The Fate Of Us :

Rate this book
Adaline Moore never wanted this life; the lights, the sets, the velvet carpets. She knew this wasn’t what she was made for. But what does a girl who has grown up in the shadow of the Hollywood sign do? She remains there, in the easy comfort she’s built up for herself since she was six.

But after too many years of ignoring her true desire to write stories about braver girls than her, she’s ready to change.

And if there were ever a sign to say goodbye to the cameras, surely being cast alongside her childhood sweetheart, the one she’d cry to after a never-ending day of auditions, who left for college and forgot all about her, was the final one.

When people hear the name ‘Nate Patricks’ their minds are filled with golden smiles, a boy too charming for his own good, and the embodiment of a movie heartthrob. And while he is the leading man of the silver screen, in real life he isn’t nearly as outgoing, with his anxiety taking the reins and controlling the parts of his life that aren’t documented for the world to see.

There was always one person who made his anxiety fade, though. A certain auburn-haired firefly that he called his best friend. The one he loved before he knew what love was all about. But after she betrayed him with the one person she swore they hated? Nate was suddenly without her, without Adaline; the girl who made all his hurt float away.

And now… she was starring opposite him in the biggest book adaptation to grace movie-theatre screens.

Pretending to fall in love with a stranger was one thing… but pretending to be in love with the person who knew your heart and soul the same way you did was a pair of already broken hearts waiting to flatline.

The Fate Of Us is Book Two in The Probability a series of interconnected, standalone romance novels.

This was such a cute story about two beautiful people just trying to get by in life and find their way through the challenges that have been thrown at them. Nate and addy are so meant to be together and I absolutely loved reading about each of their pasts and what they are like. Also Goldie was definitely my favorite. Good summer read!

“We were written in the stars before the constellations were even charted. I'd always known that.
There was a cosmic string, made of starlight, that had tied us together before either of us could imag-ine. It was too complex to understand, too ancient and magical for our tiny brains to comprehend. But I didn't mind. I didn't care if I never knew why we were meant to be... so long as we were.”

I read this split over a couple if day I was on vacation in Germany/Croatia.

Forst of all let us all appreciate this dedication ♡

“To all the girls who are still learning how to stop pleasing everyone, you'll get there. It takes time, but one day you'll realise that your heart and happiness are worth so much more than other people's.
Until then, live vicariously through Adaline Moore.
She belongs to you.”

It was different from what I expected this book to give, but I think it was just the right time I read it aswell, luckily.
I thought it was going to be a silly romance novel, ngl.. But it was so much more than that. It gave me all kind of different emotions. Also brought many different memories I hold in mind back.
How Nate struggled with his anxiety, but also his anxiety making him
overthink so far, that it actually ruins and waste so much of time.

“I hate that my anxiety doesn't run on the same schedule as me. How it can pounce on me at any time it pleases, without any sort of warning.”

I clearly remember reading his therapy description part and it was just around the time I got to know my therapist of a couple of years will stop with autistic patients. First I didn’t really like going to therapy and was always looking bad towards it, but after I always felt so relieved to talk to someone who actually understands the human mind of a person with a different brain. So when I got to hear she would stop, I was happy, but then a couple of days later cried in my bed about it. Probably because I know her longer than I know other people outside my family. I hate saying goodbye with something, where I don’t have the power to change it.

Anyway, let’s get back to the actual book now.
I really do not enjoy reading miscommunication tropes, but this one was actually caused by something real. And I know it was a stupid mistake, but people who overthink a lot tend to think way too far about certain things, and obviously give up before someone else can REALLY hurt them.
7 years, sounds like a lot of time but for some it feels like yesterday, even if the other person is already moving forward. I am not saying Adaline aka Addy did that, but you could clearly tell that Nate was more stuck in the past.
How he still held on to that polaroid, and even was still working onto Addy her books. Let’s not forget about her still being saved as ‘Firefly’ in his contacts.

"Wherever you are is where I want to exist to,”

I will try to yap less so the rest of this review will be super fast sorry but not sorry😀.
We are gonna dive into Addy her life more now. Her parents were obviously in the deep wrong sea. I am so happy how they kinda got character development after reading her books, and TRULY knowing her passion for life. But we can’t forget that easily about what they did before to not only Addy but also her younger sister Goldie.
I hate when it most of the time takes something big or dramatic for parents or other people in control to REALLY listen to what you have been saying for forever. But I am glad they atleast did listen at the end, because I know not everyone is that considering.
This one sentence the mother said fr healed something in me;

“I'd rather be written by you, I think."

Adaline writing from such a young age to write her feelings away, is something I wished I did as a child. Sadly I was really bad with words, but when I now do it in my notes and not rent to others I feel so ‘free’ in a way. So everything Addy said about writing and feelings is definitely true.
So glad she is getting her writing career now ♡. I am fr happy for her ngl.

“Journaling was an essential part of my routine, no matter where I was. If I didn't spill every word that was cycling around my head onto the lined paper in front of me, they'd stay up there all day, and I wouldn't focus on anything else.”

We LOVE Eleanor, lol that’s all I have to say but she was fr a girlboss Idc.
Asher definitely grew up better aswell. As a child he was pretty shitty ngl, but Ig every teenage boy goes through a mean kinda phase.. I am glad he grew up more adulty and actually didn’t stood in the way for the main characters to find their love again.
I do feel there is a deeper story to Amber aswell, Idk if the author is also gonna dive into a book for her tho.

Before I go, I must say that many can probably relate to the part of being to scared to say no to your parents, because of them having taken time to fix an opportunity for you. Same for the birthday part with Nate. I really HATE my birthday because of the attention, so I was so happy that I am not alone, and that this author looked inside my mind and wrote Nate in the place to put it into words.

I am also hoping to find my ‘accidental cure’ aka my comfort significant other person in my life soon.

“Like the day I met her--the first time in my life I was talking to a stranger who didn't make me want to run and hide away. My accidental cure.”

QUOTES;
“What did I do right to get a chance to exist in the same moment as her? That surely fate wouldn't; it couldn't be that kind."

"You know... when we were apart, I always used to think about how we could be on separate corners of the earth, live completely different lives and yet, we'd still belong to each other.
My heart would always be yours to break and hold and do whatever you wished. It has been yours, for longer than either of us could probably imagine.”

“But dams don't give you any warning before they burst and flood the nearby villages, and I suppose not letting myself think about what happened, the years wasted, that it all just overflowed, and spilled out.”

Okay, this book was SO cute - and as an indie author myself, it was such an honour being a part of the review team before its release, and if Holly would ever like to send me book one, I would absolutely eat it up. I don't know if she's announced who book three is going to be about, but... I need a Goldie story, or maybe an Amber story (but preferably Goldie)!

This book was such wonderful escapism, especially from this horrible, glum English weather. I was worried going into the book that Holly would struggle with building the scene and atmosphere, being a Manchester girlie and not from New York or LA, but it actually felt so perfect, and I loved the little details which made the book come to life. I enjoyed both characters, though I would have appreciated them more if their flaws and mistakes were explored a little further to make them seem more real!

There were so many things I enjoyed about this book... I loved the setting, the side characters, the atmosphere and more. Maybe my favourite thing about Holly's writing is her clear passion and adoration for romance books and their tropes, and for her worlds. The book felt fluffy and a little cliche, but I think that was the point! I was enjoying the fantasy of it all... Adaline's author career, the childhood friends to lovers, rich lifestyle and more without thinking it to be overly realistic.

I think the only criticism I have is of the general publishing process - I too, as an indie author, can't afford an editor, but I think maybe Holly would benefit from having beta readers (some would happily do this for free!) - I know it's something I'm certainly looking into. There were a few scenes which felt redundant and other potential storylines I felt disappeared halfway through the book, as well as tense issues, and those are things a beta reader could point out before the book comes to its publication date!

All in all, I really loved reading this book, and I'll definitely be recommending it to my own readers. If you enjoy books which feel like a separation from the mundanity of real life, I would absolutely check this out!

Words cannot explain how cute the story was!! The story made me so emotional reading about Nate and Addy's relationship. From the first time they met, to confessing their love, to their breakup, and reuniting again; my heart couldn't handle all the feelings. The joy of falling in love with your best friend to betrayal and confusion and wanting more. Reading was a roller coaster of emotions and I would t have wanted it any other way.

Nate and Addy are the definition of soulmates. No matter what obstacles were thrown at them, they still found each other and their love never diminished. And seeing them navigate through life, individually and together, was beautiful. Addy learns to be selfish and chase the life she wants. Nate learns to trust others and accept. I really loved seeing Nate's healing journey. Seeing him go through therapy and open up made me tear up. Everything about this story made me feel seen, especially the dedication. Holly Jukes writing is so beautiful and romantic, and sets the tone perfectly for Nate and Addy's story.

ARC Review

Even with all of the tension and questions about Nate & Addy’s past, this was still such a feel good book for me! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for the first book and was immediately intrigued by Nate & Addy so I was so happy to finally get all the details on their story. I don’t wanna share too much before release day but this book will definitely make your heart happy 🤭

Thank you so much to love notes PR and the author for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Heart - wrenching, beautiful and thought provoking, the Fate of Us is a gorgeous story about family, friendship and building back bridges stronger than ever.

The Fate of Us follows Nate and Adeline - two rising actors who were once childhood sweethearts. After having a fall out in their earlier years, they reunite on a set of a new movie based on a book. Will sparks fly on set? Or will they crumble under the pressure and cut each other off for good?

I saw so much of myself in Adeline, especially down the road of people pleasing. Reading her development through the book of becoming more confident in what she wants and showing people the real her, really resonated with me. It was such a great thing to read as she developed into a more secure and more self positive person.

I also saw quite a lot of myself in Nate - the MMC - and enjoyed his points of view too. The representation through him of anxiety really resonated with myself.

There is a lot of miscommunication in this, I will say - especially on Nate’s part. And there have been moments where I just wanted them both to rip the band aid off and talk to each other! I had a mind to shake them both and bash their heads together and tell them to have a conversation! That’s all they needed! A cathartic talk that would get everything out there…

This book also touches on child acting - a topic I’ve always been interested in - and really enjoyed another point of view about it. It showed that sometimes parents project their wishes onto their children - making it more about themselves than their child. I really enjoyed reading it and reading about Adeline pushing herself out of that box.

I have to admit, I adored Flo and Jacob so much that I will have to read their book because I’m already in love with them! They’re just perfect!

If you love childhood friends to lovers to enemies to lovers, this is for you! The drama and the tension between these two were just written amazingly!

—thank you to author holly jukes and love notes pr for this e-arc.
the fate of us was such a cute story between nate and addy as childhood friends/lovers. reading the first book made me love these two characters and i wanted to know more about their story. i do think this book was so cute and had suchhhh cute moments. not only that but it’s well written the writing is so good and so beautiful. i was absolutely obsessed with that aspect of this book. i’m usually not a fan of books with actor main characters or anything in that realm but author holly jukes just kills it, making it enjoyable. diving into more of addy’s story of how she came to be a well and one of the best known actress in the film industry and how she made it. it just shows how maybe most actors who started as child actors did not take part into choosing such for themselves. which happens a lot in the industry and shows light of such that happens. eventually leading to a reconciliation between her and her family, seeing them heal their family. now nate i truly don’t remember much about him while reading and that could be because i’ve been in a bit of a reading slump. the only things i do recall is him being wound up about what happened between him and addy. aswell as some mentions of his anxiety. i wish i did get more of nate and who he is as a whole. i think we got more of who addy was than nate. we also were introduced to a new character goldie, addy’s sister, who was in the same position as addy but got resolved later. i did enjoy some parts of the book but i felt like there was some sort of disconnect for me and like i said it could have been in a minor slump. i do think this book could have been shorter, it didn’t need to be so long as it was. taking all this in to account my rating is a 3.5 stars. it wasn’t bad at all a 3 is still a good book in my eyes but it’s not quite a 4 stars. i would absolutely love to read more of this authors works and can’t wait for the next

First things first: I'd like to thank the author and the PR agency for the ARC.

This book revolves around two main characters: Nate and Addy, both are established actors in Hollywood. Addy was a child artist and now in her mid-twenties she's a full blown actress. Nate is also an A-Lister.

They both were childhood sweethearts but due to some misunderstanding they both fell apart when they were 18 or 19 something. Now 7 years later they are both standing in front of each other for a project in which they have to play each other's love interest. The irony isn't lost on them.

Since it's an ARC I won't be giving any spoilers but all I could say is that you'd have to read the book to know how they navigated through that patch in their lives. Although there were so many childhood memories and the book went through a lot of back and forth, I find it a slow read to be honest and NO it wasn't for me, some of you may love it I'm sure but it wasn't my style.

Honestly the book was a bit stretched, it could have ended in less pages than it actually took. The book gives summer vibes, dual pov, it's a second chance romance, mental health rep and kind of childhood sweethearts-lovers-enemies-lovers again.

The book is yet to be released on June 14th, do grab your copies to know what went wrong with Nate and Addy and how they survived it.

PS: the book does deal with MMC having anxiety issues, so read it at your discretion.

*Received this book as an ARC from Love Notes PR**

"Somehow, I think I’d always known his name was etched on my heart in the right way, the way all true loves are."

How do you start writing a review for a book that just shook your soul?

I knew after finishing The Likelihood of You that I needed to know Nate and Addy's story - and I was utterly swept up.

Nate and Addy were best friends since they were 12, barely leaving each other's side except when Addy had to go away to shoot a movie.

Nate, with his green eyes was always her soft spot, her home. And to Nate, this wildfire of a girl with her beautiful, calming smile and kind soul, was his refuge. The one person he feels he can utterly be himself around, just as she could around him.

But a year after he left for college, heartbroken, angry and confused, Nate never shows up for the meeting at the pier they promised to meet each other at.

A few years later, with still no explanation and no contact with the boy she thought she would love forever, they meet again, only to play lovers in an upcoming new movie.

I honestly cannot explain how much I love this book. Starting off as best friends, to enemies to lovers, with Adeline as a strong FMC who is unquestionably good at what she does and then some.
Then there's sweet and quiet Nate, a man who is not afraid to show and feel emotions, despite his constant fight with anxiety.

The angst, the longing, the love - I'm here for all of it.

This is Book 2 of the Probability Series.

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

The Fate of Us is an emotionally rich and beautifully written novel that captures the complexities of love, friendship, and personal growth. The characters are well-developed and relatable, drawing readers into their world with authenticity and depth.

Adaline Moore is a compelling protagonist, torn between the life she’s known and her desire to pursue her true passion. Her journey of self-discovery and courage to change is inspiring and relatable. Nate Patricks, with his public persona contrasting sharply with his private struggles, adds depth to the narrative. His anxiety and the way he navigates his feelings for Adaline are portrayed with sensitivity and realism.

The chemistry between Adaline and Nate is palpable, with their history adding layers of tension and unresolved emotion. Their interactions are charged with a mix of nostalgia, hurt, and longing, making their romance both poignant and compelling. The transition from estranged friends to on-screen lovers forced to confront their past is executed with finesse, keeping readers engaged throughout.

Jukes’ writing is evocative, capturing the glitz and glamour of Hollywood while delving into the characters’ inner turmoil and personal growth. The setting serves as a vibrant backdrop that enhances the story without overshadowing the characters’ emotional journeys.

The Fate of Us is a touching and emotionally resonant romance that blends Hollywood glamour with heartfelt storytelling. Holly Jukes has crafted a narrative that is both entertaining and deeply moving, with characters that stay with you long after the final page.

My heart is so full right now! I haven’t read a romance book that I loved to this extent in a while. Holly Jukes’s writing pulled me in from the beginning and kept me wanting more until the very last page, and even after. I got completely lost in the story and Holly’s words (I would seriously read her grocery list if I could). She truly has a gift with words and has become one of my new favorite authors.

I absolutely loved all the characters in this story as well, especially Addy! I honestly related to her so much. It’s such a special experience when you find a character that you see so much of yourself in. And Nate completely stole my heart with his sweet, charming nature. I also really liked the sisterly bond that was shown between Addy and her little sister Goldie. And we can’t forget Flo and Jacob. I loved getting to see the wonderful friendship between Flo, Jacob, Addy, and Nate. Their little found family is adorable.

The Fate of Us is such a beautiful story about first love, heartbreak, and second chances. Thank you so much Holly Jukes and Love Notes PR for this arc! I’m so happy I was able to read this amazing story🤍

Holly Jukes takes the reader on a dual POV journey, filled with many emotional flashbacks, between the two main characters: Adaline and Nate.
•••••••
Addy and Nate, A-list Hollywood actors, have known one another since childhood. They are now working very close with one another on the set of a big movie. With their history comes a tangled web of heartbreak, anger, trust, and love. Much of this is due to Asher, a fellow child-star like Addie and someone she is able to connect with but someone Nate doesn’t trust. Addy, Nate, and Asher must come together to film a “childhood friends to lovers” movie that reflects their past all too well.
•••••••
This novel had great mental health awareness for both main characters! The plot draws the reader in with dual POV’s, drama filled flashbacks, and swoon worth scenes. However, this didn’t feel like enough for it to be an overall home run. The miscommunication trope felt a tad bit overdone, with too much repetition.
There were glimpses here and there of a fantastic plot with great chemistry and banter between the MC’s and supporting character…but sometimes it just fell a little flat. I really wanted to love this more!

Did i finish a majority of this book in one night? Yes i did! I love the way Holly writes all of her characters. The complexity and sincerity of the main characters is impeccable! I was looking forward to Addy and Nate’s story and it did not disappoint whatsoever!!!! Childhood friends-lovers-enemies-lovers!! are you joking me??? i need more like this please.

i loved how Addy could be there for her little sister, because as an older sister and a little sister myself, i feel scene from both sides. I love my sisters but there are times where i feel too sheltered from the world and want to actually be seen.

Did i want to punch Nate for that bs, yes, but i got my happy ending in the end so fair trade. It didn’t help with my emotions how perfect the playlist was. I made an entire pinterest board and apple music playlist for both of these books!

I will be raving to anyone who will listen about this series! I am in love with this series and cannot wait for the next!!!

Thank you Holly Jukes and lovenotes.pr for this amazing arc🫶🏼🫶🏼

This was a non spicy romance of two best friends turned lovers who unexpectedly broke up and haven’t seen each other in years. Now they hate each other for the other breaking their heart. Adeline is a major movie star who has been in business since she was 6. She absolutely hates being an actress and just hasn’t found the nerve to quit yet. Years later she gets the leading role for a movie based on one of her favorite books and can’t say no. Turns out her love interest costar is Nate her old best friend/boyfriend she’s loved her whole life. No it’s time for the enemies to become lovers. Let’s just say this book had a long long long road for these two to go through to find out what really happened all those years ago. I truly enjoyed this book. But i did wish they would have overcome their issues a little sooner. Other than that it was very enjoyable.

The book with the sloowesst burn but oh so satisfying in the end.

It was so easy to fall in love with Addy. I love her. I love who she is- forced to do something she doesn’t really love, a secret writer, introvert and fiery!

The book was beautifully written. It really deep dives into the internal emotions between the 2 characters to narrate the conflict.

If you love these tropes, you will love this book.

- friends to lovers to enemies to lovers
- miscommunication
- he falls first
- movie star love

First of all, this book was just so cute! I absolutely loved the setting and the character developments.

This romance is very slow burn but totally worth it, it takes Adaline and Nate a lot of time to finally figure what actually happened in the past and to get back together. Seeing them overcome their issues and find their love for each other back was so magical.

If you’re looking for a soft, non spicy and extraordinary second chance romance this one is definitely for you.

This book is so well written, it hit me right in the heart and bought tears to my eyes.
Such a beautiful piece of work!
I don’t think I would have been this okay with certain aspects if it were any other book. The author wrote in a way that made me accept every negative part of the storyline.

Though I do think the conflict could have easily been resolved sooner, I’m happy with the way everything ended.

its not often i enjoy a second-chance romance but this book was irresistible! Addy and Nate were beautifully written and felt so real and relatable. The way Nate’s anxiety was represented was so well done, which made me feel so much more connected to his character.

Also, the aesthetic of this book makes it a lovely spring/summer read!

TFOU is a slow burning, no smut, ADORABLE book in the probability series. It genuinely made me smile so much throughout, and it was so nice to see Nate and Addy’s character development throughout the book. The flashbacks to their past made it even more poignant and you better buckle up for the happy ending because even though at times it feels like it’ll never happen, it’s truly worth the wait!!! I love the way Holly writes, and her books are so wholesome! I’d definitely read book 1 just for the scene setting🫶🏼

The slow burn was slow burning
Full rtc.

I just read this book sometime back and I DON’T KNOW WAHT TO SAYY. It was so good. I loved the story and the glimpses of Jacob & Flo.

I was really looking forward to read this book after seeing Addy’s name saved as Firefly in Nate’s phone in TLOY. The slow burn was slow burn-ing in this book. The anxiety rep was also so strong.

Nate Patricks. This man. This swoony- swoony man who does sweet things like make actual copies of books his childhood friend has written and then do stupid things like keep a misunderstood polaroid of *something* and keep looking at it again and again. I loved his character. He was so nice and thoughtful, when he wasn’t reminded of the polaroid.

Adaline Moore. An actress, who doesn’t like acting but has a flare for dramatics ✨. She was such a calming character. I loved her routine. She was so kind and I loved her relationship with her sister. Even though she was introduced to fame early on, she was still down to earth and had good relations with other people. The fact that she still pursued her dream of being an author, even though it was done secretly, I’m glad she didn’t give up writing.

Also I love how there wasn’t a lot of unnecessary drama in either of the books.

I would’ve loved to read more interactions between the MCs & other characters. Looking forward to seeing their cameos in the Liberty Grove series! I’m also so glad that I know who Goldie is and I’m so excited for her book!!

ONE OF MY MOST FAVE SCENES EVER.

the fate of us by holly jukes (ARC) review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

thankyou to love notes pr and the author for the opportunity to receive this ARC. Here are my honest thoughts.

💌

if there’s one thing about me, it’s that i love a good childhood friends to lovers story and the fate of us, hit every mark i look for in a well written version of this trope. Nate and Addy’s story was handled with such love and care, it would’ve been impossible for me to not fall in love with them. i couldn’t put this book down, not even for a second.

i found myself in both nate and addy. nate through navigating his life with anxiety and panic attacks and through addy with the heaviness of being the eldest daughter and carrying the responsibility’s that being a big sister include.

during some parts, it truly felt like holly jukes had read my journal, scanned it for all my truest, hidden feelings and thoughts. a chapter she wrote in this book rang so true

“it’s was almost as if the author had secret cameras hidden around my apartment, had hired private investigators to track my every move, capture every word that left my mouth, steal my personality and publish it for millions to get lost in”

it’s rare i feel that closely represented in a book, rare for my own experiences to be that closely written. Both these characters stole my heart as did all the other characters that they are surrounded by. this was one of my most anticipated reads after adoring the likelihood of you by this author and i can say without a single doubt it surpassed every high expectation i had.

the development of their relationship & the development of their own sense of self was so well done and the portrayal of love and friendship is always in safe, loving hands when holly jukes is typing away. i truly can’t wait to read more from this author!

if you love childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance, angst, enemies to lovers with absolute peak romance sprinkled all throughout, you’re going to eat this one up!

addy and nate i’ll be thinking of you forever <3

The Fate Of Us by Holly Jukes is a heartfelt journey of love, betrayal, and self-discovery. The story follows Adaline Moore, a girl who has grown up in the glitz and glam of Hollywood but longs for a simpler life away from the spotlight. Adaline's dream is to write stories about brave girls, but she remains stuck in her acting career, finding comfort in the familiar. Her resolve to change her life is tested when she is cast in a movie alongside her childhood sweetheart, Nate Patricks, the one who got away.

Nate Patricks, the charming golden boy of Hollywood, is not as confident as he appears on screen. Behind his dazzling smile lies a young man battling anxiety. Nate's life was once made brighter by Adaline, his best friend and first love, but their relationship was shattered by betrayal. Now, years later, they are thrust back together as co-stars in a major film adaptation, forcing them to confront their past and the unresolved feelings between them.

The book beautifully explores the trope of childhood best friends to lovers to enemies to lovers. Adaline and Nate's journey is filled with emotional highs and lows, making their eventual reconciliation all the more satisfying. While the miscommunication trope drives their conflict, it also adds depth to their story, highlighting the pain of lost friendship and the joy of rediscovery.

Holly Jukes's writing captures the tension and sweetness between the characters, even without explicit scenes. The story's emotional weight and the characters' growth keep readers engaged, making The Fate Of Us a moving and memorable read. Though some readers might find the miscommunication frustrating, the overall narrative and the heartfelt resolution make it worthwhile.

Overall, The Fate Of Us is a touching romance that will resonate with anyone who loves stories of love, loss, and second chances. Holly Jukes has crafted a captivating tale that reminds us that sometimes, the path to true love is filled with twists and turns, but it's the journey that makes it all worthwhile.

this book was pretty good.
it was emotional, sweet and pretty cute.
there is not really spice in it, but i didn’t mind it.
i think that holly wrote a pretty good storyline with some deep characters.
and i really liked that.

it took me a bit to get into the book and to convince myself to read it at the start, that’s probably why it took me 5 days to read this 🫣
but the deeper i got into the book, the more i liked it.
there were some things that made it hard to continue to book at the start. i think i‘m not the biggest fan of like books where there are like thing that don’t get cleared right at the start 😭
but it’s really good when like everything gets cleared.
overall the story between two celebrities were really good, and it was very sweet.

nate was really sweet and carrying.
he is also like an emotional guy but i loved it, i really did.
i loved how he was there for addy even though he „hated“ her.
you could read how he never got over her and never will and how he still loves her a lot.
i really liked reading in his pov, it was interesting and really emotional.

addy was so sweet.
i loved her relationship with her sister, it was really cute and refreshing to read.
i hate hate her parents so much. they annoy me so much.
what i really liked was how relatable she was written
and how you could what she felt.

this book was really good, and if you loved her first book, you might like this as well, even though it’s not as spice. but in this book the spice wasn’t even needed.

Nate Patricks and Adaline (Addy) Moore are two of the biggest movie stars of the moment. And while they may have been childhood friends, they've been on the outs for the last 8 years. But now they'll be starring opposite each other in a story about childhood friends-to-lovers. And neither of them knows if they really can do it.

I absolutely ADORED this story of self-discovery, self-actualisation, and love... So much of both Nate and Addy's journey through this story touched so much of my heart. Their emotions and desires struck me quite deeply. I truly loved how their fears, desires and emotions were expressed. And I loved how Addy was able to reach a point where she could change the direction of her life to truly strive to fulfill her dreams. I also truly resonated with Nate in his discoveries of how he allowed his fears to cloud so much of his life. It was fabulous to watch as he was finally able to acknowledge this and to take steps to move forward from this as well.

I loved how Nate and Abby helped Goldie stand up for herself. And while Abby's parents took a LONG time to discover their faults, I appreciated how they were able to realise their faults, and set things to rights as quickly as possible.

I will definitely be re-reading this book in the future, because there is so much one can take from this book and apply to reality. Truly remarkable.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
