this book to see what happened next. I was not disappointed! This is a really interesting story, a real page Turner. I love this series and bought book 3 halfway through as I felt compelled to keep reading! I would highly recommend this book and this series. Although most of the main characters are young, and it's listed as a young adult series, I don't feel it is at all 'dumbed down'. There are very thought provoking issues with enough weight to make the reader wonder what they would do in that situation. Have to go ..... I have just started book 3! By the way, although I would loved to be classed as a young adult, I think that may be pushing it at 52!

This was a good continuation, but I felt it dragged a bit in the middle. Still not sure about the magic and premise... is killing off all of humanity are repopulating with magical beings really that much better than killing off large groups of humans? It doesn't seem to be much different... both are killing off people and being pretty clinical about it... perhaps that's what Vickers wants readers to think about.

Fantastic Book Series
After reading the first book in this series I just had to read the remaining books. I gave Rogue Magic five stars. The story telling is original, entertaining and fast paced. Any one who enjoyed Harry Potter should like this series.

Oh wow! That was quite a roller coaster ride! The school year starts with a bang followed by betrayal and mortal peril that puts the teachers as well as the students in danger. Tristan and Amber must find it within them to do what needs to be done to save their teachers and fellow students! I was so disappointed when the book ended...I didn't want it to because the next book isn't out yet. Please hurry and finish it!

This was a great sequel!! there were great development of the main characters. I was wonderfully intrigued by the magic and the mystery and I can't wait for the next book in the series. As it is I am reading both books in the series to tide me over. the book was awesome.

A fun series to read. This is not a series to become bogged down in. It is truly a young adult genre.
