I don’t want the perfect marriage. I want revenge…
If you had met me a year ago, you wouldn’t have noticed me. A beautiful woman, but a struggling nobody in a tiny apartment, invisible…
Meeting Paul changed that.
And now here I am in Paris, after a whirlwind courtship and a stunning beach proposal. I smile at my handsome husband, my eyes shining in the candlelight, my huge diamond ring sparkling on the starched white tablecloth. Other women look at me in envy. They see a couple completely in love.
They’re wrong.
Despite this incredible luxury vacation, my husband and I can’t escape our problems. I can’t get over what he did with that woman just after our wedding, and my bright smile can’t hide the hardness in my heart.
I wonder if Paul knows the truth. That our first meeting, when we fell in love, wasn’t the coincidence he thinks it was. That what I want from him has nothing to do with his money.
And now that he’s wronged me, I’ll stop at nothing to get it…

Note: I read an ARC so hopefully it is edited by publication date but as of now-Chapter 35 of this book completely SPOILS the first-so if you haven’t read it AND you plan to-start there.
If you do, however, you WILL know where this one is headed and although you will feel like you are privy to the secrets of what is really happening, you also WON’T find this book as SHOCKING.
If you haven’t read the first, and don’t plan to-this will rate higher for you, than for me-as it will be more SURPRISING.
The synopsis of this book says MUCH TOO MUCH, and I am not even going to recap it. For the BEST experience with either book-go in blind!
Let’s just say that neither wife is as THRILLED with Paul’s dates as he is! And, these are definitely NOT love stories!
NOW AVAILABLE!
Thank You to Bookouture for the gifted ARC provided through NetGalley. These are my candid thoughts!
4.5🌟 Welcome back Paul! One of my all-time favorite male sociopaths has returned in the long awaited follow up to Best Day Ever! Paul’s character has left an indelible impression on me for years. Now I compare all other sociopathic characters to him. Joe, (from Caroline Kepnes' You series) is a very close second.
Paul Strom insists on things being done a certain way. He wants to be in charge. Unfortunately for Paul, the women in his life have an irritating habit of not going along with his plan!
Paul has suddenly come into some major money! And just as quickly, he marries Cecelia. Now he can have everything he has ever wanted. But hold up, big boy. Cecelia is turning out to have wants of her own.
Paul senses he’s losing control of the situation. And we know it’s about to hit the fan!
Grab your popcorn and glass of wine and witness the battle royal between our precious couple as they celebrate their first wedding anniversary in Paris.
Can this book stand on its own? Well, yes. But for the best experience read Best Day Ever first. You can thank me later!
Are we in for a third book in this series? Or is this the end of the road for Paul? Well you’ll just have to find out for yourself. What would be the fun in me just spilling it?
Oh, Paul, you sly, self-centered devil! He's back, this time with his new wife, Cecelia. My feelings about Paul are all over the place – I despise him, yet I can't get enough of his antics. He’s still that arrogant guy who thinks the world owes him everything, but honestly, that's what makes the book so entertaining. Without Paul, it would be a snoozefest.
The plot? Absolutely loved it! It's well-crafted and fast-paced. Cecelia is on her own wavelength, and figuring out her path is a thrilling mystery. The dual narration from both Paul and Cecelia keeps things fresh and exciting.
Big thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for letting me dive into this ARC. Can't wait for more!
Knowing my love for this author, I went into her newest book completely blind. After closing the cover, I have to say that doing so was a blessing. While the synopsis wasn’t stuffed full of spoilers, it also would’ve lessened my love for this book. So, if you’re willing, go into this one unawares. I promise it will be worth it. If, however, you’re one of those people who can’t, you’ll find the blurb at the end of my review…
I can’t tell you how overjoyed I was to learn that Paul Strom was back in the picture. After first meeting him in Best Day Ever, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would be in for quite the ride within the pages of this sequel, The Second Mrs. Strom. After all, one of my favorite tropes just so happens to be that of the villain narrator. But add to that delicious bag of tricks the fact that Paul is a sociopathic narcissist? For this thriller lover, it truly couldn’t have been better.
The plot and the characters, of course, had a delightful unhinged quality that I always equate with Kaira Rouda. Gifted at crafting scenes and personas that are perfectly unstable, they also somehow retain a true-to-life essence. Naturally, this book was no exception. Well-plotted and written with care, the ballooning suspense and sense of impending disaster just ratcheted higher and higher right along with the page count. Even better, however, were the multitude of twists that caught me entirely unawares. Needless to say, they were jaw-droppers for sure.
Done and dusted, the unlikeable characters, epic mind games, and questionable morals won me over hook, line, and sinker. Now I just pray that this second book in the Paul Strom saga isn’t the last that we hear from him. Poised perfectly for a follow up, I’m throwing myself on Ms. Rouda’s mercy. As for you, fellow readers, if you haven’t discovered the perfection that can be found within these quick, easy reads, be sure to check them out ASAP. After all, those of us at Thriller Book Lovers: The Pulse simply can’t stop talking about Paul, Cecilia, and this killer tale of domestic suspense. Rating of 4.5 stars.
Thank you to Kaira Rouda, Bookouture, and NetGalley for my complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
As promised, here is the publisher provided synopsis:

❤️❤️❤️ Who is excited read this??? 😍Have you read Best Day Ever? Do you have a favorite @kairarouda book??
I had not read Best Day Ever prior to reading The Second Mrs. Strom and can happily report that this book worked very well as a stand-alone book for me. I found The Second Mrs. Strom to be an enjoyable thriller which kept me engaged and wanting more.
Paul Strom and his second wife, Cecilia, are in Paris celebrating their anniversary and well, things are not going how Paul planned. Paul is a tad bit controlling - okay more than a tad bit. He is quite full of himself and his needs. Paul wants to have a baby with Cecilia, and she seems to have other plans. Both have their own agendas and readers get to read their POV's and this is where things get interesting. Things are not as they seem with this ‘happily’ married couple. I enjoyed how everything unfolded.
This was an entertaining book which made me want to read Best Day Ever!
3.5 stars
Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
Well well, looks like Paul is given a run for his money! Let me tell you that I was ecstatic when I found out Kaira Rouda had a sequel to Best Day Ever coming out in August. Best Day Ever, released in 2017, is literally my favorite hidden gem when it comes to thrillers. Everyone at #ThePulse, @thrillerbookloversthepulse couldn’t wait to eat this up!
Best Day Ever was the story of a married couple headed away for the weekend to have their Best Day Ever! Only thing is, both parties were terribly wrong! While heading for the cabin, we get to hear the narcissistic thoughts that come from Paul. Man, this guy is one hell of a character.
Fast forward seven years later enters The Second Mrs Strom. Paul has managed to snag himself a younger and gorgeous wife, Cecilia. It is their one year wedding anniversary and they are spending it in Paris. Once again, it will be their famous best day ever! Or will it?
This dude is beyond in love with himself. Paul truly believes the world revolves around him, since he’s so handsome, successful, rich, a great lover, and has the best looking wife. His controlling ways and ignorant thoughts are truly baffling. But you know, I LOVE his character and hope you do too! Be prepared for some neck whipping twists!
Thank you so much @kairarouda and @bookouture for this amazing opportunity! Publication date August 16, 2024 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ever since I read "Best Day Ever", I've been hoping for a sequel so we could find out what became of Paul Strom. Well, here's that sequel and, unsurprisingly, Paul seems to have landed on his feet as we join him on his 1-year anniversary trip to Paris with his second wife.
The story is told in chapters from the pov of Paul and Cecilia as well as diary entries from an unknown female. Paul and Cecilia both reminisce about their pasts so we get the full story on both of them. I liked this book (but not as much as the first one) and was anxious to find out how the trip would end. Despite that, I found parts tedious with lots of repetition and it seemed longer than the 284 pages as listed. Paul isn't a likeable guy by any stretch but he was really annoying me and I just wanted to smack his smug little face! His picture should be in the dictionary next to the word "narcissist". Lots of twisty occurrences with quite a surprising finish. 3.5 stars rounded up because Paul!
There's a third book in this series, "What the Nanny Saw" which is also available with Kindle Unlimited and I'll definitely be reading it when time permits.
I borrowed a copy of this book with my Kindle Unlimited membership. Once again the book was marked as "Read" before I had a chance to finish up my review. I thought I turned that feature off!
This twisted thriller kept me guessing who to believe as lies were presented as facts. I enjoyed how the story unfolded by alternating timelines and POVs. Although this is a sequel, the enjoyment and entertainment are not diminished if you haven't read the first book featuring Paul Strom, Best Day Ever. The narrators masterfully brought the characters to life while adding a sense of foreboding and an element of intrigue. I was shocked many times as motives were disclosed. I loved how everything came together with a satisfying conclusion. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.
I am disappointed that I didn’t realize until the end of this book that this wasn’t Mr. Storm’s first book. I’m curious what was told in that first book and I definitely will need to be checking it out. This is one of those books where you can’t find any characters you can truly like, but while I hated them they were well written and even better voiced in the audiobook. The narrators did an excellent job and I listened until about 80% despite having the kindle as well because I liked the way they were reading it so much better than my internal voice. I will admit I called some twists coming but some others I had gotten wrong. The mystery was good and I can’t be sad about the ending at all. Some people truly do get exactly what they deserve. Paul and Cecelia are in Paris, it’s their last day and Paul is determined it will be romantic. The perspective changes between the two of them and the time frame, giving some background. As the two go through their final day in Paris the reader realizes that they both have secrets and watching what happens as those secrets start to come to the surface was quite entertaining.
Thank you to Thriller Book Lovers The Pulse for another fantastic summer thriller!
"The Second Mrs. Strom" is the thrilling sequel to Kaira Rouda's "Best Day Ever," the book that first hooked me on her writing. I couldn't get enough and eagerly sought advance copies of her new releases when they became available!
As soon as I started listening to the audiobook, Paul's unforgettable selfish and whiney voice came rushing back, making me shiver with disgust and fascination. The narrator did an outstanding job of returning me to Paul's world. I couldn't wait to see him get his comeuppance!
While "The Second Mrs. Strom" is a standalone novel, I highly recommend reading "Best Day Ever" because it's just that good. Paul's despicable and self-centered nature is genuinely memorable. A year into his new marriage, he's in for a rude awakening when he realizes his new wife, Cecilia, won't bow to his every whim.
This book is a wild, exciting ride filled with wit and suspense. Watching Cecilia toy with Paul and put him in his place while he obliviously embarrasses himself is pure entertainment.
Thanks to Bookouture and Bookouture Audio for the advanced reading copies provided via NetGalley. I received copies of the audiobook and ebook from the publisher. All opinons are my own.
3.75 stars. Best Day Ever is one of my favorite books, but this sequel fell a bit short of my expectations. Our favorite psychopath, Paul Strom, is back and vacationing in Paris with his new wife Cecilia. While still narcissistic and delusional, Paul seems like a weaker character here, more pathetic than psychopathic. His health problems, uncertainty about his career and his marriage, and his financial issues cause him to be less powerful and not quite as creepy. As.Cecilia begins to challenge him, he often loses control over his situation, doubting her motives and feeling threatened by her outside relationships. I felt like the sequel lacked the thrills and suspense that made the first book so addictive, and I pretty much guessed where the story was going. But it was still a fun and entertaining read, and I continue to be a big Kaira Rouda fan.
All I needed to know going into this book is that Paul Strom is back and has a new wife. Best Day Ever is one of my favourite thriller novels and ai was elated to learn there was a sequel. This book is so bingeable, like the first, but don’t worry if you haven’t read Best Day Ever, this can be read as a stand-alone but it will spoil it for you. Trust me, you want to read them both.
So Paul has married again and has not changed one bit. He is still a narcissistic sociopath who must be in control at all times. God forbid you question him. But Cecilia is not taking any of it. He may have met his match this time. The couple are on their first honeymoon in Paris and Paul has planned the best night ever… but his wife has other ideas.
Just pick this up and start reading, you will be hooked in no time. Get comfortable and prepare for a wild and crazy ride. It is fun, so much fun.
Thank you so much to Bookouture for my advanced copy to read. Publishes on August 16th. And thank you Kaira Ronda for bringing back Paul.
This one kept me listening and listening. Yes, Audible. WTAF?! I need a glimpse inside Rouda's brain! Or maybe I just had one. The twists and turns and game of cat and mouse was outstanding.
This was a quick read but I did find it a bit unrealistic and predictable. It centers on a horrible narcissist named Paul and his new, much younger wife Cecelia, on their first anniversary trip to Paris. Both have secrets and the trip becomes kind of a cat and mouse game as they try to suss each other out.
The book moves at a fast clip and takes place mostly over one day, but with important flashback chapters that set the stage for the current happenings. Paul is totally insufferable and while Cecelia is better, I didn’t completely warm to her either. There were a few things I thought weren’t that realistic but it still was exciting to read. I predicted the twists but felt that they were still decent, and the ending tied up everything fairly cleanly.
Overall, this was a decent read but not sure it’s super memorable. In fact I didn’t know this was a sequel and realized I had read the first one and didn’t remember it. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
You need to read “Best Day Ever” first to understand the excellence of this story. I’m giving it 5 stars not so much for the writing but because I was glued to my screen for the last 150 pages.
Cecelia is married to Paul (who we meet in “Best Day Ever”). Paul is incredibly wealthy as he was recently the paramour of an aging widow with a pile of money.
He and Cecilia are going to Paris to celebrate their one year anniversary. Here the lies and secrets will be exposed.
"THE SECOND MRS. STROM" was my SECOND-favorite "Paul Strom" book.
Yes, author Kaira Rouda's "BEST DAY EVER" (the first "Paul Strom" book and one of my BEST BOOKS EVER) was a very, very tough act to follow.
A standalone read, "THE SECOND MRS. STROM" spotlights the one-year wedding anniversary of one of my favorite fictional delusional narcissists Paul, and his new young, gorgeous wife Cecilia.
Both husband and wife have different agendas.
Although this book was pacy and entertaining, it lacked the thrill factor of "BEST DAY EVER".
(Perhaps my expectations were too high????)
Many of the twists were contrived and eye-rolling. Plot holes were plentiful.
Also, this book was released seven years after "BEST DAY EVER".
(That is a long time to wait for a sequel!!!!!).
I listened to the audiobook read by Nick Landrum and Laurence Bouvard. Both narrators did an outstanding job with the narration.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked Best Day Ever so I was very excited to get my hands on this book. This time Paul has inherited a fortune from an old lady that he was dating for a year that died. He meets his new wife and they have a quick whirlwind romance and wed. Paul is up to his old antics. He is keeping quite a few secrets from his wife and suspects she has a few of her own.
Fast forward to their one year anniversary. They are enjoying fine dining and shopping in Paris and getting ready for an elegant restaurant at the Eiffel Tower.
I thought this book was good in the beginning but about midway through I started to get tired of the premise and hoped for a good plot twist. I felt this book relied too heavily on Paul’s actions in the first book. Since I already read it I wasn’t surprised at all. The book came across as the delusional thoughts of a narcissist. I think if I wouldn’t have read the first book I would have enjoyed this one more.
This relatively short high quality audio had me gripped from the second I started. Told by the 3 main characters pov over multiple timelines starting in Paris on an anniversary and flitting back to various events. I did gueese the twists about 40% in but this just enhanced my enjoyment. The pov back and forth made it so compelling. The husband character was written to clearly shiw his controlling nature. The wife was so cleverly written it explained her present her past and her future. The other women was written to create tention. It's a fab domestic thriller . Loved the narration. Recommended for anyone who enjoys a good multiple pov listen. 5 star. Thanks netgallery and publisher and author and narrator
The Second Mrs Strom is the sequel to Best Day Ever, which I remember being one of the best books ever! Paul Strom is back with wife #2 and boy, what a nut job she is. Of course, he’s not much better but I loved the whole story. This book has it all with jaw dropping twists all along the way. Thanks to NetGalley for this early release in exchange for my honest review. To be published August 16, 2024. I give it all the stars!
Summary: This is the follow-up novel to Best Day Ever about the ever-charming psychopath Paul Strom. After the implosion of his first marriage to Mia in Best Day Ever, Paul took some time to get his life together and then spent a year in Palm Beach pursuing lonely, elderly ladies with too much money. Yes, Paul was basically a gigolo. He struck gold with Esther Babcock, an octogenarian with millions. After Esther shuffles off the earthly coil, Paul is the sole inheritor of her massive wealth and then meets stunningly beautiful Cecilia. They fall madly in love and one year later, Paul has whisked her off to Paris for their anniversary where, as usual, he has planned the day down to the last second. Frustratingly, the day does not go as Paul meticulously planned and Cecilia has suddenly become obstinate and uncooperative, which is totally unacceptable! Their best day ever in Paris is about to take some unexpected twists.
Thoughts: Can you tell from my summary how much fun I had reading this novel? After Best Day Ever, I couldn’t wait to see what Paul Strom would do next. He is so confident in his ability to charm and manipulate that it never occurs to him that perhaps he could actually be someone else’s target. One of my favourite quotes from him occurs when he is contemplating his wife’s attitude in Paris and concludes that it is selfish and narcissistic, “I hear that personality trait is quite prevalent these days.” I was reading and chortling to myself as Paul struggles to comprehend what is happening with his compliant second wife. The pace is quick and the eye-opening developments keep coming to keep the reader engaged. I would highly recommend that you read Best Day Ever prior to this novel as one flows neatly into the next.
If you enjoy a novel that doesn’t take itself too seriously and resembles an episode of Dallas or Dynasty on steroids, then I highly recommend The Second Mrs. Strom and the precursor, Best Day Ever. As a member of @thrillerbookloversthepulse, we are all fans of Kaira Rouda and hope you enjoy this one as much as we did.
The cat and mouse game being played in this novel left my jaw on the floor! Who’s playing who and who comes out on top? I couldn’t wait to find out! This was a really fun read and the narrators were fantastic. Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to review!
Our favorite character we love to loathe is back. YEP, Paul is back and in prime form.
I heard great things about book 1, Best Day Ever, so I read it before jumping into this book, although it's not necessary. You really get to know Paul in The Second Mrs Strom but I did like having more of his back story.
The ending was great and is a nice set up for another book ❤️
If you loved Best Day Ever this one is sure to be a winner. If you didn't read it but love a good character you love to hate, don't miss your chance to grab this one.
I read Best Day Ever almost seven years ago (reviewed here), but it's one of those books that I haven't forgotten about. I was so excited to find out there was a sequel and I had to get my hands on it right away!
Paul Strom has clearly not learned any lessons from the first book, nor has he changed at all. He's still an egotistical, controlling, sexist narcissist. Kaira Rouda giving him his own narrative is actually quite a genius move. Even though we all love to hate him, it's rather entertaining to see what is going on in his mind and whether or not he will succeed at what he's planning to do. I only feel slightly sympathetic toward him in regard to the situation with his kids, but I won't say anything more so as to not spoil the first book. (You really should read it before reading this one! Lots of spoilers otherwise.)
This time around, Paul has met his match with Cecilia. She's a force to be reckoned with! I love that Cecilia also has a narrative in this novel so we can see the game of cat and mouse that is going on between her and Paul. There were some things I was able to guess at, but I was also surprised by some other things that came into play throughout the story.
I also love that the majority of the story takes place in Paris. It's a great setting, and I even learned some stuff I didn't know about the City of Lights. While the story jumps around in time every so often, it works nicely for piecing everything together. I found a few little inconsistencies, but since it is an advanced copy, I hope those will be ironed out for the final publication.
The Second Mrs. Strom will be out in mid-August, so be sure to read Best Day Ever between now and then (if you haven't already), so you're ready to pick this one up as soon as it hits shelves! I feel like there will be a third book in this series, and if that's in the works, I hope I don't have to wait another seven years to find out what else is in store for Paul Strom.
How can you not love (to hate!) Paul Strom?! I love that the narcissist himself has returned and is richer and more smug than ever! But has he met his match with his new young bride?
Told in a similar fashion to the best day ever, we walk through one what should be enchanting day through the streets of Paris with the beautiful Mr. and Mrs. Strom. It's a full year into their marriage and several years after the first Mrs. Strom exited the picture. Mr. Strom has "upgraded" and after conning a ridiculous wealthy socialite to leaving her estate to him, he's ready to re-flame the fires with his stunning new wife.
The flashbacks and diary entries kept me guessing and were really well done. There were some twists I wasn't expecting and I loved how everything unfolded and came together. No one and nothing is what it seemed! Except Paul of course!!
I listened to The Second Mrs. Strom on audio and it was well executed. I didn't particularly love the female narrator but she did work pretty well for Mrs. Strom. I listened to The Best Day Ever on audio as well and I think it was a different narrator for Paul but it didn't take anything away and I enjoyed them both.
I'm glad I read the first book in this series but I still would have thoroughly enjoyed it had I not. The plot was enough it's own here that the prior story wasn't entirely relevant and the necessary details were provided without rehashing the whole plot.
This was a fun one and I'm excited to read more by Rouda.
I did not know this was a sequel to Best Day Ever, which I guess now I'll go read. I only gave this book three stars because I had a bit of a hard time engaging with it. Perhaps reading the first in the series will enhance the experience overall. Reviews mention the idea of a third in the series. I am all for that possibility.
Paul Strom is a nightmare of entitlement, selfishness, and controlling weirdness. Cecilia is his second wife and may have initially put up with his nonsense, but girlfriend is done playing games. We get to look through both points of view, and yes, it's as juicy and entertaining as you imagine. They both have plans, and it's satisfying to see how things play out. I do wish Paul hadn't been quite so easy to hate, but wow, was he ever annoying.
It’s been years since I read Best Day Ever but Paul is the type of character that is unforgettable and being back inside his world was so entertaining. It’s not often that a thriller makes me laugh but Paul is so unhinged and over the top I couldn’t help myself. I think going into this knowing as little as possible is the way to go, it’s such a fun and wild popcorn thriller, knowing nothing really made it a blast for me. If you like domestic suspense with unlikable and untrustworthy narrators this is for you. If somehow you missed the first book definitely read it first, you’ll be happy knowing the backstory of this man.
The Second Mrs Strom is the sequel to Best Day Ever, which was published in 2017 - before unreliable narrators and toxic marriages completely took over the crime fiction market. If you have read that one you’ll have an idea what to expect here, which means there will be few surprises, so for once I think this could be a sequel that works best if you haven’t read the first book and so know nothing about the main character. As for me, I enjoyed it but felt it was all too obvious what was going on - but at the same time as being outrageously far fetched.
Five years on from the end of his first marriage, Paul Strom has landed on his feet - he’s inherited a fortune from his elderly former companion and swiftly moved on to a much younger bride, the beautiful Cecilia. Now they are in Paris to celebrate their first anniversary and he’s determined that their last night there will be the Best Night Ever…
This is mostly told from Paul’s first person present perspective as the world’s second most malignant narcissist brags about his perfect life, and his plan to bring his newly rebellious perfect wife back into line by getting her with child. If only he didn’t feel so sick from all that rich French food… We also hear from Cecilia as she recounts her side of things and the truth of their whirlwind romance is revealed. I felt it was not believable given their respective histories that neither would know what the other was up to - I don’t want to spoil things by saying more.
It was amusing reading this while the eyes of the world are on Paris, and it was fun to revisit the various famous locations with Paul and Cecilia as they bicker their way through their supposedly romantic holiday. It’s unfortunate that the author didn’t consult a bilingual beta reader though, as there are lots of small but irritating mistakes with the French language, names etc The ending was pretty well signed-posted and as with the last book, leaves things open for a third instalment. 3.5 rounded down for the present tense.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The Second Mrs Strom Is published on August 16th.
Ahh, yes! Our favorite love-to-hate character, Paul Strom, is back and may have finally met his match with his new wife, Cecilia, who’s definitely not as innocent as she first appeared. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and sometimes you have to give people a taste of their own cruel medicine.
Similar to its predecessor, The Second Mrs. Strom is told through the short timeline of the main narrative but also includes flashbacks to the past. The biggest differences between this book and The Best Day Ever are: - This book includes a more balanced split of POVs between the FMC & MMC. - While Mia was an innocent victim in Paul’s narcissistic deranged games, Cecilia may be just as unhinged as he is! A true match made in Heaven…. Or seemingly more like the opposite! - This domestic thriller had many more unexpected and shocking twists and turns! It’ll make your head spin.
Because we get to view situations through both the eyes of Paul & of Cecilia, it adds a multi-layered perspective to the story and in my opinion- gives it an advantage over the first book. This isn’t a book I’d recommend reading as a standalone. Having the backstory of The Best Day is important to really understanding Paul’s character and fully enjoying this deliciously devious follow-up novel.
Will Paul finally get the comeuppance he rightfully deserves? And why does Cecilia want revenge? These questions and more will be answered in this highly anticipated sequel!
4.25 ⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley & Bookouture for the opportunity to read this digital ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.
