If you’ve found your soulmate, the only other thing you need is the right timing.
In Rhys Pierce’s case, time wasn’t on his side. In an effort to protect his family, Rhys made a decision that would take a year from his life. He was due to turn himself into Chaney State Penitentiary in just a week and a day. Rhys had made peace with his fate, but when Dream Baldwin walked back into his life, possibilities of what could be consumed him. She consumed him.
The years they spent apart had been kind to Dream, and he had evolved into precisely the woman Rhys knew he needed, but… who was he to ask her to wait for him? Would she even want to?
Dream was in grind mode. After putting her trust and finances in the wrong man’s hands, she was left with almost nothing. She still had her family. She still had home, and moving back in with her parents to start over sounded better than settling for half a man. Vowing to focus only on herself and business, Dream had tunnel vision… until she saw him. It had been six years since they shared space, but he was still the man her heart wanted. Refusing to believe it was just a coincidence, Dream made her feelings clear without hesitation. She felt like this was the love she had waited a lifetime for, but would forces outside their control leave her disappointed? Only time would tell.
I loved this friends to lovers story. There’s something about coming to the realization that the person you’ve been crushing on since childhood harbors the same feelings. For Rhys and Dream, life threw a quick curveball but their love was stronger. I enjoyed this one and wish it was longer.
What a beautiful, and heartfelt story! Rhys and Dream reuniting was perfection in the making, but the timing was off. Rhys struggled with what to do with the opportunity presented to him, to finally get to act on his love for Dream. He knew what he had to do in just a few days, but he needed to show her how much he loved her, before that time came. I can't be selfish and ask her to wait for me, right?
Dream couldn't believe her luck. Going out alone for her birthday, and landing in the bar of her childhood crush. What are the odds? She had to seize this moment, as they are both grown now. She has loved Rhys since she was eight years old, and it is time now to make some of those dreams come true. When she learns of the issue that was holding Rhys back, she was sad, but was ready to hold him down; no questions asked. Although it was short read, it gave all the feels. Really enjoyed it.
THIS WAS MY FIRST READ BY THIS AUTHOR AND I’LL MOST DEFINITELY BE CHECKING OUT HER CATALOG. THIS WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS TO LOVERS NOVELLA 🥰
RIZZY & DREAM HAS BEEN BERRIES SINCE THEY WERE KIDS, BUT LIFE TOOK THEM IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. AFTER THE LOSS OF GET DREAM JOB AND HEARTBREAK DREAM FINDS HERSELF BACK HOME WHERE SHE HASN’T BEEN IN SIX YEARS. THE MOMENT THESE TWO LAY EYES ON EACH OTHER EVERY FEELING, EMOTION, ETC ARE AT THE FOREFRONT. IT’S LIKE NO TIME HAS PASSED. RIZZY FINA HIMSELF HAVING TO BREAK HER HEART AGAIN WITH THE NEWS OF HIM LEAVING. SIS WASN’T PLAYING ABOUT HER MAN AND VOWED TO STILL BE THERE WHEN HE GETS HOME.
THEIR LOVE AND CHEMISTRY COULD BE FELT THROUGH THE PAGES AND I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT FROM START TO FINISH 🥰
This novella was a delightful book to read. I'm a true fan of the friends to lovers trope and this story with Rhys and Dream certainly fit the bill. Rhys and Dream grew up as neighbors but lost touch. I was glad that when they reunited, they were grown and could act on the feelings that were always there for both of them. I loved their vibe and the way that Dream supported Rhys during his difficult situation. What started out as a nightmare for Rhys, Dream was able to turn it into something for him to look forward to. Another great book by this author!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed the dynamic fast paced friends-to-lovers romance. Rhys displayed remarkable devotion as a brother by assuming responsibility for the firearm charge on behalf of his younger brother, Trevor. I hoped to see Trevor show greater gratitude towards Rhys for this selfless act. Dream harbored deep affection for Rhys, feelings that had been present since her childhood. Upon Rhys reciprocating her feelings and demonstrating love, she wholeheartedly embraced the relationship. Also, the support Dreamed provided Rhys was incredibly heartwarming.
True love will always win, I ate this bookup!!!! So as the description tells Rhys has about 2 weeks before he’s due to turn himself in for something that wasn’t his fault. As he’s starting to come to terms with his sentencing approaching, in walks Dream his childhood crush. Dream lets it be known she wants this man, and that she’s wanted him since they were kids. Now Rhys does have a hard time admitting to Dream that he’s due to be incarcerate for a year, which causes him to make a dumb decision. luckily he manned up, and as suspected Dream stuck with him. Desperately need a part two to this love story.

I enjoy reading this book so much. Neighbors, friends to lovers. This book was beautifully written. I found myself cheering for these two lovers. Rhys and Dream even I fell in love with them being together. I would say this is a must-read book. It was an absolute pleasure reading your book 🥰.
A wonderful short story about true love that spans over several years The author wrote a story of two people who knew each other most of their lives coming full circle after years apart to find their soulmate A drama free story full of family, sacrifice, friendship and love Great job Jaime’s your stories always bring me joy and are very special
I loved this and I’m so happy they found each other again ,, I wish dream would’ve ran into her ex just so he can see her happiness lol sorry I’m petty like that ..would love to see these characters again 🔥
I’m so loving the love, friendship, and relationship that Rhys and Dream had. It did give me some Quincy and Monica vibes but Rhys stood on business upfront about his feelings for Dream. I wanted to know what they were having.
A cute & sweet short read. The couple had the bones for a longer more developed story. The story was presented as instalove but it really wasn’t, And the ex totally need to see her living her best life.
I loved Rhys and Dream! See what God has for us is for us! Dream thought she had it made until she went back home to the love of her life! I love how they moved for the benefit of them and not others! Well done!!!
Rhyss and Dream finally found one another but there is always a curve ball. Cute story of friends turned lovers. Why I want to know how they are doing? Lol
Dream and Rhys was so cute together. These two knew what they wanted and it was each other. Dream was not playing about letting Rhys know her love for him was real.
This book was such a cutesy read. It was basically a friends to lovers, second chance romance type of vibe. Perfect little novella for someone wanting a short and sweet love story. I loved the playful banter between the two main characters. It was all love, never demeaning or violent. And I love when a man knows how to express himself and lay out his emotions towards a woman that he loves and just be vulnerable with her. Now, when the climax happened, one would question what he’s gonna do, but he ended up making it right in the end. And he did it quickly too, which I loved that. Really cute.
Lyn returns home after life changing events. While out for her birthday she runs into Rizzy her first crush. Rizzy has always had love for her, but didn't act on it. He has his own life changing issue coming up and is torn between acting on his love or letting her go. I loved everything about this story, the love and dedication to one another. Definitely a great read.
