What a weird way to end a book series. Nothing resolved, huge swing in plot, 90% of the book is characters talking or thinking, and precious little in the way of anything happening. A lot of build up for nothing. One page of naughty stuff in the entire ‘harem’ book. I’m quite disappointed with this entry
Great continuation of AnimeCon Harem Note that this is Book 3. Definitely for sure read Book 1 first, then Book 2; they MUST be read FIRST in sequence. There is just too much backstory for Book 3 to be stand-alone. The writing is intense, descriptions bring the scenes to life and the dialog is extremely well done with each character having a distinctly different personality, vocabulary, and speech pattern. Book 3 continues the incredible tale of Brian, Stephanie, Kelly, Emily, Rebecca, Megan, and the crazy Chloe. The harem charm magic becomes stronger and more seriously weird side-effects are manifest. The group continues to form even stronger bonds. Chloe’s psychotic break is not to be missed, with Kelly adding to the fire with her cutting remarks, and then gentle, shy Stepanie throwing a wipeout punch. The story takes a very dark turn as Chloe tries to ruin Brian’s reputation and kill his spirit. The story ends on a very dark note and is continued in ‘Renfair Fantasy’ available as a subscription in Patreon. You also get access to ‘Trailer Trash’, though I have not started it.
Took two and a half books to get interesting and something resembling a story. It finally did and I was like ok, there’s an overarching world here… finally! Oh wait, it was only for a few chapters then back to your regularly scheduled teenage angst crap.
Oh, Chloe, Christine, or whatever her name is finally got over her psychosis and realized she is an awful person, yay! Oh wait, her psychosis was cured, but now she’s a vampire; her vampire was cured but now she’s threatening to turn them over to rapist slavers again….. seriously this is just awful.
There’s absolutely no catharsis in this series. There is nothing but constant ragebait bs. This entire series feels like it was written by Reddit trolls studying for a degree is psychology.
I really tried, read all 3 books to see, but this is honestly the worst series I have ever read in my life to date.
This is a very very good series. The depth of character study and the realism involved in creating a harem in a magical setting is downright astounding. All that said the book ends before the story ends leaving a very dissatisfactory ending. Is a series as a whole worth the read, absolutely. Just be aware that the final book Komis going to end without an ending. It would be wonderful if the series had a continuation. More books would make this a five star instead of a two star rating.
This series is SO not your male-oriented story. Where much harem literature is geared to the male character's satisfaction and the women are adjunct sex objects, this series has an actual storyline, although I felt like much of book 1 was too much background, it was necessary. Also, as I mentioned, the spice is more driven from the women's viewpoints, which I find refreshing. Come on, Mr/Ms Author, give me more!!!!
Not sure if I was just tired of the whole harem thing or what not but I skipped ahead several times in the audio book. I did listen to all three books straight through and sometimes I get overloaded on some authors books or even some TV shows when I try to binge them. I still found many parts very enjoyable and entertaining and I listened to the last 4 or 5 hours completely through. So I still gave it a 5 star review and think it is probably 4.5 stars.
Okay, got a little weird in this book and this cliffhanger ending sucks big time. The site states that this is 3 of 3 and if there isn’t a fourth I will be seriously pissed. Dialogue has gotten tedious with repetition and it spoils a lot of the book. I still gave it 4 stars, but if this is the last book, I’m going to have to rethink my ratings.
